Miraculous World: Paris, Tales of Shadybug and Claw Noir
Summary: While Marinette and Adrien deal with their new powers, Shadybug and Claw Noir, their evil versions, appear in Paris in search of the Butterfly Miraculous. Can Ladybug and Claw Noir make them use their powers for good?

Hot take but Hesperia/Reverse Gabriel was the best character in this special hands down.
It’s so refreshing to have an adult in this series not be stupid, inept or a jerk. He’s a good character but he’s also flawed and made mistakes which makes him so much more dimensional and interesting.
I hope he appears in more specials, he has so much more potential for interesting interactions with his own son and Chat Noir.
But yeah Hesperia slayed in this episode.

In all the other dubs, including the French dub which is the canonical dub he is called Hesperia. Also Betterfly is such a trash name I refuse to call him that. 😭

Claw Noir just TANKED a Cataclysm something that not even our Cat Noir could do or even Monarch, guy is really the real deal
I don’t think he really “tanked” it. You could see he felt pain after doing this, and the wound didn’t heal until Shadybug fixed everything. I think he took the same blow as Monarch in Destruction: A wound that would slowly spread over his entire body, and ultimately destroy him.
He just accepted this wound. There is a theory in psychology that if you want to do bad things, you tend to embrace pain and suffering on yourself. It’s easier to become the villain if you feel pain and agony. Most villains in TV and movies are driven by their tragic past and anger.
Also, he was already dying from the overuse of his miraculous, so he didn’t really care about a cataclysm wound which was probably just as fatal (If I have to go down, I may at least do it my way).
Cat Noir was also hit with a cataclysm when a villain stole his power in season 3.
It caused him some pain in the ribs,but left no permanent damage.

Ladybiquity (Ladybug kamikotized) had the same power as Ubiquity. She was able to manifest herself through all her counterparts in all the universes, being able to be everywhere at the same time. If you pay close attention, in Scarabella's universe, she is just Ubiquity, since the Ladybug Miraculous is with Scarabella. In the last universe that was showed, that was Lady Noire, so she was Ladybiquity but with the Cat Miraculous instead of the Ladybug one.

I'm glad this lived up to the hype. Shady and her constant weapons was fun and Claw with his puns and shenanigans was good. The emotional moments also were great. The other dimension where Scarabella and Kitty noire were just the heroes made me happy
Nah it is a dispoitmemt because making monarch the big bad is stupid it should have been a part of the people working for the Supreme who is the big bad and it should have had much more better build up for the Supreme to be the big bad of another episode !

Reverse Gabriel is the only reverse character with a different color palette. He also seems to be the only character with a completely opposite personality.
Felix in Representation said that Gabriel used to be good, Betterfly is probably how he would've been
I think the best bet on who The Supreme is, is Master Fu. Who used Gimmi to make himself the only one able to use the Supreme power of Gimmi. I also think the Guardians existed in the reverse world just like ours, cause the miraculous WERE created to help humanity. But Master Fu used Gimmi to "erase" the Guardians and make the world what it is now
I thought of the supreme as more of the people who were chasing master fu for the miracle box.
In season 3 , Backwarder, the people trying to take the miraculous were the “german holocaust soldiers”
Something along these lines probably ought to be what would make the most sense, but that line from Betterfly about Miraculous being kept out of the public eye and being given to eiltes to help maintain their power (and the supreme's power) over people makes me think that it'll probably be someone like Andre Bourgeois instead. Or maybe they'd make it be Audrey and they'd have her making it seem as if Andre is the Supreme so he can be her decoy.
Although with a guess like that I'd really have to wonder how / why Marinette was picked. Unless things went drastically different for that Marinette's family compared to the version of them that we know (and the common thread of Marinette being bullied by Chloe would suggest no difference), her family is NOT a member of the wealthy elite class that Betterfly would've been talking about there.
@@MuljoStpho Fair, though my interpretation of Marinette's family is that they're actually pretty wealthy, just not as influential as people like politicians and celebrities. They're known as the best bakers in Paris, and they've been shown to have connections with several famous people. There's also the factor of Marinette's classmates. Nearly everyone in their school has someone famous/wealthy in their family. So my interpretation is that Marinette is wealthy compared to your average person, but not compared to the ultra-wealthy.
I love hearing everyone's theories about the Supreme! This is incredibly fun. Andre being Audrey's decoy makes a lot of sense. I wouldn't be surprised if it's canon!
I thought the same, that it was Master Fu. It would make the most sense since the Supreme chose Shadybug and Claw Noir, just like Master Fu chose Ladybug and Cat Noir.
Also could the mysterious glowing person who was attacking Lila in the season 5 final be the Supreme? I think it is a real possibility.
Also my theories are that maby Marinette's dad died and that's why Sabine and her aren't like in this world, or the opposite and Sabine is dead. Or maby both of her parents are dead.
My theorie is that the Supreme saw both Adrian and Marinette doing some sort of cruel or violent act and that's why he chose them. Maby Marinette beat Chloe after she had enough of her bullying? Idk, it's fun to imagine theories.
It would be interesting if the Supreme was actually Sabine, seeing as Gabriel is now a drastically good person I don't see why Sabine couldn't be a drastically bad person.
The reason I think it could be Master Fu is because the symbol of the Supreme looks like a dark version of the symbol that was on his apprentice staff. Apart from that, everything in their parallel universe is because of their choices. Gabriel chose to move on as best he could while Adrien did not, Marinette did not make any friends or try to stand up for herself to Chloe. The boyfriend thing could be a possibility that she dated Kim or Luca and it did not end well. It could very well be that young Fu was chosen to be a guardian but he let his anger and rage take over. Instead of the sentimonster incident, he chose to make the wish due to his anger and sorrow of his suffering at being chosen as a guardian.
We NEED a BetterFly spinoff series! Like seriously! Complex characters with more to explore, a serious world with great opportunities for lore and storytelling, it’s literally AMAZING!!

