- Two years ago I unboxed the first STREAMLINE RC Thrasher Jet Boat the world got to see.. and it was remarkable - and NEW with its self righting system in 2016. Well here I am unboxing an freshly UPGRADED V2 THRASHER from StreamlineRC after all of their forward thinking R&D has been installed. A POWER BILGE PUMP?! WHAT?! Yup, you read that right.. This revelation is cutting edge technology for these style of RC boats - and Streamline RC continues to push what we all thought was possible. Now you can empty your boat without having to bring it back to shore.. and its all automatic!
I was able to convince Scott, the head engineer and founder of the Thrasher Jet Boat to put together a short video for us explaining how this technology works. You will see it in this film.
The additional upgrades to my V2 boat that I have installed are:
1) Power Bilge

pretty slow for the capabilities of 6s isnt it? I would think it should be able to crank out 60mhp? None the less, super sick machine. Thing turns on a dime with those side skegs.
Hello AJ, you are right, at least 50mph and probably closer to 60+mph with the right hull and this motor, esc, battery combo setup properly, is what you would expect from a prop drive setup. The differences between a prop and a jet are significant, so are the ways that you use them. This jet for example procuces over 11 pounds of thrust (far more than you would ever get from a prop boat with the same motor/esc/bat), this is enough to lift the boat vertically by a force factor of over 2x it's own weight and very close to 3x. This allows the boat to accelerate explosively, something that is needed when you are navigating white water rappids where the pump only hooks up periodically and the boat leaps from point to point up the current navigating rocks. These boats are really fun anywhere and offer advantages due to their manuverability and their ruggedness, but they are really made for rivers and streams and extreme manuverabilty, not top straight line speed. Jet drives robs you of 30% of your power. Jet drives are highly inefficient for power but very maneuverable

This boat is amazing. They totally nailed it, smooth as butter, self righting, pumping the water out so quickly, jet engine to go in shallow water. I think I found my first RC boat: the SteamlineRC Thrasher.

Kawi green! 👍🏾 I need one of those so bad! Was at Lake minnewanka this past weekend and took my proboat there I flipped it over, a couple of nice guys on their boat who were just leaving the dock went and fetched it for me but by the time they got to it, the cover of my boat was gone 😭 it was a sad day haha. But now I have an excuse to get the thrasher! Will never have to worry about that again with its self righting feature and new pump. I was already sold on the V1 of the Thrasher but literally just saw this video on the V2 and it’s over... lol she will be mine! 😁

Seeing that green thrasher climb a dam was unbelievable, what a boat, but it takes a good operator also.
I got hooked on RC a FEW years ago when our speed controllers were wire wound resistors with a wiper, to change frequencies crystals were swapped, technology has changed so much.
I thought I had a lot of RC toys laying around I’ve collected over the years, your garage puts my collection to shame.

seen your video you posted in july 2016 or the thrasher and i fell in love.. I dont have any water near me in El Paso TX other then Rio Grande river and well it is part USA part Mexico and really frowned upon if you put something in the water.. I would have to travel to far and not get to play as much as I would like to. So I just cant justify the spending of that kind of money on something I cant use enough.. BUT I LOVE IT and as always thank you for sharing with us..
