This isn't a live-result, I explain it in the link above, the game is paused everytime there is a comment generating, the result you see here is all the parts merged together, and there are a lot. It means you couldn't have a normal conversation with Lara Croft because each comment takes many minutes to generates.
Lara is still an AI trying to make us believe she is aware, this AI is just good at it because I asked it to take into consideration Lara's personality, it knows her personality because I told it all I knew about Lara Croft. It sounds realistic because of the voice and the "live-effect", but if you only focus on the comments you'll notice it's still a robot, everything it says or does can be explained.
This video shows what happens when you use multiple free AI to make something, this is an example to make people realize the potential of these technologies combine, of couse I didn't made these technologies, they are availbable and you can try them.
Our human brain is still more efficient and having a normal conversation in real life is way more impressive than this demo, we must take time to appreciate it because the fact we are all self-aware is more fascinating than anything, enjoy this crazy capacity and use the AI for good. - Hry

it's just for views and it's all scripted. he hid it in his description before saying it's all fake but then he removed it after episode 2. idk why, no one reads it and it didn't make him look less like a scammer.
I think someone could really achieve like 60% of this at least. concept wise it's a good process, I think it was tested and failed and he just wanted success so bad he faked it.

The later levels are evil.
My favorite moments are always when she integrates actual voice lines from the training. They always catch me off guard and make me laugh.

I love the way AI-Lara got totally immersed in her character yet constantly reminded viewers that she was aware of her being in a game. This kind of mentality is actually not unlike a regular human gamer.

I love this! Lara has always been such a stoic, badass character. Hearing her chuckle and say things like “holy moly!” is hilarious
She was pretty calm for seeing dinosaurs that somehow escaped the KT event. But also pretty funny how she goes from "Thank goodness I'm not easily frightened." To "Okay, time to run."
Sure she had one line questioning it but she was still pretty calm
it's not called running away - It's called a _tactical retreat_ 😂
A couple of things I've noticed:
1) Lara is now more aware of how much she can jump without taking fall damage than previous levels
2) She's avoiding to step on creatures corpes because she didn't like clipping into them.

I love how the Laura Croft AI notices things that I would probably gloss over as a player! It makes it feel like she’s actually living through it rather than playing a game!
I think maybe bc the ai can quickly identify textures that would seem to blend in with the environment to a human
Perhaps because the AI isn't just playing the game, the AI thinks it's actually Lara Croft living in the game world, therefore all of it's experiences are like first hand as if it was there hence why she's even concerned about her dirty boots.
I love this series and while we wait for the next TR game the concept of listening to lara go through her own game is genius and i hope it gets a ton of attention 😎👌

I really hope there is eventually another video discussing these challenges, similar to the first one.
She's shocked me so much with how she makes coherent thoughts about the puzzle pieces, i never thought she would put together that you need to put the gears in the wall and lo-and-behold she goes "im starting to understand, maybe i need to put the gears in that mechanism i found earlier" and i was like "AY YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

So many things about the first Tomb Raider was so perfect. The low poly texture doesn't even take away from it, it just adds to the whole creepy and isolated atmosphere. It was a novel game of it's time and it's still fun today. I like too that it's a game that didn't need a hud, or narrative cutscenes to interfere with immersion. It lets you feel like your on your own to figure everything out and there's no hand holding.
We used to watch people play games, now we watch computers and AI playing them 😂 Love this series! Super interesting how the program was created

I can only imagine how much time it takes. If it's fake, IDK, if it's AI I wouldn't care if you have to take over the controls for the more difficult levels, I'm here for the wonderful Lara voice over. These games were my childhood. TR1 especially!