They fr had to deal with risk, strike back, monarch with all the miraculous twice, their alternative selves, go and return from London 2 times and defeat a villain at the beginning of risk on the same day.
Actually, this is after Destruction, since Gabriel Babes' hand has just been cataclysmed. And yeah, timeline is kinda off with the special, with Adrienette technically getting together in S5E10/11 and Scarabella and Kitty Noir being there in those episodes as well

Loved this special, makes me even more hyped for Season 6. Also, it gives additonal context for why Marinette took such a risk turning off her powers when trying to convince Gabriel in the S5 finale; she did the exact same thing for Shadybug and it worked. Still naíve of her, but if it worked once and resulted in the best possible outcome, ofc she's gonna feel confident enough to try it again.
She was an idiot to think it would work. Marinette still is not being forgiven for that.
I was thinking the same thing. Also maybe she remembered how this other Gabriel changed for good and she just wanted to give that chance to him (even if he would never have deserved it)

Thomas has said that there's a possibility for us to explore the reverse universe and the return of the reverse characters. There won't be a spin-off since it is too expensive, but maybe we will see them return in later seasons (like how it happened with NY and Shangai) or in another special. There's a theory that says that the Supreme was the one appearing before Cerise at the end of season 5.

but there were also just enough stakes and content to make it feel okay seeing this after the Last Day.
It was satisfying to finally see the Butterfly Miraculous being used for its intended purpose.

If you notice at the end, in the Scarabella/Kitty Noire Timeline, Akumatized/Kimikotized? Marinette doesn’t have the Ladybug power. That’s because that’s not the main Marinette. It’s that universe’s Marinette. She doesn’t have the Ladybug power, since Alya has it. In the Mister Bug Timeline, Akumatized/Kimikotized Marinette has the Cat power. You can notice, she has features from her Lady Noire outfit. That’s because it’s that universe’s Marinette, who’s Lady Noire. Same thing goes for the anime and comic Timelines. Those are those universe’s Ladybug and Cat Noir.
Gabriel in the alternate universe was a treasure and an angel sent from Heaven.

I always thought that if the butterfly was used for good it would be useful as a support tool. Especially helpful when amplifying other miraculous powers. I also like that butterfly causes butterflies kamikos. In Japanese it means “little goddess.” The opposite of akuma which means “demon” or “evil spirit.” Betterfly most likely calls them that in memory of his wife.
i like the fact that shadybug and black claw are not trully evil but rather desperate to have a better life, it gives them more personalities than a classic bad for the sake of being bad

I feel the need to say this but the English dub omitted a line, when Shadybug detransforms in front of Adrien and he gets his flashback, he says to her "the baker girl?" and that's why she turns around and says "You now me?"
My theory is that The Supreme is Master Fu and his origin is the same but after using the Peacock miraculous to make feast, he begins to feel a large hunger for power instead of remorse for what he did and as a guardian and knowing that "too many miraculous at once could make you lose your mind" he would share that power for evil but still have control over everyone

I thought it was Fu for a long time but now i know the supreme is actually gimmi. Betterfly called the supreme «an evil being». Also, the reason Marinette couldnt make a wish is because gimmi dont wanna be summoned. It says «the supreme is reality». Gimmi is the kwami of reality.

