IVF is such a difficult, confusing journey, and it can break your heart over and over again. I'm so sorry you're going through these challenges, especially at your age. I hope you don't mind some unsolicited advice from someone who has been through IVF. It sounds like you have a dedicated fertility doctor who you trust, which is wonderful. But please be aware that each doctor uses different protocols and takes different approaches to infertility. It may be worth meeting with another fertility doctor, especially one who has had success with your specific infertility issue, to see if they'd recommend another approach or drug combo. Just so you know you've exhausted the possibilities. And if you haven't seen a naturopath already to address your autoimmune issues, their holistic approach can be a wonderful complement to western medicine. Finally, have you looked at the fertility forums on inspire.com (in partnership with the National Infertility Association)? There's one called Finding a Resolution for Infertility, and when I searched, there were hundreds of posts about premature ovarian failure, so maybe you could find helpful information there. My heart breaks for you guys. While I haven't gone through IVF, I did experience a miscarriage of multiples almost 5 years ago and it was devastating. It is a smashing one off guide for learning how to get pregnant naturally minus the normal expense. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my mate after a lifetime of fighting got astronomical results with it.
I'm 32 and I have the same condition, I was diagnosed at 28 and I did ivf, same thing happened to me that happened to you. I only grew one follicle to 18 and another to 5. I did egg collection and there was no egg. We took a break and will try it again after a year. I suggest you read the book "it starts with the egg" it change your life. Stay strong . It's not easy. I'm 5 years trying
Thank you for sharing your story! I'm so sorry ivf didn't work. After many years of IVF treatments, we decided it's time to use donor eggs. We decided to go abroad. We chose a clinic in Eastern Europe. Prices there are much lower though success rates are much higher. Moreover, the process of finding a donor is easier there. From the very beginning, the staff was very friendly and positive. Compared to our previous experiences we felt very much at ease with them. At the clinic, you get the feeling that they really want to help you and that it is all about you and not in the first place about your money. I've got pregnant after the second cycle. I have the feeling that transferring of fresh embryos might have helped. Also, the transfer of the embryo went extremely smooth and much quicker than I experienced in a previous IVF. I read the quicker the transfer the better. Thanks to our clinic we are 7 months pregnant! Our little princess will see the world very soon!

Your story is touching. Ttc for over 5 years’ can still feel that there is still love. As if you met just recently. But I can tell you going through infertility is a journey. It needs both of you to support each other. At no point should you start pointing fingers. Lamenting that the other person is the reason of your failure to be having children. When you go through this journey together. It will seem easy to deal with. I really thank my husband for being there for me. At times I was giving up. But kept reminding me that he loves me for who I am. And that having children is Gods plans and I should not stress about it. When I came to realize about Bio texcom clinic. We went through the procedure together. We are now proud parents and I can never trade him for anything in the world. He was my support when everything else seemed like it was not working out.

Hi Lillian, I'm so sorry to hear about your fertility struggles. One thing that might not have come to mind yet but that I've found very helpful for maintaining my health is Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. It can be pricey but I was able to bring my TSH level down without changing anything in my diet and I started to see my hair grow back after dealing with hair loss for 2 years. It helped me absorb the iron in my diet better so I no longer had low iron levels, my menstrual cycles were more regular and my energy improved! If you can find a local Acupuncturist/TCM Herbalist, I'd highly recommend going in for a consultation to hear what they can do for you :) Sending love and prayers, xx
I am so sorry you are going through all of this at so young and age, it really stinks! I know you are probably getting a lot of advice thrown at you as well, but I still want to put this out there for you to research. Intermittent Fasting!!! It healed me of my Hashimotos (I used to take 150 MG of armour thyroid and now I take none!!) Also my blood pressure is now normal, my interstitial cystitis symptoms are so much better so it is working on healing that as well as the lichen planopilaris on my scalp. My fibro is so much better and is being healed as well. I have only been doing 16:8 (16 hours fasting, 8 hour eating window) for almost 5 months now, it is so amazing, it is free, although I do recommend the books Delay, Don't Deny by Gin Stephens and the Complete Guide to Intermittent Fasting by Jason Fung, but you can learn a ton by watching youtube videos by Dy Ann Parham and Dr. Eric Berg. I wish you well on your healing journey!
hey Lillian, I've followed you so long. I'm sorry this is not working out for you but don't give up hope. I'm a women's health NP for 20 years. If you came to me with your issues I would almost bet that the steroids you are taking for the autoimmune disease is blocking ovulation. I've seen that alot. And while I know you need it for Addison's, I would really see a reproductive endocrinologist to work on if temporarily adjusting the steroid medication. Just FYI

