      They are a serious seller in the core market. But they still have the reset button issue that is unnacceptable. They also need ot sever their ties with the chinese mass surveilance machine. The leaked datas in direction of China are a serious issue and could ban them from the market any day.

    Thanks for another good review. You are helping a lot of people making good decisions about what cams to buy. Some users like myself and brother put their cams under the soffit, under porch roof. As you know this style of cam does not help much when it's not getting much sun, solar panel with cord is the way to go when cams are more hidden from sun.

    I got into the ring ecosystem crappy resolution, but bloody hell it picks up every single motion, flawlessly thought I would try the Eufy camera system, and 4K was amazing. As I stated the ring, cameras, work flawlessly, and pick up motion instantaneously. All Wi-Fi devices in my home work flawlessly. It was only the Eufy cameras with delays and or not picking up motion. • @knightbeat
    @knightbeat Před 8 měsíci +2

    It's weird that they call it as S220 and S40 at the same time. The main issue I have with this camera is that its motion detection isn't that reliable. I clearly noticed that there were many missed events. Also, the motion detection doesn't work at the edges of the activity zones as expected. I am planning to return it as I already order the E330 set. Even though I have to deal with wires with that, I would like to have 24/7 recordings instead of only recording events when the motion sensor detects something (if it detects something).

    I’ve invested in cameras, doorbell and locks from Eufy. The software is buggy and terrible to say the least. Still have nightmares from “THE DOOR FAILED TO LOCK” when it tries to auto lock a door, which is already locked. I still have issues connecting to my solo cam for a year now, but eufy keeps sending me instructions to restart and move the cameras closer to my router. The ring and Arlo cameras in the exact same location operate without any issues, so why can’t the Eufy? Why would I need a camera close to my router?
    When cameras with solar panels run out of charge, they use the panel to recharge and reconnect after a couple of days. The eufy solocam just dies and needs to be brought down to recharge. I bet they haven’t fixed it with this version of the camera as well.

    Would like to see a long term (month+) review of this camera and performance. I was looking to upgrade from my 2C(1080) for my garage and this video made my decision but this camera aside from better pic quality has failed in motion capturing you can walk straight towards it and won't capture anything even in prefect lighting (90%), movement away or side to side from the camera it can capture motion. I'm not sure if I got a dud or what but after contacting Eufy and doing their fix recommendation still failed also put it up against a 2C Pro I bought to replace it with and the 2C Pro preforms perfectly and the s220 still fails.

    I think I have a defective unit, I've had it about a week and gets plenty off sunlight and set to solar yet I'm at 65%. Something is off as it'll show solar panel with the yellow sun symbol, sometimes the battery icon will blink charge and sometimes not. I was told by CS it should only show yellow next to solar that's how you know it's charging

    Since everyone already complains about Reolink’s 20-25 frames per second - I can’t imagine 15 frames per second being applauded going forward.
    Not working in sub-zero temperatures is also a huge issue for those of us in the northeast, where temps can plummet and stay below 0 for weeks at a time every winter.

    What is the range for connection? I have a Homebase 2 that I would like to connect to, but isn't necessary. I can also simply connect it to wifi, but again depends on range. Can you still connect to the camera from the Eufy app when connected directly to wifi?

    I have three of these cameras. They stopped working after a year, having many issues with the motion detection, delayed response etc. lacing security features which is their main job to do.
    After contacting Eufy, they refused to give support as 1 year has passed and tried to force me to buy a new one with a funny (%15) discount.
    Stay away from this brand as you will put the cameras into trash after some use.

    Solo cam S220 has many problemes:
    - worst ever wall mounting set, when you try to tighten the nut near the wall, the screw near the camera opens. Almost imposible for a single person to fix at in the desired angle. Not possile to fix it at 90 degrees from the wall, very important sometimes because you need sun exposure.
    - web portal acces (for laptop view) not working , at least in my country. I enabled acces from app, it generated a code, but I always got the wrong email or password message. I tried different browswes, not working
    - once you connect it to the network, it stays connected, even if you turn it off from app. A lot of internet traffic shown in my router from it. It is not possible to turn it off, it has not a physical button. Maybe the chinese guys can hear you if they want to. I have only chinese cams, but you can turn them off , by unplug them. This one has a battery for 1-2 months.
    Do not trust good reviews, explore another options.

      I have the S40 and also currently using the Eufy Cam 3 in my front garage area which is triggered multiple times a day and had no issues on charging…most if not all the time it is sitting 95-100 percent. Get the recommended sunlight requirement and you will be fine. Unless yours is placed in a high traffic area..then a wired camera would be a better setup.

    • @setarifsetari
      @setarifsetari Před rokem

      @@LifeHacksterWhen I had the Eufycam 3 installed in a high-traffic area and the camera received at least 3 hours of sunlight on its panel, the device would drain its battery in about two weeks. When I switched to the Eufycam 2 Pro with an additional panel, my battery charge level never fell below 98%.
      It's hard for me to believe what you're saying, or perhaps the conditions in which we use our devices are significantly different.
      The Eufycam 3 is set up in my driveway where there isn't much traffic, and it performs excellently there.

    Too bad they don't record in both places built in camera and the homebase. If someone breaks in and steals the homebase your recordings are gone could have been recovered from the cameras built in storage.
