You need a white chrome powder! It is more sheer so the lavender will show through more :)

You need more of the aurora type of chrome!! You used the metallic type that looks best on a black base like some others already mentioned 😊 the aurora chrome powders are more sheer looking and give the tint look. You could still get a lavender colored metallic chrome and it would look amazing, you just have to swatch it and test it out first bc with most chrome powders it’s kinda hard to tell what it’ll actually look like just from the pot
It didin't turn out lavender because you didin't use the right crome,there are 2 tipes of crome(I think) the tipe of crome you used looks best on black nail polish, but they turned out amazing❤

The reason why the chrome turned the polish silver chrome but you need to use a pearl chrome. Still so pretty ❤❤

You needed, as someone mentioned, a white chrome as in donut glaze powder or specifically an "aurora" chrome. Also, those are the white powders that you apply for iridescent chromes and the base color will shine through. The powders that are pastel colored work great too. 😊

aw tysm, I really try to take care of them! I apply lotion daily as well as cuticle oil, and slather them up before bed so they get nice and hydrated overnight. I plan on doing a whole video about it, but some of my favorites are:

FYI- You have to use a water based top-coat to seal in the chrome whenever it’s over top of regular polish. Maniology has 2 that work great!

You’re welcome! You can also put the chrome over any regular polish as long as it’s still *slightly* tacky (I’ve experimented a lot with chrome powders trying to avoid gel). Nothing beats the finish with gel but it just sucks to remove.

I am really weird when it comes to nail shapes because I’m very picky about it. I’ve had my ring, middle and pinky finger square shaped for as long as I can remember and my pointer and thumb a bit more of an almond shape. Here is a tip for chrom nail! You need a layer of clear nail polish on that lavender theeeen put chrome on that. Also you bought silver chrome not clear mirror chrome 😊

I read somewhere that when you use a water-based topcoat it keeps the chrome looking like chrome? (If that makes sense) Basically, it doesn't end up looking sparkly, and a comment down below explained that there are two types of chrome powders which is true ( there might be more I think?) , there are mirror chromes (they end up covering the base colour, so it doesn't come through and they look like mirrors) and there are the "aurora" chrome powders and sheer chrome powders ( which actually show the base colour more ) ❤

i literally just did the same thing - removed the old rubber base layers and shortened my nails, currently have a square shape too but it was like that before, and one nail broke off just 1 day after i redid them 😭😭 curse you square 😭

Well, actually no, square nails,(timeless nail shape) is one of the strongest nail shapes because it respects the full width of the nail, a square shape nail can withstand bumps and stress much better than their curved or rounded counterparts.

I have been on the process of growing out my nails after biting them for most of my life. My biggest struggle is how low the free edge starts - there's just more room where the nail is not tightly structured to my finger, more room for the nails to get caught on things and break. So, while I know a rounded shape would be better for growing them past my fingertips, for the nails that grow in straight, I cannot ever shape them rounded because they always break before gaining enough length to shape them. I'm not sure what to do :/

For me, I also used to bite and what helped me was having paint on my nails which tasted bad, keeping my nails and skin clear of snags and peels so there’s nothing to bite on, and finding something else to fiddle with like a ring :) I hope this helps! 🫶🏻
