- We're heading north, driving up to Scotland on a road trip with the van. Driving through the county on Northumberland, the northern most county in England situated just below the Scottish border, we decided to pay a visit to my favourite village in the county, Blanchland. It's the most picturesque place that feels like stepping back in time to how a lot of villages here in England used to be. I hope you enjoy this short tour :) Next episode, Scotland.

What a gift it is to be able to see such places through you, Stacy! Some of us wouldn't know they exist if it weren't for your videos. So beautiful, and you're right - just like stepping back in time.
Such a compliment Laura, thank you! ❤️🙏 I’ve always had a passion for sharing the little known places so needless to say, there’s plenty more coming up! I think that’s one thing I enjoy so much about slow travel, you go off the beaten path and discover so many truly wonderful places you’d never have known about otherwise. Wishing you a lovely week ahead 😊
Absolutely breathtaking, and it really is like moving backward in time, that toilet for one! But just seeing the church and the graveyard and the village, imagining generations who all had their most beautiful and most heartbreaking moments all here in this small little spot, over and over, it's very moving. I hope to visit one day.
Northumberland was always very special to us as well, also on our route for our holidays to Scotland. Thanks for the lovely video, dear Stacy! So wonderful to see this beautiful county again. 🥰❤
I absolutely adore Northumberland, so many incredible places and such a rich history! Definitely look forward to sharing more of it next year as I’ve got such a long list of places I’d like to go back and capture on film 😊 Pleased to hear you appreciate this wonderful county too! Happy Sunday 🥰
Such picturesque views! Such expanse. and an atmosphere of quietude and beauty.... Birds sing songs). Thanks a lot!
Thank you for letting me travel via your channel. Always calming, always beautiful. It of course makes me want to go back each time. Maybe one day.
So glad you enjoy these videos I’m creating 🥰 I love sharing all these places that are a little more off the beaten track so that others can get to see their charm and beauty. Hope you get to visit yourself one day ❤️
Thank you for sharing this gorgeous village remarkable Beauty ♥️
Quite beautiful. Thank you Stacy.
It’s blissfully peaceful there 🥰 Happy Sunday
Thank you as always
Most welcome! ❤️
Such as stunning place, so peacefull And what a beautiful stone ... I have never been to this part of England, yet....x looking forward to see more of your videos xx
Beautiful, thank-you. When travelling to Edinburgh I always go via Northumberland, it’s such a beautiful place where you step back in time. Bamburgh is a favourite because the beach is so quiet and peaceful ❤ thanks for posting ❤️
I'm so so lucky I get to call Northumberland home, sometimes I forgot how lucky I am so thanks for reminding me ❤️❤️
You really are VERY lucky!! I would move up there in a heartbeat!
Why are you lucky??
I live in Northumberland and at times take it for granted but there are so many places just like or nicer than Blanchland. Nice video.
I’m interested in moving there where do you think the nicest places are ?
My Paternal Grandfather John James Proudlock. Lived in the Village of Wall. His father was from the Village of Simonburn. His Mother was from Wall Ann Stobbart. Stobart. I have visited both of these Villages they are so lovely. The Church in Simonburn, is so old and rustic, but well maintained. I couldn't find any Proudlock headstones in the Churches graveyard. The Male line of my Grandfather's relatives were mostly Joiners or Cabinet Makers..
Your videos are so beautiful and relaxing to watch.
Even being from Northumberland I didn’t realise Blanchland was here. I thought it was more on the County Durham side 😅
It’s technically just over the border into County Durham but when I’ve worked with the Visit Northumberland tourist board they were happy to include it on the itinerary so.. 🤷♀️ Either way, loveeee this place 🥰
Beautiful! There are places I see or visit and have this "feeling" run through me, it is like I was meant to be living in that time period and location and your videos reflect all of that. For me personally, I was born too late into the world and the wrong country, I should have been born in the late 1800's and in the UK or Ireland. Thank you for re-charging my body and spirit!
Спасибо за экскурсию по чудному и очень уютному месту!❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed beautiful Blanchland 🥰
Very beautiful !! Looks like a great place to live !
I would honestly move there in a flash!
My family had a cottage here at one time. I read the title and assumed straight away it was blanchland, and ive never even been there....
Щиро дякую за можливість подорожувати разом з вами по історичним місцям, це так захопливо🤓👍
Thank you for joining me on my travels ☺️🙏 I’m glad you find places like this interesting.
Another beautiful vlog of your enchanting travels across your beautiful United Kingdom 🇬🇧 ❤️ thank you so much! ~ Lisa in UAE
Thank you Lisa 🥰🙏 There are so many dreamy locations like this here in the Uk which often get overlooked in favour of the ‘must see’ tourist locations. Personally I prefer the lesser known gems like this place and I’m pleased you enjoyed it too! ☺️
Dreamy as always
Thank you 🥰🙏
Try looking at Lillesleaf in the Scottish Borders , Holton cum Studley in Oxfordshire and Falkland in Fife all stunning villages
Lovely video, and I will now make sure to visit. However I live at the south of Northumberland and Blanchland is 36 miles south west from me in Durham. Thank yiu for sharing.
It’s a gorgeous place, you really should try and get a visit in one day ☺️ Yes it’s technically in County Durham although when I’ve been working with the Northumberland tourist board they’ve been happy for me to include it in a Northumberland itinerary as it’s just on the border. Either way, a stunning location and one I can’t help myself returning to time and again 🥰 Have a lovely week ahead.
Just gorgeous thankyou for sharing ❤
Most welcome! Glad you enjoyed 🥰🙏
Okay this is beautiful! But can you tell if 3000gbp is enough to live there for one person?
Best video ever .
❤
❤️❤️
You found the village at a quiet time, I'd guess.
We were there around 9/10am so definitely going to be quieter than later in the day but it’s always been a pretty quiet place whenever I’ve visited and stayed there 😊 I suppose as it’s up North, much quieter on the whole compared to places like the Cotswolds or Cornwall which are inundated with tourists
It is always quiet
TLDR It's Blanchland
Most certainly is 🥰
Looks truly boring. It’s a coffin made of bricks.
