    Let's talk about the ceiling of Detroit Red Wings Lucas Raymond, and the thought that he could project similarly to Tampa Bay Lightning superstar Nikita Kucherov.

    Raymond has the hunger, he's beginning to believe.

    Raymond is a stud. His singlehanded determination to drag the rest of the team to competitiveness is great to see.

      I wouldn’t say singlehanded. Larkin has been great also and he inspires the team, and is clutch. Seider has 200 blocked shots and 200 hits which hasn’t been done in 16 years. Future looks great for this team!

    Raymond is the points leader for the Wings. Larkin is second, and that’s with Raymond playing on the 2nd line most of the season.

      If Raymond is skating with Kane and DeBrincat, he’s probably got 20-30 more points. Larkin has played in 14 fewer games though, he’d probably have another 10-15 points if he didn’t miss so much time. But as they say; the best ability is availability and Lucas has been available for all 80 games thus far.
      Here’s some random trivia, in their history, only 3 Red Wings have recorded 4 points in a game as a rookie. Their names?
      1. Gordie Howe
      2. Steve Yzerman
      3. Lucas Raymond (Oct 24, 2021)

    Razor has breathed new hope and life into this team. He should have an "A" on his chest next season imo. Even if he isn't a big vocal presence in the locker room, his play, effort and determination on the ice is enough to get the guys motivated to win.

    As unfair as it is, the success of the Wings rebuild may depend on Raymond becoming an superstar forward like that. Idk if he will get anywhere near Kuch, but if he can get to be a consistent 90+ pt player for us, then we might be alright. This season has done nothing but give me confidence that he can at least become that 🙏

  • @ericscottstevens
    @ericscottstevens Před měsícem

    I think Kuch has a stronger skating base. He is hard to knock around in heavy traffic and work better along the boards.
    Still most scouting reports had Lucas as too slight in stature and not built for the rigors of the physical NHL.
    No initial first step as good not elite.

      He put on 20 pounds of muscle before this season, and he’s been great on the boards and in the corners when he’s needed to be. He’ll keep improving that.
