  • Very unoptimized run. I realize partway through that I need five research labs and not four, I got borderline bad challenge luck, I misunderstood the endangered species release achievement, I forgot to get rid of the dinosaur after getting the rampage achievement, and in retrospect I think the 20 endangered species achievement might actually be viable for the end of the run. Not to mention the myriad of accuracy issues and general sloppy route.
    I place foliage and rocks to up the Educational Habitats part of Zoo Fame. I believe higher star animals help fame as well.
    I get the 10 Supers achievement at the very start to give my Paleontologists more time to get the 1 Star fossils for a chance at the All 1 Star Fossils achievement.
    The weirdest optimization is the use of the Extinct Education Center, which has four achievements attached to it. By adding an abundance of Play Dig Pits, this achievement gains progress passively while you do everything else. Setting the zoo price to free leads to a lot of guests coming in using the dig pits accelerating the process. I think setting the prices to low also helps guest happiness but I'm not sure.

    Extinct Zoo Junior (S) is better I believe, more free area for buildings!

      I genuinely forgot there was another Junior Zoos! Taking a look at Extinct Zoo Junior S, imo it's a HARD maybe. It has some preplaced buildings, but only 10 enclosures which means I'd have to split enough of them for five more exhibits in order to get the Habitat achievement (and for more opportunities to place endangered species for the Endangered Species achievement - that's why in runs right now I'm adding Coastal for the otters.) Even abandoning Coastal, I don't know if there's enough space to split things up in a speedy enough way.
      Also a cursory look around makes me a little unsure about there being that much more dig pit placement opportunities on EZJS since the collision for the dig pit is atrocious and the paths are narrower with more pre-placed things that will get in guests' way. (Most notably I can't do the 6 dig pits at the zoo entrance because it's too narrow.)
      EZJS may have potential but CZJS just has so much going for it. Guests don't really need a ton of buildings to stay happy, and there are enough places to put the play dig pit that I usually get one of the achievements passively in a run.
      That all said I'm SUPER down to be proven wrong, I'd love to see more alternate routes for this run. I've been getting absolutely obliterated with challenge/quake luck recently but I'm crossing my fingers. Are you planning to come back to this category?
