I'm convinced the only reason Daigo plays Akuma is because of his fireballs
I surprised more people didn't say this from day one.
You are completely correct and that IS his reason. Daigo's choice of character is always heavily weighed by how useful the projectiles are... This is one of his downsides. The game is no longer ruled by projectiles and he needs to change his entire approach. But I can understand that literal decades of ingrained experience is near impossible to change.
@@ozzyosbourne5866 also because he has better normals than Ryu. And more damaging combo routes. In summary does ryu's job better than him even when not used properly.

Daigo playstyle of footsies and and fireballs are better suited for Ryu. Akuma is an agressive fighter , watch Angrbird , Fujimura or Punk to watch Akuma used optimally.
Akuma ironically has the best FB in the game though. Capcom kind of got it backwards between Akuma and Ryu lol.
Akuma's special skill does 70% damage. Unfair

Everyone shitting on daigo for not using Akuma optimaly but never talk about tokido's disgusting confirms. Washed up combo routes and unoptimal punishes.
It just goes to show, and it's sickening, that there's a massive gap between non pro Master players and these guys, and yet another gap between these two, and ANOTHER gap between them and say Punk or anyone near the top.

Hello. I went to check the last 10 videos where Daigo appears to analyze. Out of 14 matches, he lost 8 and won 6. We are only talking about the last 10 videos and only videos from the channel here, you know what this means? Nothing...hahahaha it means that anyone who plays at a high level can lose and can win, just like it happens with you or me. But thanks for the comment anyway.
You're only seeing selected matches against the other like top 10 players in the world. For every one match you watch against tokido or hotdog or bonchan or whoever, there are 100s of others he's beating
This is 2 masters who refuse to play modern SF, and still get by on talent alone. Imagine Tokido stuck with Akuma and actually made use of him. We could have Evo 2017 again
