Hey Zach! Love the channel. Just wanted to say that even though the Vapor 11 is good on the sole for sliding, as a big slider myself I developed a 1 cm hole in the medial side of the shoe within a few weeks of play. Sending them back in favor of a pair of Wave Enforce! Thanks for the reviews, always super thorough.thorough
Thanks for the video Zach, watched it about 6 times now, really appreciate you including the heavy players category. Fantastic information for going out and seeking your individual videos on the shoes from the list for more details.
Think I'm going to go for the NB Coco's, would love them to do a clay version as well as I'm about 50/50 hard court and clay.
Zach - Solid Video. Very Informative and appreciated all the categories especially the ones that describe the type of player (i.e. Srv/Volley vs Srv/+1, etc) I ended up ordering a pair of the Wave Enforce because of your video and looking forward to receiving them. Could you do a video on everyday lifestyle shoes comparing shoes like the Hoka Transport X vs On cloudnova and similar shoes?
I need shoes for hard court/clay/artificial grass and have a flat and wide foot but I don't know if the new Barricades are as narrow as tbe previous ones 😭
Thank you Zach for the video. Great job. Bought a pair of mizuno wave enforce tour and I really like it.
Any suggestions for a medium or generous medium width show but with a wider toe box??
I have a pair of lotto raptors per your suggestion and I like them but by far my favorite shoe is the head sprint sf 3.5. Also have the file speed serve and surprisingly, like those as much as the lottos
Best video type you make! I go back to the latest one all the time!
Thanks for the vid! :) Any chance of reviewing the air trainer 1 as that was meant for tennis, I'd like to know how it stacks up nowadays.
Great video! Thanks!
Hi, thanks for the tennis shoe reviews! I have developed Retrocalcaneal Heel bursitis playing pickleball - what shoe characteristics should I look for and do you have a specific brand/model that you like for this, thanks!
Thanks for this informative buy guide, please add a category for padel and outdoor volleyball
I currently own the new ASICS Gel Res and the Mizuno Wave Enforce and they don’t come close to my Diadora Blushield Torneo and B-icon. Diadora for the win! 🏆
Great Video Zac. I used Gel Res 4,5,6,7 and then went for Novak Speed 2. I have Orthopaedic Insoles. I have narrow heel and medium wide front foot.
I need something thats light, good cushion for hard-courts. The Novak shoe does not provide much cushioning.
Any ideas?
Hey Doc, sorry but here it says that your favorite for hard court sliding is the Resolution 9, but in your full review of that shoe you said that it was quite sticky and that you recommended sliding only for advance sliders. I'm looking for a pair with great cushion and not sticky, is there a good match for that? Many thanks, your videos are awesome.
Hey doc! Happy to report that new-ish Diadora Blushield Torneo for clay is as comfortable and sturdy as the hard court version.
But my god this paintjob for the clay shoes... It's been less than a month and they're already gone orange.
Thank you so much for creating a section for the husky player!!!
Hey Doc, looks like I am late to the party here 😂 thanks for this list, I am really interested in the Mizuno Enforce. I would like to hear your opinion on the cage 4 against this list in nowadays. Looks like still has a solid fan base but not sure how is it now against newer releases or even against the Mizuno Enforces/Barricades. Thanks!
Thank you Dr.!
Hey Zach, love the channel. It’s hands down the best one for tennis shoes. I was wondering about the Kswiss Ultrashot 3. Is there an update coming? They seem to be in very limited availability right now. Heard anything?
Currently use the kswiss hypercourt express 2's, have a few pairs of them.
Hey there Doc,
I'm looking for a shoe to replace my Solecourt Boosts.... Need something with support and stability, but I have hallux rigidus and would like something with a wide toe box with a soft upper. I've tried the Torneo and Raptor, and both of those have eyelets that push down on my bone spur. Any recommendations?
bump behind right heel after pickleball wear icon b2 and b1 need to try new shoe?? THX!!!!! great content!!
Bought barricades in Feb and by Sept there was a hole in the left sole. I only play on hardcourts but still i figured they would atleast last a year. The pair i had in high school lasted years. Thinking about trying asics since they seem more durable
Mine to I thought I would be fine but ended up slipping and breaking my wrist 🥲
Love your work Zach!
Any updates on a review and teardown of the Lacoste AGLT23 ultra and Lite?
I see the ultra in your recommendations 👍🏽
got the lites and got a bloody sock and cuts all over. they look good though but won't be doing anything athletic in them
Can you create a video that talks about upcoming tennis shoes that haven't been released, or rumors on interesting new releases? love your channel - best shoe channel
Does the Asics gel resolution 9 do ok with tendinitis, arch pain or is it not worth at all to get?
Any big updates from the Blushield Fly 3 to the Blushield Fly 4?
