- Ever wonder how to avoid using the lockers at Universal, but still have a bag to hold all of your items in? One way to avoid using the lockers while at Universal is by using a fanny pack!
When going on rides at Universal, some rides require you to put your bags and belongings into a locker. The bag that is an exception to this rule is a fanny pack!

Rip Ride Rocket, Velocicoaster, and the Hulk are all exceptions to this. These rides require you to walk through metal detectors and do not allow you to bring anything on the ride! In this case, you will have to use the lockers!

can you even bring phones or wallets on these coasters?
@@grace-vl3qi no you have to put everything in it. Not your ticket though. And if your ticket is on your phone they give you a card to open the locker. They are free at some rides.
@@grace-vl3qi you can also keep a lanyard on if you are using a physical copy of your ticket

We've never used the lockers. Fannie packs are stupid and we all wear one to avoid the lockers. 🤣

My secret to avoiding the lockers is that I wear shorts with zippers on them. Not only do the zippers keep all of my valuables safely in my pants they are also in the front which makes it impossible for thieves to get at.
Love this and i totally agree! Having shorts or a jacket that has zipper pockets is perfect to store items and avoid lockers!!
This is how I did it during my last visit. For the entirety of hagrid’s my phone was secure!
I don’t know how true this is because I’m an Orlando native and I’ve seen people who tried to bring on fanny packs on multiple rides, not just Velocicoaster or Rip Ride Rock It and they tell you it needs to go in a locker. What rides are they ok with you bringing fanny packs on?
Hmm that’s interesting 🤔 I wonder if it depends on the team member? I have ridden on Gringotts, Forbidden Journey, and Hagrids with my Fanny pack! Well there are many ways, Strollers, Child Swap, ECV's, Take turns, buggy's Litteraly lockers.

Im supposed to be going to Universal in the summer and it’s my first time so I was wondering if I’d be able to carry my belongings in a small over the shoulder bag? I’m very protective of my belongings and I was wondering about smaller bags. I do own a fanny pack but I was wondering if another bags were an option?
Hello Todoroki! Im excited to hear you will be able to make a visit to Universal! Good question too. From what I have experienced and heard from Universal Team Members yes you can carry a small hipster or sling bag on the ride with you as well! I recommend still using a bag that is fanny pack sized but sits by your hips when wearing it. Does this make sense? Thank you for watching!

Fanny packs don’t hold enough stuff. Just buy a slim/small backpack and they fit in the small lockers just fine.
Yes good point I love slim backpacks too! My favorite is the North Face Field Bag!

Good question! How big is the camera bag? I would say if it is relatively flat and compact then yes but if it is big and bulky they may make you use a locker!

Question why would you avoid the lockers? I never went to universal and I’m going next month
We just went yesterday. The lockers can be a nightmare. It's really crowded in there and if someone is confused it will hold you up being able to get your items out of the locker once you're off the ride. We had this happen and the person behind me asked the person in front of me to get an employee because they were creating a huge line. The lockers are activated by finger print and you have to go to your section, use your finger print to get your items back out of the locker.

Good question! Unfortunately I think souvenir cups and buckets need to go in the locker no matter what 😢
Not 100% accurate. I do Ops. It must be a 3 prong clip fastener. It can not be a hook & loop, magnetic or a tuck lock (or anything other than 3 prongs). If I am expediating queue & you come by with a fanny pack, I'm gonna check. If it's not 3 prongs you are exiting. It's not worth me getting yelled at by my Lead b/c you won't use the FREE lockers!

In the past, I have personally asked team members about certain fanny packs/side bags if they were allowed to come with me on the rides. Is the 3 prong clip fastener a new rule? The bags I have brought in the past have been a hook & loop side bag and team members have allowed that on the ride? Thank you again!
