Also.. excellent rebuttal on the Brian May and BBC badger programme… beautifully done. Felt very proud of you giving calm reasoned factual information instead of the hysterical emotional hype we get bombarded with
Hi Charlotte It’s very rare I comment on any of your videos but I do watch & enjoy them all (not too sure about the singing though) but I was so impressed by your excellent rebuttal of Sir Brian May & the BBC video, I just hope those that watched it are not swayed just because he was a rock star & has a platform for which he should be using to help farmers & the excellent work they do daily not only around the farms but in maintaining our countryside & wildlife for the good of everyone Thank you Alan 👍👍
Thanks for this video Charlotte please show what every is going on around your farm. The reason why I started following you was that you covered different aspects of your farming life informing none farmers like myself. That along with your sense of humour you brighten my day. As far as Brian May I didn’t watch the program as every other time he’s been on TV he never listened to other people’s views. The attitude he has sickens me thinking he’s always right. There should be a second program with farmers and the scientists points broadcast. It’s ok for these people they aren’t losing their livelihood or home. Keep on spreading your side of the story
I’m like you and didn’t watch the program as I knew I would end up shouting at the telly. Someone from a badger rescue came and gave a talk at the WI I belong to and answered questions at the end. There were several farmers wives there and it ended up getting very heated as the so called badger expert just condemned farmers out of hand and wouldn’t listen to anyone else’s point of view. He decided that he was right and everyone else was wrong. I guessed the program would be the same, looks like I was right.
Well said Charlett, farming needs the the people with the growing popular social media presence to articulate the true aspects , control measures farmers and vets put in place to protect our cattle and wildlife from Btb.👍 quite often the cheap simple machines are the best time and labour savers👍 Mag flakes in the calving field and also in the with the milkers could help prevent MF . Some beautiful looking calves 👍
Excellent Charlotte, people have to understand that the countryside might be a wonderful beautiful place to live & work in, it is a working enviroment & issues have to be dealt with, the badger is top of the food chain, it does not have any natural predation in the UK, there are far too many of them & as you say the "Cull" is working, in Worcestershire the results are amazing, TB is down by a large %.. Of course we have to keep it down, there are also the Deer to consider!
i like the normal day to day stuff, it don't have to be all drama, I get board of to much drama. that why I like olly's daily videos its just what he is doing.
Would love to see the good and the not so good please. Appreciate the sight of a cute calf doing calf things please. But I would be grateful for what ever you put out cos it’s your personality that amuses me ….the joy for life you have…matter of fact take on whatever life throws at you ….thank you❤
Glad youve got a silage pusher- its best to wait until a certain amount has been eaten, then just wizz down not pushing too much, back up and do the same, 2- 3 times if needed, that way you dont get silage all over the place. Putting calcium in a vien, neck or milk vein is hard unless the cow is pretty spaced out. Milk vein is easy as you can see it well, not always accessable if cows sitting up. You can get calcium pumps, for use with bottles, they will put calcuim under the skin pretty quick, not for vein use. Ideal for that cow you got halfway thro a bottle n she buggered iff and yea, soon as i saw her eyes i said they dont look quite right, so agree with you. Wots happened to her?? Cheers charlotte, loving my dairy dose, miss the job.
Charlotte we all know how good you are at looking after your animals on your farm but sometimes things go wrong but it don’t make you a bad farmer. You are an amazing lady and I love watching your videos.
The good the bad and the ugly it's all farming and the way you portray all aspects of your farm are both informative and entertaining and I enjoy it all and have loved watching the journey and adventure with you so just keep doing what you do and get Roy on camera more. I must confess I watched a recent facebook reel of you dancing in the rain under a blocked gutter which was very funny which is a good thing because as farmers we tend to take ourselves rather seriously and moments of madness/silliness shows we are human and are capable of laughing at ourselves as well
Seeing the routine is just as interesting but perhaps less detail and explanation than the challenging cases? Whatever - your choice is why we are here. Good for you on the Brian May approach. I'm fed up with rock stars banging on about things like this.
Great video Charlotte Nice little silage pusher, with the calcium there's no right or wrong way to do its what you feel most comfortable with yes in the vein probably works quicker than under the skin but there's not a lot in it I used to put in the milk vein or under the skin the herdsman on our other dairy unit used to put in the vein in the neck so its each to their own. Your cows are so friendly and docile Nice to see the BBC being impartial NOT
I love seeing the everyday things you do .did I see you got a conveyor belt for the cows feed ,have you put it up yet or have I got mixed up with something else 😂❤
I love your video content Charlotte they are very informative to a non farmer and enjoyable and funny 💯👌 so don't change anything, please and aviation up date love it and I wish for the day it lands in your field 💯👌❤️ and that new baby calf is a woppa. Oh, and yes, what happened to that other hide you were going to do ? Xx
no wonder i call you charlotte smiley . you are a happy laughing lady in the video. silage pusher. did you buy it or make it. less of the poorly cow phase please. thats my nickname. lol. spelt pauley. i suppose ill let you off. all in a days work for a charlotte smiley. bucks county show on thursday 29th. hopefully the holstiens/ sorry and jerseys will be there. you went tractor pulling at great eccleston . aint it good seeing all that power. keep smiley and happy . hello children at the start of the videos. where did that come from . its like youre catchphase. it works well. have a lovely day everyone.
I would just say the silage pusher looks great but wants to be wider .to keep the bob cats dirty wheels running on the silage . After you pushed it up but not impossible to do.
You couldn't make a boring video if you tried Charlotte, keep on putting out what you want to put out and don't second guess what people want to see. Your CZcams likes or dislikes will tell you if you need to do something different, loved the "Rug" comment 🤫😉. And Team Bobcat loading the trailer, well they say teamwork is dreamwork. 👍. As for the BBC programme I have to agree, that's what happens when a "Superstar" with a large media pull puts forward an ill conceived theory without fact checking. Why is nothing said about culling Deer because they also spread BTB !
How is Sir Brian May Phd (in astrophysics), a qualified person in regards to btb and the badger population. He’s a known activist in this area, so has his own conclusion determined from the outset. He’s just there because of his notoriety, and a desire to push hi biased, and unfounded beliefs, on others.
Rather than using wipes when cleaning teats before drying cow off have you considered using surgical spirits and cotton wool, does a way better job at cleaning the teats.
Just had one that tried to take me out to be fair she was very naughty, I wouldn’t have videoed that one I put her leg up in the foot lifter so she couldn’t kick me
Hi Charlotte the tyre sealant might not be as successful on a quad tyre as it needs pressure to force the sealant into the hole and as quad tyres run at low psi it does not always work

