it really shocks me, but at the same time it doesn't, of how much of a spectacle white people made this. Calling it a "barbecue", but this would also be done at family reunions, get togethers, anything...just sickening. Making it a postcard, like they had just taken a trip to the Bahamas. Rest in peace Jesse.

So was Jesse actually guilty of the murder or just blamed for it and horribly lynched? Poor kid just 17 years of age with special needs and he was treated so brutally, this is what they don't tell you about in American history. Shameful.

Nobody has found the killer Jesse was an easy scapegoat to use since he worked on the farm. This was during the time when there was much violence towards African Americans for example 'the massacre at Black Wall Street' , also the re-emergence of the KKK. This period was know as the 'Red Summer'.

Wikipedia says that he did confess the crime and that he illiterate. He could have been innocent but there is evidence he might have indeed killed the woman (although we can't be sure if he did sex*ally abuse her). A new investigation would be needed if there isn't one already, to say wheter he was guilty or not, but it's hard to tell due to the circumstances, it was too long ago so you can't find new suspects

And here we are in 2022 and special needs people are still treated with such disrespect. I'm a special needs an I've been spoken too like dirt. I had no bed so I went to ODSP and was told by my worker to sleep on the floor. I ran out of there crying. I'm very very ill I have Heart Disease I had my first 1 at 24 hours old. I was born with a hole in my heart. My health is poor at best. People who disrespect anyone who's disabled shouldn't get away with it. I wouldn't let them near myself or anyone. That is what being Black in America has been since the first Slaves arrived until today. As an African American 65 years of age I have seen the worst of American become normalized especially over the last 5 years. It is sad to say for me but I truly believe most ....I will say all IMO...Whites over the age of 5 are inherently racist even if they do not realize it or acknowledge it. When the first Euro Whites arrive they made sure to knit it into the fabric of the Americas.... a racism so deeply embedded that it will take God to remove it. Only a savage could look and cheer and attend the lynching of another person as if was another trip to the carnival. This is the barbaric savage behavior engaged in by those who would consider me as other does not move them. It still carries on to this day no different since the founding of the idea of America.