The Guardians becoming the Supreme is definitely a good theory. Imagine if it was Master Fu, though. Single-handedly brought an end to the Guardians, had full access to the whole Miraculous set, probably allied with that world's Nazi equivalents to gain more power. He'd be absolutely terrifying as a villain

There is just so much to say about this special! First off, it was so much better than I thought it would be. It made me really nervous at first, with the cringe-worthy names of alternate universe Ladybug and Cat Noir, and with them staying in Paris, but it was amazing! I loved pretty much everything about this special.
I also liked that, however briefly, Adrien showed fear over his power. I know Hawk Moth is evil, but murder is wrong, especially for superheroes, and I felt like the show never truly covered the possible trauma Adrien should've gone through after cataclysming a person rather than an object. I still think there's more to be said about that, but with Hawk Moth's death in the show, I doubt they'll cover it again.
I also loved Adrien and Claw Noir's talk. Everything we knew about Adrien was more exposition from other characters. This was the first time we got to hear from Adrien himself how he handled his mother's death, and that he truly is well-adjusted enough to accept the tragedy.
Ultimately, it was amazing to truly see the differences in the characters. A lot of times, despite how important the multiverse is to franchises, they never do it justice. This really showed how important circumstances are. It's interesting that multiverse Gabriel could handle his wife's death better and become a hero while his son can't and becomes a villain. (I love that Alya is a superhero in every world, however)! And it's cute that Adrien is the one in love with Marinette in the other universe.
I wouldn't mind seeing more of these characters. Since this Gabriel is still alive, it might be fun to see a father-son Betterfly/Claw Noir reveal.
Final notes: I also was obsessed with the red streak in Marinette's hair. I think it looks even better with her new Ladybug-esque costume. And I'm a huge Adrienette fan, but I've always lowkey shipped Marinette and Alya!
The scene of Adrien and the Noir Claw is simply magnificent and touching. It was great to understand how Adrien had grown up and was able to build his own life without living in the past.❤🥹

One of the things I liked about this special is that it shows that Marinette and Ayla aren't best friends. They're sisters.

I forgot to say that the characters always talked about the Supreme but we never saw his silhouette or him hiding in the shadows, like Sherabah in the Aladdin remake. The producers really hate the '' Show don't tell! '' method or else they would use it in this special. The positive side is that it keep the character mysterious. I hope we'll learn more about the Supreme in season 6. If this villain is created then enver developped, that's dissapointing ☹
I loved Shadybug too! She was so interesting! And girl, when she threw a pair of high heels like a couple of ninja stars?! Holy woah! She's dope, I love her. And can't forget about Gabriel... I feel like that is his true self we saw. Thats who he really is underneath the pain and grief and greed. So It was awesome getting that. I do wish we had gotten this special earlier, as it fits in the timeline, but I guess it is rewarding to see BetterFly after Gabriel's sacrifice. To see that it wasn't just for his wife that he could be selfless, he was always capable of more.
Anyway, if this special is a preview on what the upcoming season is going to be like, I am so stoked for the next season!

My initial guess was the mage who originally created the Miraculous as seen in issue 2 of "Miraculous Adventures". But since according to the wiki "Miraculous Adventures" isn't canon, a member of what is the Order of the Guardians in the bad world (probably Su-Han or Master Fu) seems more likely.
I do think it's a singular guy though since Betterfly, Shady and Claw refer to the Supreme as "he" (singular and male).
Y'know... After this special, I'm starting to realize why Marc has been in the background so much, besides real life factors. Cause if bro was in the main supporting cast, it'd be joever

In our universe Marinete's Ubiquity was merged with Ladybug outfit with spots on it. I believe The Supreme is a single individual since Betterfly refers to The Supreme as "he". It think he is an evil version of Master Fu. My theory is that his unhappiness living at the Guardians' Temple, in the Shadybug universe, turned into anger and malice. He may have stolen the Miraculous and became the Supreme, single-handedly overthrowing them by combining their power.
Better Question Marinette should’ve asked is Why didn’t Master Fu tell me about Parallel Universes ? Because that’s something a Miraculous Guardian should know about.
This special instantly became my favorite! I always hoped that they would one day do a multiverse take on the Miraculous Ladybug series, I especially love that it's the classic trope of a universe where the good guys have evil alternate counterparts!
Maybe, as you say, The Supreme is the complete order of the guardians since in the intro we can see the Miraculous box from the reverse world with the symbol that Tikki and Plagg have over their mouths, which appears many times in the intro and the one that appears at Marinette's (reverse) feet when she summons Gimmi

Also, the reason Marinette couldnt make a wish is because gimmi dont wanna be summoned. It says «the supreme is reality». Gimmi is the kwami of reality.

