Halloween nothing to do with Día de Muertos! This celebration is to honor our loved ones who passed away, not for monsters, witches, clowns, etc. Anyway so beautiful video and it deserves a like!

We know that. We were just saying that it felt more like Halloween with people dressed in all sorts of scary costumes.

Well, to understand why when walking through a tourist plaza you don't feel those día de muertos vibes, you have to understand the nature of the holiday, this
decorations and ofrendas in the squares is something more modern, mainly for tourists, how locals generally celebrate it is at home, is in an intimate thing to remember their deceased relatives, but the holiday became mainstream, so the vibes are found in the cemeteries, in the houses or in little towns, In tourist areas you will find just entertainment

It does feel like Halloween, but if you haven't done so yet, visit the local cemeteries. That's where you will get the true feel and meaning of Day of the Dead celebrations in Mexico. DoD is more than just dressing up in colorful outfits. When you see the ofrendas and candles and flowers gracing the local cemeteries with the families honoring their dead, you will truly feel the spirit and energy of DoD.

Hey guys! next time you visit México City for day of the dead, I recommend you do invest in some quality facepaint, the artist in Coyoacán this time was Damayanti and she had won numerous awards in facepaint internationally, also, many makeup artists like me, prepare all year long with quality paints and techniques to bring you the best Catrina makeup and it really hurts us to see many people prefer the cheaper unhygenic informal makeup stands. Say no to pandas and yes to real catrinas done with professional makeup artists. 😍

Hey hey! We wanted to get some professional make up done on October 29th (you can watch that video) during the parade but we literally found 0 make artists in the historical square so we just did it ourselves. Then in Coyoacan we didn’t want make up and weren’t looking to get anything done, just wanted to check out the atmosphere 🙂 thanks for your comment. I am sure you and that person you mentioned are superb artists 🤩