Hey to do with basketball but what do you think is the best basketball shoe I can buy for bounce under $100
Hi Zach,
I have a hard time navigating this space honestly, I am a light (62 kg) all-court player that runs down pretty much every ball yet plays aggressively as well. Long story short: Is there any shoe out there that is light/fast but wit a durable outsole (shoes made for durability seem to also make all the rest of the shoe heavy, where the outsole is the thing that wears out first) I have quite normal feet
Just wondering, what is the tennis shoes that have the lowest drop? I'm using adidas tennis shoes right now and I think it has a quite high drop and hurting my knee. Thanks in advance.
I've got pain in my plantar. I think my nike court air zoom nxt has caused it. Have you come across this?
Hi nice video Doc! Do you recomend still Adidas Solecourt boost for knee problems as the first option?
11.1 inch lenght and 4.3 inch width feet here. In my country there's no wide version of resolution 9, would it be a problem if I go with the plain 9? Thanks :)
Right now I'm playing tennis/pickleball in KD 13s. I like that they are soft on my feet with the full strobel and locks in my ankle. I'm trying tennis specific options discussed here but they are super stiff on knees. Any advice. I ordered the ASICS Rev 9. Darn they feel like they are made of wood.
I have pretty severe bunions and low arches but I like the Mizuno exceed tour 5 better than ASICS gel resolution 8 wide and the Mizuno wave exceed. Even though ppl say the wave tour is better for narrow fit. The problem is the shape of the toe box in 3D ? I have flat arch and feel the R8 presses my feet down. So which other shoe should I try?
Babolat Jet Mach 3 doesn't last long at all. Logo falls off quick, outsoles soon after...they need to fix the durability issue.
@@FootDoctorZach The logo on mine is also falling off, and the sole has started chipping away. Haven’t had them for very long either.
Agree the cushioning and support broke down very quickly. The logo fell off. But the tread and sole are very durable.
Hey Zach! I live in India and the only brands here are Adidas and Asics (don't sell sizes in E). Can you recommend an Adidas shoe for wide, pronated feet?
Love the channel! Question: My sister is a Tennis player looking for new shoes, and while I think many of the shoe reviews you do probably port over to the Women's shoe version, do you know of anyone reviewing women's shoes like you do?
There’s no difference - what’s good for one is good for the other - I don’t know of anyone specifically though to answer your question
Great Review ,,,, Seems as though the K Swiss Ultra-shot 3 is checking a lot of those Boxes..... At first glance....
anything for back of knee pain during and after padel?
Which shoes would you recommend between ASICS gel resolution 9 vs Yonex eclipsion 4 ?. For comfort and speed. With occasional prior conditions of shin splints and ball of the foot pain.
This is the exact purpose of this video - find those two categories and see which shoes show up in them
I love the very detailed reviews. But I have a question. Do you have a recommendation for Pickelball shoes with low to no drop? 5mm or less.
Thanks.
Nope- not really something I'm comfortable recommending in the court shoe space with all the issues ive seen from those shoes with patients of mine
Hey Zach, great video as always, thanks! I don't necessarily have wide feet, it's mostly medium, but really wide on the ball of foot and toes. I developed Morton's neuroma on both feet because I was playing with a Asics Court FF2 size 12 (my actual size is 12.5). The only shoe I found that works for me is the K-Swiss Ultrashot 3 size 13 because of its wide toe box, but now I'm getting heel pain. I already tried many other shoes with a more comfortable cushion, but they are all too narrow in the toe box. Is there any shoes you would recommend with these characteristics: comfortable, soft cushioning, and wide toe box - something like Altra for running.
Hey Zach. I play a lot of padel. But i have pain in my achilles tendon when i play. What shoes do you recommend for stop my pain on my achilles tendon. I think the pain is because of the impact of the jumps. Can you place recommend the best shoes. Thank you. From Portugal
It's listed in the video. he even has the chapters seperated so it's easy to find.
Are hiking trainers good for wet courts?
Can you do a review on the kyrie’s 🙏
Am I missing something? I've been playing with the Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour and I almost sprained my ankle! Any other recommendations? Maybe high top recs?
High tops don’t stop ankle sprains- not will any shoe really just some better than others- there’s other shoes in the list in the video
I was mistaken -- the Wilson Rush Pro 4.0 was there! Great under-the-radar shoe!
Which one is widest in the forefoot?
I want to share something. Since I am a bit confused. I have a lot of pain in my heels during and after tennis. I have high arch. So I tried asics, nike, all adidas and joma.....with and without orthotics.....nothing. Amazingly I tried the Adidas Barricade and although they feel quite harsh.....the pain just went away! Maybe a little bit of pain in the heels during playing but zero afterwards. So, this does not make any sense since Barricades have no great cushion and are pretty low on the ground. Can you suggest what kind of shoe should I look into? I'm staying with the Barricade but I need more cushion in the forefoot.
