And that's good to know where you come from reared in the church. That's why all the musians that George Duke, Stanley Clarke, Kirk Whalum, Rachelle Ferrell, Deniece Williams, Howard Hewett, Larry Kimpel, Nathan East and others they shared a kinship bond of friendship/relationship with each other and each one are born again Christian ppl and they share their belief/testimonies everywhere they go. That's a blessing to. We need more celebrities who profess their faith and who represents Jesus Christ everywhere they go whether in the NBA, NFL MLB, NHL, FILM, Wrestling Promotions, yess!! I needed to share that. U see here if you are tuning in this is another example of what it means to pay tribute to God and honor him with a hymnal(s). Christ Is All. My God this here gospel/inspirational music have u teary-eyed and because it's touching and moving.

Kirk Whalum is the " David of the bible " with regards to the saxophone ..
He plays the instrument very soulful...🙏🙏🙏..no wonder Whitney Houston had to have him in her band

Yes I must say too that Kirk Whalum and Everette Harp never forgot where they came from their gospel roots- Let me make sure that I got this right; Kirk Whalum is from Nashville, TN and Everette Harp Is from Houston, TX and they both were reared up in church ⛪️. Everette's father was a Minister and Kirk Whalum grandfather was a Minister as well and his uncle was a musician his name was Kenneth "Peanuts" Whalum and his son Kyle Whalum is a bass player who also played on gospel according to jazz chapter 2 kirk whalum held Wes Angelas C.OG.I.C.

Here are a few corrections... Kirk is from Memphis, Tn where his Dad was the late Pastor Kenneth Whalum Sr. Everette's Father was also a Pastor in Houston, TX. Kirk and Kyle along with their family, resided in Nashville, TN. I know all this because I am also from Memphis and used to go to Kirks Fathers church when Kirk would come into town from Texas Southern. Eric Darius also got his start from playing in church as well.
