  • If you know me even the tiniest bit then you know how much love I have for these Eldorados! I’ve been wanting to do a buyers guide for a while on one. I love sharing my knowledge of these beautiful automobiles. In my eyes one of the most beautiful ever built. I point out what to look for and details that are sometimes missed. I love and cherish original and preserved examples. To me these are pieces of art. As the old saying goes. They are only original once. If you would like any help or information on one of these don’t hesitate to call. I love hearing about them and helping people along the way.

I just found your video through searching information about the 1979-1985 Cadillac Eldorados. Sir may i say it was a total pleasure listening to you speak about all the details. I thought i knew alot about these cars but you taught me so much about so many different details that i had to watch the video a second time. You are a true expert on these cars and i love that you try to appreciate the originally of them. There is nothing more satisfying to me than someone who takes pride in keep a car original as the day it left the factory. Amazing video.

I always liked the look of those cars, and agree that older cars, and trucks for that matter should be left as they left the dealership. That being said these cars were not the most dependable car,as that was the period of time, when the Cadillac Motor Division

Great overview--- I've owned two of these and one coupe --- all three with the 4100 HT engine. One of mine developed the "death rattle," and my friend and I replaced the original with an Olds small block 260, carburetor engine... Amazingly, the 4100 distributor not only mechanically fit, the engine's timing responded to the ecm prompts, and everything worked well. Of course, there was no auto idle . The touring suspension is far superior to the standard that I owned on the coupe, and that's a huge plus. I owned the 83 coupe for 25 years--- drove it 317,000 miles and always drove it carefully. THanks for the video

Very interesting story. I cannot believe everything would work with the distributor. Good to know for the future. 317,000 miles wow very impressive. Thank you for watching my videos.

Love the Cadillac especially the early years like this Eldorado. They always catch my eye even though I daily drive a Lincoln town car as my daily 2010 L body former private LIMO.

I just love this Convertible and hopefully one day I can run across one forsale for a reasonable price. I own a 85 eldorado with 76k for the last 8 years. When I purchased it ..it had 30,426 miles. After a couple of years of sitting in the driveway I had to drive it...I also love the Triple yellow 💛 eldorado you own as well. I wish I could be you for one day. I would put 5 miles on each eldorado 🤣 nice video bud👍🏾

I didn't want to come across as being harsh about the Seville. It does have potential to be restored. Very good history on the Eldorado. I myself have a hard top '84 Biarritz. Same interior and luxury red carpet. You won't find that anymore. Almost like mouton carpet. Supposedly after a certain serial number on '85 GM made some changes to the HT4100 but no one can confirm that. Definitely they went to cast aluminum valve covers in '85. Prior yrs the stamped covers leaked. Some time in the period before '85 I believe GM also used stamped chrome covers for a while. I use Rotella oil in mine. The same as I use in my GMC Duramax diesel truck. I add some Archoil additive also. Yeah been there and broke a thermostat housing. Oh fudge pronounced differently.

    Love the video George!
I bought an Eldorado Biarritz convertible in August. It’s white with carmine red interior.
The rear right window does not go down. When I hit the switch, the motor makes noise. Also, it looks like the power antennas was taken out and an aftermarket filler piece was put on top. Can I put one back in? Any ideas. I see them for sale.
It has a service now light on and occasionally loses power on highway - basically it’s running too rich. Any ideas? The engine off highway is quiet and smooth - no skips. I did a tune up myself - sparks, spark wires, egr valve, PCV valve, air filter, distributor cap and rotor. And some other things. When I bought it I tested to see if the coolant was leaking into the engine with a pressure test and it is not. There is also no gunk. So I am confident that the can shaft is fine and the engine is fine. Just having a hard time troubleshooting.
    Thank you, Elijah