I'll be honest... I would not be mad if we got a whole spin-off series with them. Especially since it could mean not only keeping Keith in the show, but a version of Gabriel and Adrien that actually have a good relationship.
I'm also 100% assuming that the Supreme has something to do with whatever that THING at the end of last season was with Lyla. I'm also assuming the Supreme is either their Lyla, or their Fu.
There is definitely a possibility of shadybug and clawnoir returning in the later seasons!
I always felt that Marrinette kept such a detailed diary because she is the guardian of the box. That way she has a way to remember who she is/was when she inevitably loses her memories when she chooses a new guardian

Weird thought: That mention of 8 billion parallel worlds kinda just gave a bunch of fanfic writers license to claim canon status on so many of the wild "what if" scenarios that they've explored. Some fanfics have twisted the lore in strange ways (or were ignorant of lore not yet revealed in the show when they wrote their fanfics) but if there's any arguable way, if there's any stretch of the imagination, to get there from some deviation in the timeline they'll latch onto it.

I thought this special was pretty amazing too!!! The transformations were absolutely beautiful, the fight scenes were great and seeing the emotional side to Shadybug and Claw Noir was so sad but it makes me happy that they decided to be good 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

By the way.. since Ladybug got akumatized into Ubiquity in the end (Lady Ubuquity bug). She was present in all universes, because that is what Ubiquity means.. to be omnipresent.. so she's just everywhere at once.. in the universe with Scarabella and Kitty Noire, she was there but without the Ladybug Miraculous, because she's not the holder of that miraculous in that universe, so she's just Ubiquity there.. and in the comic and PV version she's still Lady Ubiquity bug and in the last AU, it's Lady Noire, but as Ubiquity, so Lady Ubiquity Noire because no matter the universe... no matter what miraculous marinette has or not, she would always be Ubiquity and she would always be the one to stop Monarch, because that was the goal and she was present in every universe Monarch tried going into in that time.

Shadybug also said he would spare one of them so his goal may be to destroy everyone😳 Maby Fu turned to the dark side after killing everyone in the temple as a kid. Maby he didnt have a Marianne like How shadybug didnt have an Alya
Unless someone with super strength like Shadybug comes in or someone with a hammer or something, Marinette's diary is safely locked in her magic box, which as demonstrated in "Darkblade", clamps around the hand of anyone who tries to steal it.
My guess is, Master Fu is the Supreme..., it would make sense cause he might have a lot of knowledge about the miraculous...
I think the supreme is what might have been involved with our little deceiving azula olaf in the last part of the final day.
I have a theory that Marinette kept her diary and kept it for when she forgot everything after giving the miraculous box, probably Marinette will forget everything and by reading her diary she will remember about everything.
In case no one caught it, cat noir was scared to use the cataclysm bc this was the SAME night he had used it on his dad. Which is why he freaked out when claw noir forced it on himself.

Once Ladybug and Chat Noir saw that their version from that alternative dimension had their same civilian identity, couldn't they just ask Betterfly what is his identity as well?
I mean, considering he is literally from another universe, it wouldn't be a risk to expose his identity and, even if it wasn't 100% sure, would already give our heroes in our dimension a good hint on who most likely could be Monarch.

I think he was just too frustrated to notice that. For the entirety of season 5, we see how his fight with Ladybug drives him to madness (Exhibit 1: Evolution, Exhibit 2: Destruction, Exhibit 3: Intuition, and there are probably more).
There might be a more logical explanation like: he couldn’t reach the kamiko (akuma) since it’s in ladybug’s earring in our universe, and not in the alternate universes, or it’s in ladybug’s earring in all universes simultaneously, or some other weird crap.
I don’t know what’s breaking my head more: time travel or multiverse.

Interesting thing the wiki pointed out was that hesperias kamikos often make supporters instead of heavy hitters themselves. Probably because hesperia is always out fighting himself instead of hiding in a lair like monarch.
