Rachel, I really need your advice right now! My dachshund puppy eats everything like a vaccumer. Today he ate raw couscous by accident and has been throwing up all day, eating, throwing up again and eating until there was just foam coming out. But I'm sure he can eat again right now! Two days ago he got into the food bucket of our 6 year old dachshund and helped himself for like 10 min. They all blame me for all that because I'm not feeding him enough. I don't know what to do anymore, please help! It hurts seeing him hurt like this but he eats like everything - pieces of rug, sticks, bird poop, ... you name it, he eats it

Great leash training advice. I am a dog trainer and this is the most common complaint I have from my clients. I have to admit that when some of my pet parents realize how much work it takes to train their dogs to walk properly, they tend to give up. You did a great job explaining the process and how much time and patience is really invloved.

We adopted a 1 year old pug about a week and a half ago. He’s pretty much trained, but he’s pretty reactive on leash because he wants to play with all the other dogs in our apartment community while on his walks! We did everything in this video tonight and he caught on so fast, it was already a MAJOR improvement. THANK YOU!!

Yes! Its exhausting walking a dog, gotta be constantly on alert. Gotta be aware of blind truns and driveways, food on the ground, runners, other dogs, lose dogs, and on top of that, gotta be aware of whats coming out the back end of ones own doggies. I walk with my pack of 4 (used to be 5 😢), and occasionally have to break them up in pairs to do more focused discipline when they forget they have manners. Walking them can be a beautiful relaxing experience, but always always on alert.

When he checks in with me (or maybe he isn't), it is clear that he is focusing more on the treats in my hand or my treat pouch rather than making eye contact. Idk if you remember but I commented a couple weeks ago about how I was really upset about how I thought I was going to have to rehome my puppy. Well good news, I decided not to. I couldn’t do it. He’s stolen my heart. I’m just going to try to work with him. Hes 4 months old and 50 pounds and is already so strong and pulls on the leash so much, especially when he sees another dog. He will go crazy and choke himself and nothing I do draws his attention away from the dog. I have to drag him away on the leash but I feel bad that I could be hurting his neck bc he fights me the whole time. It’s a real struggle. And it’s embarrassing that I can’t control him. And it’s just going to get worse when he gets bigger.

I think your videos are really good on training and obedience but for a walk I think it should be more based on the dog and sure like teach it not to not to tug and not to jump and not run away from you but but I think it should be more about the dog walking and sniffing because actually the point of a walk should be more about smelling because that also gets out their energy more than walking. then it’s less fun for the dog because they want to smell when they go on a walk. you can avoid interactions with other things and that’s fine but I think you should let your dogs smell more and not have to be 2 feet away from you cause that doesn’t really give them a lot of places to smell

Hi there love all your videos! I am getting a puppy in November.
Just wondering - Is there a limit to how many training treats should be given in a day? I’m just worried if my new puppy is having you know 3-4 meals a day + treats will that be too much?

Hi all, I have a 5 month old labradoode. She is pretty good at home and training goes well but as soon as we step outside the door she goes crazy and doesn't listen at all. She gets very overwhelmed and over excited just walking around the block, pulls on the leash and goes so crazy that I have to sit down with her to calm her down. When she sees other dogs or people it makes her worse. I play fetch with her and do some training before we set off to try and get some of her energy out beforehand. I started training with her from 9 weeks and she used to walk ok but it all of a sudden changed. Any help would be appreciated it is stressing me out 😫 and walking her is getting embarrassing. Thanks x

I’ve got an American Akita she’s around 14 weeks, she was never trained before we got her. She’s super distracted outside and will pull hard no ending to it. I can’t get her attention at all at the moment. What should I do? Should I still be walking her outside or continue to just train in our backyard until she learns to focus on me?

You need to have a high value treat like chicken something that to them is the best thing ever. Also when training indoors and outdoors keep them on a training lead so you can correct unwanted behaviour. Training wise start with the basic sit, down they will very soon realise listening to you Is a good thing that they will get a delicious treat hope it all works out x

@@chelseas6991 Thats nice advice and it may work for some but it definitely wouldn’t work for my dog. when they are focused in on a dog and freaking out a treat doesn’t do crap. I’ve tried. My pup is obsessive and really zeros in and there’s no getting to him in that moment. I just have to yank and drag him away while he fights me the whole time.

He didn’t react AT ALL to any dogs for the first time! I think working with him before the walk set the tone for the rest of it, he kept looking back to me for most of it.

Hi thank for all the lovely videos❤
And I have a question if you could help please 🥺
I have an 8 week poodle and he's been with me since he was 5 weeks old. I kept him mostly in his playpen, and now he is completely trained to go potty on pads and when I put pads in his pen he doesn't make any mistakes. But my goal was to move that pad to another corner of the house near the bathroom and now that I have done this and I take him out of his pen to the pad every one or two hours he's not doing so well. He poops on one of my carpets and he soiled his pen last night. I don't know what to do anymore :((
I'm sorry for the long comment and I'd really appreciate any advice.

I think my problem is not enough treats😬its a puppy puppy, 2 months old, and he’s very food motivated. He’s prtty well mannered for his age and works/ listens prtty good. But he’s highly food motivated, not rlly toy motivated (he’ll wait till u stop moving to thenn get it lmao, even with high pitch voice and lots of movement up close and all, still just stares till it stops moving😂) and praise seems like a neutral thing. He likes lovings, but idk about it being his motivation yet. But ig i just need to give more treats, on walks specifically. Inside he’s rlly well. I train with his food. Outside with treats.
