I was lucky to see Soundgarden during this time when I was in high school in Seattle. Their insane heaviness and Chris' jaw dropping voice - AND looks - had us 17-yr olds just totally FLOORED! Became a life long fan ever since. Thanks for posting!
@@capricornonthetube71923 If the bands played an all-ages show like a hall, dance club or skating rink I'd usually go. In 1987 we trekked up to Vancouver BC Canada to see SG at a club called Graceland since you only had to be 18 to get into bars back then. I even chatted with Chris a bit. :) Around 1988-89 I saw Mother Lovebone, and later the 2nd show by Mookie Blaylock (both early Pearl Jam bands) and of course Alice In Chains several times - some parties too! Once I turned 21 then the Vogue, Off Ramp, Central Tavern, Rckndy, and Crocodile Cafe were a blast- and fortunately bands were still playing smaller shows at times. We didn't realize it as that special back then because it was all we knew, but looking back on it was defintely a magical time! :)
@@Periwinklie yes u right.. all the 90's were magical and in that moment you don't realize it won't last forever.. And so u was really into it to even chatted with Chris and mother love bone and soundgarden together.. How much before Andy Wood, rip, died?
it's comforting to see that even they struggled to be in sync sometimes haha, the beginning of the song is a bit rough. They became so much tighter over the years it's impressive
Chris seems to be oblivious to the rest of the world here, not fully conscious of his surroundings once the music takes a hold of him, but just embodying this song on his own terms (or maybe he was drunk). Either way, I absolutely love it.
No way, this recording isn't even listed on Louderthanlive! So much better quality than the 86 and 88 footage too. Incredible find! edit: was added to Louderthanlive super quick after this upload
I can't quite remember but, I hope I was at this show! Lol. I saw SO many shows at The Central! One of my favorite Haunts at that time. RIP CC LOUD LOVE FOREVER What a Gem this is. I have seen the footage from a show at a little club in the U-District that was really early but this is The Shit! Thank You for Sharing.
That insane vocal power on the high notes with that depth, distortion and rage - yet all the chill face like nothing is happening.. Brutality! Thank you kind sir for this video!
@@ccsg1313 Hiro on the base and baby Cornell on the drums would surely be a sight to behold. Fuck the pyramids, if I could go back in time I’d rather watch that
Insane!!! Chris's voice oohh my goodness!! Soo different and original, love Soundgarden ❤️🤘 Remind me of alittle Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath mashed together, that was awesome!! 😊❤️🤘💓🔥
…a bit of Jim Morrison too in the lower register vocals. What a combination! Exactly how I would imagine Black Sabbath circa 1970 with Jim and Robert singing for them.
😳😳 wow. If i didn't see this I would still regard Staley and Cornell at about equal level. I still really love Staley, but he would never be able to pull this off.
Hiro was an incredible bass player and he may not have had the song writing ability of Ben Shepherd but I like Hiros bass playing better. It more distinctive and more creative and busier without being to busy .
Chris was certainly beautiful but he didn’t seem aware that he was hot…no stories of groupies surrounded him, Susan was one lucky lady and to think she was 6 years older than Chris…Wow
Man once he starts singing in the 4th octave it's freaking insane sounding. The beginning sounded like a Kim and Chris slow sludge train crash lol. Is that the Asian bass player before Ben? He sounds like Geezer Butler at the end.
It's Hiro Yamamoto the band's original member who was replaced by Nirvana rythm guitarist Jason Everman in 1989... Then Jason left and Ben Sheperd took his place....
never understood why they didn’t like ultramega ok. it doesn’t really sound massively different from this or the reissued versions to me? but i guess i just don’t get it lol.
Maybe it’s just my ears but the original ultramega ok mix sounded kinda flat. One good example is if you listen to the studio version of flower vs the John peel sessions version, it’s almost like a different song. The live mix punches you in the face compared to the studio version.

Beautiful
I would give anything to heard them live especially in the late 80😢
Yes u were..the luck of who is living in Seattle.. So u must ve even went to other bands as all the others famous over there that time 😀

Chris just opens his mouth and excellence fall out. It just seemed effortless for him
I'm fucking excited everytime you upload something, rightfully so. I think I haven't seen Soundgarden that early yet.
@@ccsg1313 they formed in 85 so it doesn’t get much earlier than that but yes this footage is something else
@@ccsg1313 Oh ty for correcting me thought it was 85. Man would be awesome to see some footage of that, probably with Cornell on the drums

Great find fopp era
Happy Birthday Chris ❤️
Damn never seen any soundgarden footage from the 80’s at all
OMG!!! What a find!!!!! My favourite song ever!!!
🤍🤘🏽🤍🤘🏽🤍
Wow man, sick find ❤️
How freaking high was Kim couldn't find the drum beat to save his life

…and/or Ian Gillan (Deep Purple) instead of or as well as Robert Plant.
Those ballistic highs compare to nobody. Plant, Gillan, Halford, not even Dio could come close to Cornell's body at this range.
Chris looks and acts like Jim Morrison in this
Saudações do Brasil! Amamos Soundgarden
amamos mesmo :)
Simmmm
I love this!!!!! Ultra omega ok is my favorite all time album!!!!! Thanks for posting!!!!
Blimey! Rodney Orpheus vibes at the beginning there
YES!!!
they were babiessssssssssss
Any more footage from this show? Please upload if so🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Best Rocket ever 😍🔥
They have the screaming life sound going on here big-time.
it's that purple Ibanez chorus pedal that Kim used to put on everything
I wonder if anybody has footage of them as a trio with Chris on drums and vocals???
This is so very cool. Not a load of footage from this era. Total Fucking Godhead.
Kim is pancakes,
Hiro is Japanese abby,
Chris is scott,
The drummer is Ray.
Awesome
Players
Kim pancakes on guitar
Abby Jane on guitar
Scott vocals
Ray drums
Really gets going at 1:47 but WTF does Chris do at 5:08 to 5:11? So Cool!
Basically what they did was just turn reverb up all the way on his mic and he just repeated the phrase
Niiiice
let's be honest, the timing of the instruments at the beginning is awful but the rest is master class
Subjective kiddo
an analogy would be waking up. That's masterclass
Has Matt joined by then can’t tell.
Sounds like him.
Matt joined 86
Is there more of this show. It seems like it would have all been recorded? thanks for this...it's amazing!!

Nah, he was way up in the 5th octave and still retaining grit and power
I wonder what other songs they played at this show!
La canción salió en el 88, fue promoción de pre lanzamiento?

h0ly fuck
WTF is going on at the beginning here? But then you soon forget about that when CC goes into his highs!
Poor microphone...
kim is the worst guitarist ever
