- The LA Lakers lost 108-95 to the Memphis Grizzlies last night, dropping back to .500 on the season and sitting in seventh in the Western Conference. LeBron James became the fifth player in NBA history to get 100 career triple-doubles in the loss, but that didn't make the outcome any better, as afterwards he said quote: 'I hate losing. Frustrated from the loss and how we played at times during the game.' Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe rate how disappointing the Lakers' loss on a scale of 1-10.

Start AD, Lebron, Reeves, Wayne and Russ. Dwight(AD), Melo(Lebron), THT(Reaves), Monk(Wayne & Russ) coming of the bench. You cannot play most guard minutes with THT, Russ and Avery Bradley in total they tried 6 3pt attempts, with AD shooting 18 percent from 3's. The opponents are crowding the paint, how on earth you are going to score and rebound with literally no spacing. Avery Bradley is not the lock down defender he once used to be, he is severely undersized, to maintain 3pt percentage he won't even attempt 3pter unless it's wide open. THT is best suited when Lebron or Russ is off the floor he is poor 3pt shooter as well. I like Vogel but he needs to change to modern era with pace and space. you cannot play hard nose tough physical defense with undersized guards and old Dwight and injury prone AD.

If he plays another big he has to play Ellington or Monk who can't defend along with Westbrook and Lebron. If he plays AD at 5 and Melo or Lebron then that's 0 defense at the 4/ or 3 and he still needs shooters to Space the Floor. So all he can do is keep changing linups and hope somebody Steps up. He has very little options. With Caruso, KCP, Kuz the Lakers could Run PnR/P with LBJ and AD and kick out to shooters, now they can't and KCP and Caruso were good Defenders as Well. Lebron threw 2-3 half court lobs to AD that were all picked off. THT can't play defense, shouldn't be starting. Westbrook was being careless again. AD looked disinterested and didn't post up at all. Mistakes all get highlighted especially when they lose. THT is the biggest problem on this team. Bane lit him up for 10 or 12 points in the first few minutes of the game. If you just watch THT play defense you quickly realize he has no idea what he's doing, doesn't know how to jump the screen and gives wide open shots over and over again. Ariza better look competent when he returns or this team is going to get restructured by the trade deadline. I think it all starts with THT getting traded for anything more useful than a waste of 10 million dollars.
They gotta keep THT, they just need to change his role. No way he should have more or equal FGA than AD, LBJ or Westbrook.
And those half court passes from LBJ were so lazy, they almost looked like he threw them in slow motion, no fire on the ball at all.

The main reason I feel Shannon has the best commentary in sports is summed up in one word "Humility". People don't even realize this Man is a Hall of Famer. He is giving his opinion on sports due to his love for the "game", no matter which sport is in question he comments from a fans perspective first with validity spawned from him being a player but not just a run of the mill average player who in his favorite words," he stealing money", he played at a high level for the majority of his career and won far more than he lost and he was a contributor and focal point for more than one organization which also let's you know that it wasn't just a system or a coach or a collection of players, it was his skill set. He is also shamefully honest at times but respectable always because he knows how it feels to be criticised by media from a player's perspective so he is always mindful of his words and doesn't make it personal while being critical of the person's play or performance but he absolutely holds all accountable for the shortcomings and gives praise for the accomplishments. In his words"I am a truth teller". That he is and he doesn't shy away from political questions and points out racism at every level and no matter the personality. My vote for the best who ever done it.....

End of the day, if it’s turnovers that just shows a lack of effort. And as a lot of the guys are older that’s usually ok because you have the younger guys kinda push you along to some extent but that’s not going to happen here. Everyone expected everything to be ok when LBJ got back but now AD isn’t exactly doing well…. You can’t have all these different issues and not play defence and not hustle and turn the ball over and expect to win. The least they can do is hang their hat on defence, LBJ should be able to kinda let the foot of the gas as he gets older, not have to shoulder AD’s slack as well. Whatever AD is doing he needs to stop and get a new trainer or something because that man couldn’t stay healthy and consistent if his life depended on it and it’s damaging to himself and the team as a whole 🤷♂️