Only "feature" I am missing would be some kind of mapping, as humans do, to make Lara "remember" which parts of the level she had already seen. Maybe as an addon to the tile collection system.
im loving this. i laughed so hard when she wondered if she closed the manor's door, also is great to see how adventurous she's got, she now jumps further and even came back to check the temple becouse it had to had something or the devs wouldn't have modeled
I remember how much I loved this game. Its the only one I've played, actually, but the balance of puzzle and adventure is masterfully crafted. Lara Croft was all the rage for a minute.
This is so good, amazing, wondrous and at times funny.
I just played through the game so it's gonna be interesting to see what Lara does, and already a minute in she pulls off jumps i had no idea you could do.
I REALLY hope you continue with the entire series, you got some lightning brewing here i think.

This is the coolest series I have ever seen. You sir tapped into a brand new genre of CZcams gaming. Just incredible. It’s like unlocking the character and made them feel more real. I’m just imagining a future where we see Batman Ai play with Kevin Conroy’s Batman voice rip. Or mario game, or an assassins creed, this is fantastic stuff.

These are the greatest videos ever! I can't wait to see Self-Aware Lara Croft play every single game in the series, or maybe other games? There's so much you can do with this. It's hilarious and so authentic, it's amazing.
This has been very entertaining to watch, thanks for taking an experiment and turning it into a series. AI Laura is a comedian, a genius, a scholar, a peaceful monk whenever possible... and a ruthless cold blooded gangster when metaphorically backed into a corner. Excellent work!
This also opens the floodgate to other games, these are mere suggestions based on my personal bias, all of them have voiced audio tracks btw;
*Army Men - Sarge's Heroes (PS1, PC, N64, DC)
The PSX & PC versions feature full dialogue tracks. The thought of an AI Sgt. Hawk waging a one man war against the entire tan army would be hilarious. He would probably be savage and dish out a lot of 3rd degree burns, especially toward general Plastro.
*Spyro The Dragon (PS1)
Spyro is a wonderful game filled with mystery and dreams, an AI Spyro would embark on a remarkable adventure and would likely be in awe of every world he visits. All 3 games would be cool but that's a lotta work tho.
*Resident Evil 3 - Nemesis (PS1)
Not much need to explain this one, AI Jill bravely fighting through zombies would be epic.
*Super Mario 64 (N64 obviously)
I know its cliche but if you jump on it now you'd be among the first to do it, who knows what all crazy shit AI Mario would say and do.
A few other mentions just to throw out there and see what sticks; Ape Escape (PS1), Shadow of the Colossus (PS2), Gex 3 - Deep Cover Gecko (PS1, N64), Super Mario Sunshine (GCN), Oddworld - Abe's Oddysee (PS1, PC), Oddworld - Stranger's Wrath (multi-plat), Twisted Metal III (PS1). All of these have dialogue track samples for their playable characters as well.

I am in the comment section now because of the puzzles, which are not possible for an AI to solve. For example, It can not recognize where it is. The bridge is very significant for humans, but the AI does not understand its surroundings. The way-finding algorithm does not work in this way. It is just attraction-driven and uses ChatGPT or Alpaca for more complex decision-making. But these are used as chatbots. You need something like a game-level-to-text converter, and yes, the Google service can tell you something about the scenes but more in the way "There is a blocky depiction of an old temple." Still, the game is primarily played by the way-finding algorithm, and in my opinion, you would need something like Algo: "You see a cave, and there are three openings in the walls." ChatGPT: "Great, I decided to take the second one!" Algo runs to the specific opening.
My professor has spent a lot of time and brainpower to tell a car in GTA not to crash into a transporter, and suddenly, Lara can solve complex maps on the first run. No way! The bare minimum I am okay with is that Lara dies a lot and gets help for almost every part. Maybe ChatGPT makes some decision-making about the parameters. The gameplay still needs support from a player. I like the idea and take a lot of inspiration out of it. So go on, I have fun!

Cannot emphasize just how fascinating your concept and execution is... Sorry I didn't subscribe before! I hope you have the time, ability and desire to keep going. Every time I think about these videos you've done, even understanding the fact that the video itself is so far from real-time, improvements and expansion of abilities are only natural to come in the future, making for some truly compelling content. Not just in the gaming world but these AI concepts could also be applied in many other completely different areas tuan video games. Just mind-boggling.

