Love the way your stamps look!!!
Looks amazing beautiful xx 😊
1. Always use a textile medium. 2. Heat set the painted piece with your iron and an ironing cloth or piece of baking parchment paper. Place the parchment paper over and under your piece to protect your ironing board cover and your painted piece. 3. When in doubt, do a test sample. 4. There is a fabric called PFD (prepared for dying) that is ready to paint on then heat set. It's a little pricey per yard, but worth it. 5. If you use wax as a resist, how would you get it out of the cloth...and what would happen if you heat set it. 6. Tulip makes products especially to use on fabric. Hope this helps answer a few questions.
Fabulous! The pearls make it pop. Love those stamps.
I like it very much it's very pretty
Very.nice.idea.thank.you.share.us
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I've seen great things with Golden GAC 900 textile medium used instead of water to bind color to fabric.
Love it! I love the inktense products. I can't wait to try this. The pearl pen is lovely! I might try some little beads as well. I love your stamps!
Fabulous technique! Beautiful work. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing......
Hey thanks for the great video! I just started drawing & painting my own fabric squares for my own quilt since I haven't been able to find one I love, lol, so why not make my own right?! And I found these amazing Gel Roller pens for fabric that I've been using to draw my own designs on the fabric & they create such a beautiful crisp thin line that hasn't bled or smeared at all & looks just like what you got with your stamps & ink pad! So when your stamp missed just the small tip of the flower petal in the video, I thought HEY if you had one of these pens you could so easily just draw that part in yourself! So thought I'd share :) I got mine from Amazon & I love them! Unfortunately all I have so far is black that I've been able to get a few times now as an add on item for just a few bucks, I've also seen a blue & a red too but they've cost a lot more so far so I'm waiting. I keep praying they'll come out with a big set of colors, that'd be so awesome!
Beautiful!
Very pretty love your work. Will try to some your projects I am a beginner crafter.
Some other artists also use aloe vera gel (undiluted) instead of textile medium. It too is supposed to keep it from bleeding and help the ink soak down into the fabric. Haven't tried it yet myself. Thanks for your video.
Going to have to give that a try!!! :) Thank you!
Yes.. it works... and on a huge sheet of silk
I use liquid Spray Starch
I would highly advise using Golden fabric medium for the bleed issue.

Would LOVE to see more fabric painting with Inktense! Adore what you've done. What about printing out drawings on fabric then painting? Anyway....more of your artwork + any fabric Intense would be fabulous. ***smiles***
Hi! Thank you for this video! Can you use Inktense pencils on black canvas? Will the colors show up?
Can you use stamps on the intense water paints? If so where do you buy the stamps
hi karen elis, if you outline with a wax pencil before or after stitching, that would stop any bleeding, i think. jen UK
are these inkintensives more bright then other alternatives?
Thanks. I really liked this, and yes, I want to use it in my this technique in my art quilts! I think I could just make up the flowers then stitch and then paint them with Inktense Blocks! Could paint the background too, couldn’t you. Pleased to find your channel.
Hi, Karen, Glad to find your channel! Lovely work, too. Do you think you could color the white background with some other color to make the runoff be less noticeable?
Thankyou for the video! I'm going to have to buy the full 24 set of blocks, I've started off with the 12 set and absolutely adore them!! Love your cheerfulness :) I was just wondering whether you can use the inktense blocks to ink up the stamps? Or do you have to have a special ink pad?
+Sophie Moles Hi There! Thanks for watching and your comments! For this project I used Jet Black Archival Ink (great for stamping fabric) but you can use the inktense... colour the stamp and then spritz with water to activate. Your image won't be as crisp as in the video but it would be fun to play with!! :) Enjoy your Inktense blocks!!
Brush some textile medium over the unpainted surface and let it dry, then your paint won't bleed.
Do you not heat set it?
what kind of pencils please?
can fabrics be washed after drying? Do they need to be heat set? Love this video and can't wait to try it!
+Melissa Edwards they can.. I always heat set but I'm not sure if it's necessary. Candy's comment below -- they can be used with fabric medium too... safe for washing and won't bleed as she mentioned. I use this technique both ways now -- :) HAVE FUN
i did not know that it bled...and can i ink silk too? thank you
That is exactly my question too...
I am a Silk Painter ... I would think so...
but I want it to be still very silky too..
I have used Aloe Vera Gel so the ink doesn't spread
On a bigger project... I use liquid Spray Starch!!!
Try NO FLOW by Jacquard, it might help with doing art on Silk. There are other dye fixatives - check them on Dharma Trading Company.
If you use textile medium it will not bleed. =)
When in the steps would add the textile medium?
use textile medium instead of water... :)
OR.... Aloe Vera Gel
You can also use Spray Starch...
the archival ink is for fabrics then?
Not technically -- you'll see that some colours fade and change after washing BUT the black seems to retain it's properties. If you're not washing the material -- go ahead and stamp. If you are -- stick to the black :)
oops you meant ink intensive are not for fabrics?
Are the colors permanent
rukhmani Kumar yes
hmm but do you need to iron it? thanks
The Gel... can be Aloe Vera Gel
So purdy...
Try NO FLOW by Jacquard... for little bleed out - check out that product. I'm surprised you don't do more research before you even attempt a video.
B Juliana Leo wow
How rude! Your comment was negative. Maybe you should do some research on being a nicer person.
