i love the fact, that instead of buying new stuff you adapted the clothes you already had! i do that too and sometimes stuff turns out crap, but others are now my favorite pieces.
Try dip dying the ones you dont like with green and brown then ice dye it with black again. The result is cool

Might have to give that a shot! Dark browns and chocolate browns with cast iron blacks, along with dried plants and bones has been a mainstay in my aesthetic for a very long time, like 20 years. I've never been able to properly translate that into my wardrobe though, just my environment. Most of the brown clothes are so....boring.

This is giving me so many plans for spring when the weather gets warmer. I've been leaning more toward DIY dye projects with old clothes this year so now I have something new to try next year when the winter is over!
I love tie dyeing clothes (i've been having a brown phase lately too and actually use that same dye lol) but i've never tried bleaching, definitely have to give it a go though I love how these look 💚
im 100% going to bleach all my black clothes that i don't wear very much. ive also kinda gone from wearing all black to enjoying more natural/earthy tones

I am totally trying this out on some old things. Hopefully I can take some skirts and stuff from hippie goth to goblincore. I’ve always been hesitant to bleach clothes but some of your pieces turned out so lovely I have to try now.
I love seeing your style evolution 😍 If you check the tags for fabric content you'll be better able to predict how the bleach will react. Synthesis are generally a gamble but cotton and other natural fibers should give you pretty consistent results 😊

This is true. You can't bleach polyester, but cotton and linen bleach very well.

I have been having soooo much fun with bleach.. I plan on getting some dye as well so I can get the perfect grey/distressed look. I am a big fan of anything old looking or dark tye dyeing.

If you did your second round using a spray bottle, maybe you could concentrate the bleach in one area? Like dodge and burn in photography?
This video is getting older so I apologize if someone else already mentioned this. I recently learned that hot water neutralizes bleach, so you may get a more striking effect from cold water.
I tried this on cotton t-shirts and it didn't work for me. One didn't do anything atal the other stayed black with just a pale hint of tie dye. I find it works so much better if you just scrunch up the fabric whilst it's dry and pour neat bleach over it. I'm always up for trying new ways of doing things but I'll stick to my way inn the future.

Helloo, thank youuu! Some fabrics can't be dyed, but these fabrics usually don't react to bleach either. So if you've succesfully bleached a piece, it should also be able to be dyed afterwards! I've done this, as some clothing items turned too pink-ish or too bright orange, I dyed them with a cold brown textile dye and they all turned out great!! The prints are usually synthetic materials, that don't react to either bleach or dye!

I think what she did was scrunch them up a little bit, and let them soak in the bucket. The bleach has a more difficult time to properly soak in the layers and therefore make the bleach job uneven.
I think that might be all the magic that happened there.(sorry for my bad English)
@@marieskogsdotter1879 yeah it seems like that, looking at the vid. I know that similar patterns can be obtained by using rubber bands, but hers are cooler XD
using a deep more narrow bucket and scrunching the clothing on top of itself will get that effect.
If you're not happy with the clothing with a print on the front, why not just wear it inside out?