I never imagined I would be seeing an AI trying to play Lara, this is really cool to watch. I played Tomb Raider back in 1996, when I was still a kid, and I've been a fan of the game ever since. Watching this is giving me nostalgic feelings, and at the same time a good laugh, as it is amazing how technology now allows people to use AI to play the game. Trully astonishing

It's rather interesting seeing AI Lara make a bunch of logical choices and making deductions. For example with the T-Rex battle once it got too close she tried to move away all the while shooting it, then realizing that might not be enough she takes out the shotgun. I think she is getting better at exploring since she needed fewer hints. This might be due to experience or not. However, she still has a tendency to outright ignore water. I am very interested to see how she reacts to later levels and possibly other Tomb games.

dude, I like those videos and I'm watching all of them, but for the love of god just be real and address our claims of you not being 100% transparent, the voice is clearly real, the lines might be real but I can't believe the gameplay is real, she even does things without a reason (which would be impossible for an AI) like dodging when there is no need to or walking in the wrong direction

This is amazing and so fun to watch. Would be awesome if you made a video with your commentary providing more insight on how it works in speciffic situations like at the end of first video. It's fascinating. Also, is it an uncut AI gameplay or was it edited? Did the AI figure out all the puzzles and navigation by itself or was there some manual input necessary to nudge it in the right direction? Also Lara's comments - they are all so on point and accurate, almost too human. I know AI can generate a lot of nonsense every once in a while so did you have to edit some of them out or reprompt a new comment in certain sitautions? How did you handle pacing? Lara almost never gets interrupted when something else happens while she talks and she always finds a perfect moment to start talking. Her movement is also very natural most of the time - I didn't notice any random actions like drawing and holstering weapons for no reason. Is it because AI learned how to play or did you have to manually program her not to do so?
This AI also has a very neat sense of direction - It explores everything like it's the first time it does it with looking around and getting lost for a moment - and yet she finds her way very quickly. Does it has some knowledge of the level layout from previous playthroughs or it this just AI that learned enough about the game that it can do a run like this blind?
How does the AI handles backtracking so well? It only went back to the gear puzzle after all gears have been found. Did it just assume there weren't any more or did it just run out of other places to explore?
How does the AI spots differences in environment? Does it make a screenshots every now and then and just compare them every time she revisits a place?

I've been working on something similar (not quite so intense, the algorithms would be in game) and my main question would be what are the graphical limitations of something like this?
Hard to envision what I want to create when I can't tell what the algorithmic memory draw would be like 🤔

With complexe textures or something too large to analyze google will be confuse and focus on the details of the picture, like a picture in the picture. Resulting to incorrect identification and weird comments, modern games also have more polygons so the only way to catch a texture would be scanning everything with different size, as human we can do it because we have an inner system of recognition based on memory and experience, something an AI can't get, but in the future if a robot can train using AI and mimic our behaviors it could learn, but for experience real stuffs you need real time, AI today are fast because they read everything available in their database, but to make them learn the feeling of cooking a cake it needs to make a real cake, and it takes time... So in my opinion any robot doing this would behave like child learning stuffs during many years and wouldn't be more skilled than us, natural brain is way more evolved than these AI, when we see the skills of a basic moskito that has a basic brain it's still way more efficiant than any robot that would do the same to survive. The same way the moskito can spot other moskitos to reproduce only with smell. Maybe a robot could copy its experience to another robot but if this robot isn't exactly the same it wan't work, while an human teaching something to another human is super effective because we adapt what we learn to our own body, because we feel our body and naturaly know our limits in space, if we play tennis we immediatly use the tool like it is our arm, this example is extremly hard for a robot today. We still beat them in most of the fields.

Back in '97 I started the series with TR2 on psx. Even though it was always clear how iconic the first part was, I never played it. Who would have thought I get to know the game in 2023 played by a smart configured AI ;-)