Well said young lady! I watched and the more I watched the more frustrated I became, truth of the matter is mr. May is a well intentioned amateur and he has absolutely no idea what he is talking about unfortunately the production team FAILED to do any meaningful research into the issue and basically produced a puff piece that was neither factually accurate or informative. Badgers have TB they spread TB that is a fact! Unfortunately badgers are not afforded the dignity of being humanly euthanised when they get sick with this disease unlike farm animals no they are first evicted from their home ( set) by their family members and anyone who has witnessed this will attest that it is vicious, then they are isolated and sick and endure a slow and lingering death undoubtedly very painful when the tb spreads to their bones, but they are wild animals and are just left to suffer and continue to spread the disease until they die! Unfortunately the reality is that we have missed the boat when it comes to eliminating this disease, because it is now endemic in wildlife, in our area deer are the major vector for the spread of tb and badgers are still an issue but they are not the main vector anymore. I could go on and on but I won’t , suffice to say as far as I am concerned we have to realistic and adapt to the fact that now we are talking about mitigation and not eradication. Sorry for the rant but as you might gather I am somewhat invested in this subject. Regards from Ireland oh on a lighter note you are either the jammyest person on the internet or you staged that trailer, cause I have a jeep like that and it is without doubt the least manoeuvrable jeep in the world and least likely to be able to put a trailer in a shed jackknifed to perfection, I noticed that this amazing feat of driving skill was not recorded but I am willing to admit that you Charlotte are an amazing driver! ( or just lucky! Did you do the lottery) great video as usual!

Birds nest soup for Dinner. 😊😅😊😅
For rubber/neoprene I use 10mm bit for 8mm hole. You are plated both sides so no worries there!
Got 5 sets on and around the farm of Badgers. God, they don't half make a mess, though nearly as bad as them f in moles!!!

I think that the cow may have offended by hearing you say that "I have never seen such a fat cow in my life"
i know jerseys are sensitive to the cold weather more than most other breeds
Dont blame yourself - things happen and youve learnt to help prevent them moving forward. wasnt your fault
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Interesting video
Use an old tractor back tyre for the pusher as the bigger wheel will turn easier
Nice knee socks and black leggings!! That brand are both?
Rather than using wipes when cleaning teats before drying cow off have you considered using surgical spirits and cotton wool, does a way better job at cleaning the teats.
thats stupid
Are they all as easy to dry off as that one?? Most of our b & w's like to dance a bit.
Just had one that tried to take me out to be fair she was very naughty, I wouldn’t have videoed that one I put her leg up in the foot lifter so she couldn’t kick me
Hi Charlotte the tyre sealant might not be as successful on a quad tyre as it needs pressure to force the sealant into the hole and as quad tyres run at low psi it does not always work
Hi Martyn Air-Seal works on 2psi and above. It works really well on quad bike tyres and also seals any leaky rims or beads 🤗💪
Air Seal won’t work on the silage pusher upper tyre
It's not a Lely Juno but at least it's red 😎😂😂
how long do you keep the calfs for and what happens to them
gret video misses well said o btb statement
Could you not move that bale of straw with the other bobcat or ur green teleporter
Come on Charlotte - who expects unbiased programming from BBC? I know you know him and I'm sure you have seen Gareths response, and he was on the programme.
Yes I spoke to him when we watched the preview
Front tyre of a tractor would fit the pusher better that’s what I did and worked better
