Even if you do not or cannot volunteer, it is okay. Help yourself first. By helping yourself and keeping yourself out of trouble, you won't need the resources from the people and the Government, which can be redirected to help those who need it more. Not volunteering is not the wrong thing to do. As long as you manage your own life and family well and not create more problems that in itself is doing the society a big contribution already.

I find rather strange that when I sent out emails to these organisation showing the willingness to support them there has never been a reply.

Before u want ur people to volunteer and donate blood without getting paid, you ask the ministers, MPs and those who run this programs do all this.... without getting paid.
Then you'll understand why not many want to volunteer.
You suck your citizen by fines, bills, ERP and other things using the "legal" system.... and then we have to work to make sure we have enough for ourselves and our family to protect ourself from this "vacuum money" system.
And then you wonder why not enough volunteers are coming forward. Its because we dont have enough for ourself to go volunteering.

Taxing is a way for the country to get its revenue. You mentioned fines, bills, ERP. If you abide by the law, you won't get fine. You want a service, you must pay, if not how the workers providing the service get paid? How you get paid? I recon you drive, that's why you mentioned ERP. So rich can drive so i am not at all giving a care for the ERP you have to pay. Please don't volunteer. Help yourself first. By helping yourself and keeping yourself out of trouble, you won't need the resources from the people and the Government, which can be redirected to help those who need it more. Not volunteering is not the wrong thing to do. As long as you manage your own life and family well and not create more problems that in itself is a big contribution to the society already.
