I think one of the most persuasive arguments in favor of listening to people you disagree with is to make sure you know what they REALLY think. Lots of people think they know what someone they dislike thinks, but they don't. They have reacted to caricatures of that person and haven't ever really heard them in their own words. How many people actually HATE JK Rowling -- literal bone-deep roiling HATE -- and yet have no idea what she actually SAID and have never read her words?
You NEED to listen to people you disagree with, even just to make sure that you know what they really think. Otherwise, you lay yourself open to being manipulated into hatred by someone who will simply lie to you about what that person said or thinks for their own reasons. You may learn that you've been lied to about that person and they are inoffensive or that you actually agree with them. You may find that yes, you disagree with them but they aren't quite the Satan you've been led to believe, or you may find out that that person is indeed the @$$h*le you think they are. But without listening to them unfiltered, how do you know?
Revulsion and worse, hate, is expensive. It takes a lot out of you. You can't fling it around cheaply, and not without making DAMNED sure it's warranted.

32:58 “You have the right to protest as long as it doesn’t interfere”
I imagine that when you zoom this in to interpersonal exchanges (where even small interruptions are the norm), the turn-taking of speakers is established by those present, who are ideally fair and reasonable referees
37:36 “Nobody has a right to be invited to speak on campus”
51:25 “Limiting the amount of money that you can spend to advance a message necessarily limits the extent to which you can communicate your message. It is an abridgment of free speech”
58:12 “A true threat or intimidation, where the speaker intends a reasonable fear on the part of the subject audience”

Sad that this has to broken down at such a granular level….seems pretty obvious to me.
