Without Finn's wish for the actual timeline, Simon didn’t stop the bomb and it went off on someone else, (Or some animal based on Lich's horns) and leaving its alternating effects to evolve in Ooo for hundreds of years. So in short, Big Destiny didn’t exist all that time ago, so the Lich couldn’t have hosted in him.
