      I see that the only comments the have replies are the ones that say thank you, so I'm guessing that someone on Scott's team scans these. So, I'll ask you since it seems as if you use this feature. From watching on the screen, the email isn't moved to the new inbox, just copied. The original is still in the main inbox. Is this accurate? I'd really rather it be moved completely.

    Im finding that after setting up multiple inboxes, I now can't use a reading pane. When I select an email normally i would have the reading pane split the view so i can still see the rest of my inbox on one side and the message on the other. Now when i select one it opens the email full screen and i can't see the inbox. Is there a work around to keep my reading pane?

    is there a way to customize the traditional inbox in a way so you dont have to see all the newsletters and unwanted notifications?

    • @Simpletivity
      @Simpletivity  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes, there are a couple of ways to customize your traditional Gmail inbox to hide newsletters and unwanted notifications:
      Leveraging Gmail's Categories:
      Gmail automatically categorizes emails into tabs like "Primary," "Social," "Promotions," and "Updates."
      Newsletters and promotional emails typically get filtered into the "Promotions" tab.
      You can choose to:
      Hide the Promotions Tab: Go to Settings -> See all settings -> Inbox tab. Under "Categories," uncheck the box next to "Promotions" to hide it from your main inbox view.
      Keep the Promotions Tab But Out of Sight: Move the "Promotions" tab to the rightmost side by clicking and dragging it. This keeps it accessible when needed but minimizes its visual clutter.
      Using Filters:
      Filters are powerful tools in Gmail that let you automatically sort emails based on specific criteria.
      You can create filters to move newsletters and unwanted notifications out of your inbox. Here's a basic approach:
      Open a newsletter email you want to filter.
      Click the three dots (ellipsis) in the top right corner of the email.
      Select "Filter emails like this."
      In the new window, you can choose what to do with future emails with similar criteria (sender address, keywords in the subject line, etc.). You can choose to archive, label, or delete them automatically.

How can I stop receiving one email which I received the same email through the rest of five email addresses that I have. • @craigmadison4326
    @craigmadison4326 Před 3 měsíci

    Hi Scott, The problem I'm having is the way gmail moves whole email exchanges to the "Sent" category when I reply to an email in my inbox. If I use the multiple inbox idea you teach here to make a "Starred" inbox category, will inbox conversations I reply to remain in the new "Starred" inbox I create (so I can easily refer to them on my gmail homepage)... rather than gmail moving the whole conversation to the separate "Sent" category?

    • @Simpletivity
      @Simpletivity  Před 3 měsíci

      Any sent email will appear within the Sent view. But don't think of it as moving the email, think of it as more of a view or filter. If emails you reply to automatically move from your inbox or where you replied to, that would be because of a filter you may have applied (or using the Send + Archive button). In your example here, the Starred emails would stay within that view.

    I would probably use this method to create a kind of a unified inbox. I'd import my Yahoo and Outlook emails, label them and creat Inboxes.
    My question: are these going to be reflected in any way in the Android app?

    • @Simpletivity
      @Simpletivity  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I love your idea of using this to merge other email providers. As for the app, it won't be displayed the same. But you could use labels to make them stand out as an alternative.

      Right now (after trying many) I am using eMClient on my Windows PC and AquaMail on my Android phone. Not as if this is not OK but I'm curiously trying to find a "one-app-only" solution.
