Kq was a label strictly for producers, they had some other solo artists like Babylon and Eden but had no idol group. They didn’t even have a idol program until Hongjoong joined. They brought him on to train him to be a producer and then changed it afterwards. He was by himself for 6 months learning how to produce before anyone else joined.
Well, yes and no. KQ had never created an idol group prior to ATEEZ, but they did manage an idol group. Block B sued their original company and moved to a new company--Seven Seasons which was created just for them. Later, the CEO created KQ and moved Seven Seasons under KQ, making Block B part of KQ as well. Block B's leader left KQ shortly after ATEEZ debuted, so KQ managed the solo activities of the remaining members throughout their military service until their contracts ended. Both Seven Seasons and Block B are still in the KQ opening sequence but are no longer on the KQ website likely because the remaining Block B members' contracts ended early this year. Hongjoong was a big fan of Block B's leader, Zico--that's why he wanted to be at KQ.
some updates/news : they won 4 times now on Immortal Songs, the only kpop group to have the most wins hongjoong has now a lee mujin service ep where he covered: billie jean, cupid, bouncy and starman seonghwa is now officially (?) part of the rapline yunho plays valorant and lol a lot. in valorant he said he reached radiant which is the highest rank u can get in valo. they all still live in a dorms but are now separated into 3 dorms to have each of the members their very rooms since in the past they used to live in 1 dorm, paired into 2's shares rooms.