Great videos. Thank you
You probably just like the lockdown and the lack of motion - cushion isn’t everything. Maybe the Lacoste aglt23 ultra
After 2 USTA game, I have bruised toes for my Rome feet. The index finger toe seems falling off. Any suggestions? Thx!
Im looking for strictly the tennis shoe with the longest lasting tread on the bottom? I put a hole in the bottom of the tread of the adidas barricades in 2 months
Great Review 💪🏿🧠
Cannot for the review of all new Zen 5 from 361 (Aaron Gordon) Nuggets NBA Champions 2023 🏆
ok Doc. I have Haglunds best shoe? ordered FP insoles also
Whatever is in the Achilles section that matches the other categories you fit in to
Zack, any recommendation of tennis shoes for accessory navicular? Always having difficulty choosing shoes! Need your help!
I have a wide forefoot and a narrow heel. Too often when I find a shoe that “fits”, even though I make sure I have toe room and try to jam my toe in the store with no problems I always end up with painful toe jams while playing. Is there a shoe for people like me?
Ultimate Tennis Shoe Buyers Guide 2024
czcams.com/video/acaTwAhuE7Y/video.html - there’s a wide foot and narrow heel section in this video - check out which shoes match you - but if my memory serves me correctly- the WET is the only one in both
I miss a zero drop / low heel-to-toe drop category. It is very hard to find zero-drop and wide tennis shoes. I like barefoot shoes for walking, I run in zero-drop shoes (Inov8 Terra Ultra / Terra fly), and I still play tennis in the old New Balance MC60. It is impossible to find a replacement or similar tennis shoes. Please help me. There are many people in the same situation but they are choosing non-tennis shoes like Xero 360, Altra, or Topo shoes which are not designed for tennis.
There really aren't any- too many people snapping achilles tendons with them
@@FootDoctorZach I would say with a combination of Z2 training/endurance/MAF method training, and good nutrition, there is no reason to snap achilles during tennis sessions.
I am a 4.0 player playing for over 30 years. So which tennis shoes have a low heel-toe drop, a little cushioning, wider toe box?
Is there a shoe you’d recommend for high school players, somewhat cheaper but with really good durability for singles and double play
Any chance you'll review the Addidas Ubersonic 4.1?
They are horrible. Long time Ubersonic user. I should have stocked up on the 4.0 😢
Breathability ranked shoes please
Really appreciate the advice you're giving here. Wish you would address shoe durability. I think it's important considering how expensive many of these shoes are and that some won't last long on hardcourts.
Asics Gel Resolution 9 is the real champions here. It's almost always mentioned in all categories.
What if your serve sucks? Do you have a shoe for that?
Do a LeBron 20 vs Harden 7 review
BASICALLY JUST BUY 10 PAIRS - THERE IS ALWAYS A CHANCE THAT SOME OF THEM WILL FIT YOU :)
Adidas Barricade and Lacoste AGLT23 are both for wide feet not narrow...
No son of flash?
Grab a your favorite shoe at Tennis Point: geni.us/FDZTP
Zach i got a pair of gel res 9 wides via a friend cos they dont sell them in europe had to get it brought over
I tried my best to guestimate the size i needed cos of my extremely wide foot so tried on normal to get correct length
Unfortunately the wides are still too narrow but it hurts underneath my left foot on the medial side in front of the midfoot but at the lower part of the forefoot next to the pinkie toe
Breaking it in wont help as it is ok width wise in the upper
My issue is underneath i am not standing on cushion i am standing on the outter dynawall shell from the inside causing pain.
What solutions do i have? Is going up half size an option even though the length may be too long?
I cant even try before i buy as i am in Europe so literally throwing money down the drain guestimating each time.
What suggestions would you make? New balance 4E might be an option also babolat sfx3 or wilson pro rush ace?
Not sure if you tried the gel res 9 wides for comparison but were the gel res 8 wides wider fitting? Some said the 9's arent a true 2E but the 8's were
I also have a custom orthotic insole but the heel bit is very rigid and hard not sure if that is safe to use in a tennis shoe
I have flat wide feet which causes splaying and have supination where i seem to walk on outwards of my feet which exacerbates the issue
I only had this wide foot problem 5 years ago suddenly but not sure why maybe because i started collecting a lot of sneakers and didn't want to crease them so changed my walking pattern for the worse causing the splaying and my foot widening inexplicably.
Is a solution to get maybe wide cushion insoles to wrap around the sides of my foot so the area which the asics insole meets the medial inside of the shoe when i step does not pinch the underside of the medial side of my foot?
Thanks in advance