Hi Lillian, I’m sorry about your situation I have myself going through exactly the same thing that you are going through (POF at 25) and I’ve been dealing with this for the past 6 years and still trying to find a way of getting pregnant naturally. After researching all these years I’ve found that unfortunately there’s no cure for it (depending on the reason why you have POF) so we decided it was time to get pregnant with an egg donor. it’s pretty devastating and I know exactly how you feel. I really hope they find a cure for this soon! I wish all the luck in the world!

Thank you so much for sharing your story...I was diagnosed with POF at the age of 25 and was pretty much told I would not be able to have anymore children (I had already had a 6 year old at that point). I met my husband a year later and told him that we would not be able to have any children of our own when things began to get serious and he married me anyway...Well long story short we now have a 3 year old daughter and doctors can’t explain (I guess God had other plans for us), we are currently on a ttc journey trying to get pregnant again, we have been trying for about 2 years now and nothing, so we are looking into ivf.
We give up too everything with ivf we found very vague and we feel they just don’t know lot about the subject meaning the science can’t explain lot so we just not going to go through it again and live our life the way it’s going to be , good luck for everyone can anyone tell me why the doctors are always so excited about it !
Going through an IVF is challenging. But if you have the support of your husband or partner. Then it will not seem as hard as you think. If it is going to be your last trial. Choose the best clinic. In my years dealing with infertility. I learnt a lot. One of them is that a clinic has a lot to do with the success of a procedure. How long has the clinic been in existence? Have you checked o its reviews? How are their customers saying about the clinic? Does their patients have positive remarks concerning their services? These are among the questions that you are supposed to ask yourself. I did the same and found the best clinic. All my two procedures were a success in bio texcom. Honey its NOT hopeless! definitely get a second opinion....someone mentioned it could be your other meds blocking the stims. I completely understand not wanting to use a donor....dont go down that road yet...you HAVE eggs!!!! I’ve been married for 13 years, and haven’t used any protection for 9 years. Still no baby, but we haven’t really pursued anything treatment or medication. But I did find out that I have PCOS. 😔 a lot of PCOS women are overweight, hairy, and suffer with acne but still get pregnant... I have none of those things, but I definitely have the infertility issue.
I'm so sorry... I don't know if it helps but go watch Kathryn Morgan's video on her "thyroid update major breakthrough (MTHFR gene mutation)" from about 3 weeks ago, she talks about an issue you can have concerning pregnancy so maybe there is something in there for you to try out.
I'm sorry ivf didn't work for you. I’ve been there myself. My 3rd cycle failed recently. Everything seemed to be great. Despite my age, Dr. said my eggs were great. Chances for pregnancy were so high! I guess it failed again because of my age. I'm almost 46. I really hoped it will work! I’m so shattered. I can’t believe it’s happening again. I was so sure this time we’ll get pregnant. I've heard that success rates increase with each next IVF. I thought you are more fertile after a failed cycle due to all the high amounts of drugs you've taken. I believed it was true, but… Now I'm going for mitochondrial donation. This one should work for sure. But no more IVF with own eggs...
Have you heard of injecting ovaries with PRP to stimulate them and possibly grow eggs? They are doing trials currently in San Diego. Look up Inovium. It tells you all the info there. The Greek doctor that started this procedure has had some success stories. He claims it works well with woman who are POF. Please please please do not adopt if your knee jerk reaction is I want this to be “my” child. I’m an adoptee and I can tell you first hand how harmful that is, every time you see your adopted kid and they don’t look like you, or they don’t have your habits you’ll be reminded. Also you can afford to adopt a child if you’re doing IVF treatments you’re just wanting a fancy closed adoption from birth. But adoptions from froster care are nearly free. But again don’t adopt until you’re comfortable with the idea that they’re not your biological child.
I don't mean for this to sound crass... but do you feel that all of this happening is some sort of sign that maybe your body just isn't up for this? It's possible your body isn't allowing you to ovulate because you wouldn't be able to carry a baby to full-term. I have learned that our bodies do things for a reason and to try to push it past its capabilities can cause significant damage in the future. It's just a thought.

