This game was brilliant. Both Storm and Roosters got some questionable calls but at the end of the day I'm just proud of our Roosters be able to get this far. Hoping for all the best for the Chooks next season. Good luck Melbourne next week against the Panthers.

The last minute try proves how incredibly important it is to coach for Scenarios! If my team is in front by one point in that situation my players would be coached to not “Compete” for the catch but “Spoil” and punch out the ball 🏈 or rush the catcher go for the player (without giving penalty try) as he lands. It was a greater try but would not be scored on my watch 😊

The refs just keep getting worse and worse. Still a great game to watch
Thier inconsistency is baffling.
At least it was evenhanded in its inconsistency… though the missed knock on was more costly than the chop around the melon of grant that went unpenalized.

@@ophie2865 pretty sure the knock on was way before the high shot... Different game if Klein had pulled up the knock on... Melbourne don't get that penalty, they therefore don't get that 2nd try and therefore momentum is changed and different game... 💯 tell you right now a penalty for a high shot at that point wouldn't have mattered the result either way as the roosters would have won... But luckily Ashley Klein was out there with the 18 on his jersey for melbourne tonight

Ashley Klein was the Storms best player tonight. Whatever they're paying him, they should double it.
How the referees didn't see that Knock on by Melbourne Storm, then 3 mins later they scored a try was the turning point in the game, it cost the Roosters a semi final.
Great game of Footy, I don't mind losing fair & square. The Storm weren't the better side, Roosters made so silly unforced errors & in the end Storm stole a win.

This was a great game, but what struck me were the number of seats available. I’m a broncos fan, but Carlton was my childhood team, so I switched over to that game at half time. There were 96000 people there. Why wasn’t the storm East’s game a sell out?
It didn't sell out BECAUSE it clashed with the AFL. There is supporter overlap, and Carlton fans have had a long time between drinks. This game should have been on Saturday night or Sunday afternoon instead.

@@daz_gibowski348 you beat me to it. AAMI has a capacity of 30 000. How many were there? 24000? As for supporter overlap.. Melbourne and Carlton aren’t the only two teams in Melbourne. Saints, the collywobbles, Richmond, Essendon, north Melbourne and hawthorn all had fans at loose ends… none them are storm supporters as well. With a game of such importance and so many empty seats, it’s a valid question to raise.
It's still a bigger crowd than GWS gets in Sydney.

Its getting to the point where making the Prelims this year isnt an accomplishment. Both these teams are pretty mediocre and far below the quality of the Broncos and Panthers
AFL football is still a much superior spectacle in every sense of the word.
