I remember when Wren was a small youtuber, like i was really hoping for him to grow, and he did! I came back from a youtube ad and he's done A LOT through out those years that i haven't watched up. Nice job Wren!

Dragon Ball teaches real lessons too, like making a bad guy into a good guy (Vegeta) And also teaches about how you always need to protect your friends so actually, I think DBZ is actually better than that MLP crap.
First of all of this is in Mlp aswell and second of all DBZ isnt as good as other Animes*_*

Michael Iv Goku believed in Gohan's ability to go SSJ2 because of the time they put in training. Sometimes it's best not to step in when people need to do things themselves. Also, DBZ isn't as good as other animes, it's pretty old. BUT it inspired MANY of today's animes. I personally think Hunter x Hunter, SAO, and maybe Deadman Wonderland are better.

Michael Iv Well at the end of the battle, Goku actually did step in to give Gohan a boost of confidence to power his Kamehameha to the max and blow cell off the face of the Earth. He knew that that was the most important part of the battle. Also, if Goku really thought Gohan was too weak to find the power to beat Cell I guarantee you he wouldn't have dropped out and made Gohan fight Cell by himself.
This is just spot on, my good sir. I really, truly wish that there were at least 10 times more people out there with this open frame of mind than what there is now. I can only think of how much better place the world would be like if there were more people like you out there.

I always thought in some ways DBZ taught things. Like when Piccolo says that we need to be strong and that we can't give up because things aren't the way we want them to be. And that being headstrong and rushing in against problems is unwise and it's better to work together and solve it with your mind. But MLP does teach more lessons. But bottom line DBZ AND MLP are both awesome, funny, creative and memorable and I'm in both camps. I don't choose one or the other. They are both great. :D

I'd just like to throw in here, that the season 4 finale of MLP has a DBZ style fight.
I'm not even kidding, I was completely blown away. Stuff gets destroyed, and I mean like permanently too!
(Just google Triek and Twilight fight, and prepare to have every stereotype blown out of the water)

As a guy who watched both shows, I think we should all agree that the two shows have nothing in common, therefore they should not be compared with each other. However, I will say that the MLP Season 4 finale, "Twilight's Kingdom", did seem to have a DBZ like style. Check it out for yourself if you don't believe me.
the beam cannon is a concentrated beam specifically for piercing objects, it doesn't release its energy in an explosion, it retains it to piece objects

Many things like being able to connect with a specific character based on his or her actions, emotions, and personality. Learning important things that if you truly pay attention to you can change your life style and enjoy the little things in life! It has helped many people, including myself, go from being depressed and non-social to being happy everyday and being able to go forth and not be afraid to express yourself and having the courage to make new friends! Those are just a few things!
This is a great bit. My friends and I would make shitty ass short movies and it would have jokes like, "have fun getting home" in it
DBZ - If you need a quick action fix for your dull life that will only make it more dull.
MLP - A fix for your entire life that will resonate throughout every waking moment.

Actually, there is a male main character, (Spike) but that's besides the point. Anyway, when The Hub was first formed, they went to Lauren Faust and asked her to make a new MLP series and to make it family oriented, and that's what she did. She has even said herself that the show was originally meant for families, and that it still is.

So, one wonderful day, Goku is having a wonderful stroll on planet Namek, and Frieza shoots up from the grass. After several hours of wheezing and flexing muscles, the two go into combat. The battle lasts for several hours, and when Goku is pushed to his last resort, he begins to form a spirit bomb. After quite a while, he manages to blast Frieza with it, and the battle is over.
Then he realized that the spirit bomb took the souls of his friend and family, and everyone died. The end!
I'm in both camps,
but I'd choose MLP over DBZ when time is an issue. DBZ just takes so long for anything to happen (and that includes Super)

Sorry, I meant to say "lead male character". The closest it gets to a lead male character is Spike. Shining and Mac are not really leads, although they are more frequent appearances. There are other males, but their roles only get less prominent.
My point was that the show focuses on the main... 6? I believe 6, yes. It would change the show drastically to have made one of them a male character.

Yeah, on nicktoons. The uncut version shows Frieza's intestines, and you literally get to see Frieza with his face blown off. I guess watching Babadi getting his head ripped off with blood still pumping wasn't that gory either.

If the Dragon Balls and the Chaos Emeralds could perform a resurrection (even if the guy had died instead of just being split in half while somehow retaining all life functions), I see no reason why the Elements of Harmony couldn't as well. Especially since their power is based in the very essence of goodness. Even without them, I think a skilled unicorn could perform a spell to put that fellow back together. :P

Speaking as someone who has some pretty close brony friends, what I understand is that Lauren Faust (the director of MLP and Power Puff Girls) doesn't like making a show specifically targeted at girls. While that may be who it appeals to more, she wanted to make the show a "good" show. Not a girly show.
So there is merit to saying it was a family-friendly show rather than a little girl's show.
Also, it would not be keeping with the show's nature if she forced a male character into the story.
Depends which you're talking about actually, ponies, yes quite easily. However Discord might not be so easy, he bends reality. Even with mass amounts of power, it might be difficult to defeat an opponent that doesn't even abide by the laws of reality. And just so you know, I like both shows very much.
I'm with you, Who wants "or". Also i'm sure that combo is somewhere in the fanbass.
When I was younger I rushed home to watch DBZ but now I see how stupid it actually is. The basic pattern is: a strong guy shows up>gets almost beaten by the lesser guys (Krillin Kid Gohan)>he envolves or another stronger guy shows up>wait for Goku>Goku wins. Besids that a EP is 20% flashback, 20% introsong, 30% filler 10% content 10% preview 10% endcredits.
MLP has a rather quick intro no flashbacks no fillerscenes a lot of interllectual content and stuff to learn from. Ponies are more awsome.