Hi Lillian, I’m sorry about your situation I have myself going through exactly the same thing that you are going through (POF at 25) and I’ve been dealing with this for the past 6 years and still trying to find a way of getting pregnant naturally. After researching all these years I’ve found that unfortunately there’s no cure for it (depending on the reason why you have POF) so we decided it was time to get pregnant with an egg donor. it’s pretty devastating and I know exactly how you feel. I really hope they find a cure for this soon!

Thank you so much for sharing your story...I was diagnosed with POF at the age of 25 and was pretty much told I would not be able to have anymore children (I had already had a 6 year old at that point). I met my husband a year later and told him that we would not be able to have any children of our own when things began to get serious and he married me anyway...Well long story short we now have a 3 year old daughter and doctors can’t explain (I guess God had other plans for us), we are currently on a ttc journey trying to get pregnant again, we have been trying for about 2 years now and nothing, so we are looking into ivf.
Did the follicle grow when you were taking the ovulating meds? (Not the ivf) is it safe to continue on that? Maybe that's what your body responds to.

We give up too everything with ivf we found very vague and we feel they just don’t know lot about the subject meaning the science can’t explain lot so we just not going to go through it again and live our life the way it’s going to be , good luck for everyone can anyone tell me why the doctors are always so excited about it !
Going through an IVF is challenging. But if you have the support of your husband or partner. Then it will not seem as hard as you think. If it is going to be your last trial. Choose the best clinic. In my years dealing with infertility. I learnt a lot. One of them is that a clinic has a lot to do with the success of a procedure. How long has the clinic been in existence? Have you checked o its reviews? How are their customers saying about the clinic? Does their patients have positive remarks concerning their services? These are among the questions that you are supposed to ask yourself. I did the same and found the best clinic. All my two procedures were a success in bio texcom. Honey its NOT hopeless! definitely get a second opinion....someone mentioned it could be your other meds blocking the stims. I completely understand not wanting to use a donor....dont go down that road yet...you HAVE eggs!!!! Infertility is very defeating but there is so many different levels of knowledge out there and not ONE doctor knows it all!! Keep that in mind:) Gonna start following you sweet girl!! 😘😘

And the second one did fertilty treatment with her husband since many years too but they were tired about that so they re stop and suddently she were pregnant! ! I’ve been married for 13 years, and haven’t used any protection for 9 years. Still no baby, but we haven’t really pursued anything treatment or medication. But I did find out that I have PCOS. 😔 a lot of PCOS women are overweight, hairy, and suffer with acne but still get pregnant... I have none of those things, but I definitely have the infertility issue.

I'm sorry ivf didn't work for you. I’ve been there myself. My 3rd cycle failed recently. Everything seemed to be great. Despite my age, Dr. said my eggs were great. Chances for pregnancy were so high! I guess it failed again because of my age. I'm almost 46. I really hoped it will work! I’m so shattered. I can’t believe it’s happening again. I was so sure this time we’ll get pregnant. I've heard that success rates increase with each next IVF. I thought you are more fertile after a failed cycle due to all the high amounts of drugs you've taken. I believed it was true, but… Now I'm going for mitochondrial donation. This one should work for sure. But no more IVF with own eggs...
Have you heard of injecting ovaries with PRP to stimulate them and possibly grow eggs? They are doing trials currently in San Diego. Look up Inovium. It tells you all the info there. Please please please do not adopt if your knee jerk reaction is I want this to be “my” child.
I’m an adoptee and I can tell you first hand how harmful that is, every time you see your adopted kid and they don’t look like you, or they don’t have your habits you’ll be reminded.
Also you can afford to adopt a child if you’re doing IVF treatments you’re just wanting a fancy closed adoption from birth. But adoptions from froster care are nearly free.
But again don’t adopt until you’re comfortable with the idea that they’re not your biological child.
I don't mean for this to sound crass... but do you feel that all of this happening is some sort of sign that maybe your body just isn't up for this? It's possible your body isn't allowing you to ovulate because you wouldn't be able to carry a baby to full-term. I have learned that our bodies do things for a reason and to try to push it past its capabilities can cause significant damage in the future. It's just a thought.
