    Necrotic Nick- Man, this has been a really divisive album. While I dig it I can also see why others don't. I really like this line up though and they've been insanely good with this line up live too.

    This new Deicide is a throwback - the ryhme-style lyrics over the screams…. I get its not groundbreaking, but i was pleasantly suprised! Solid album - really liked every track on my first listen!

    Deicide is Deicide and they keep making Deicide for the Deicide fans, which is fair to criticize they play it safe but have never really gone off track and changed too drastically like some other extreme metal albums

    I think it's awesome, and I had very low expectations. It's their best since Stench. I feel like a lot of people are shitting on it just because they hated the artwork. I'm not saying you're doing this but I've seen it a lot the past 2 days. Anyway, you have awesome taste in metal, so we can't agree on everything.

    • @raakareiska9804
      @raakareiska9804 Před měsícem

      Yes it is just cover art and I dont understand why Glenn gets all pissy and defensive if someone say its blurry and generic shit that AI always does? Because it is. He even tried to explains he did that cover as an act of defiance and piss people off or something stupid. At the time he had done that cover there was no real debate or opionion of AI art in metal. It pretty much started after their album and that case with Pestilence.
      He is just trying to act all cool and like this was made intentionally. What a dork he is for a grown up man

    Decent-cide. That's what I call them. This album, In the Minds of Evil, and Overtures of Blasphemy aren't as awe-inspiring as Legion---which they never topped and clearly never will. But solid listens and good solos. Personally, out of all of the last three In the Minds of Evil has the most punch, and that's probably why I hold that up as a good one in the post-Hoffman era. Do you remember Torment in Hell? That was very dry and practically boring. Deicide may make mistakes, but boring shouldn't be one of them. Pretty dull album. Rarely check that one out even though I've owned it for years.

    Well put, and this is exactly. EXACTLY! How I felt. The kicker to all of this besides the shit AI Album Cover, come to find out that they were about to perform a show with Christian Metal bands, in fact I thought it was a joke and called a Venue in Louisville, Ky. What’s the joke behind Deicide letting these Christian Death Metal bands open up for them. One was a Deathcore band that recorded on a Christian Death Metal Compilation Album. I have no idea what could be possibly worse that a Christian Deathcore band with Christian Deathcore karate children in the pit. I seriously thought it was a joke but nope, this was a thing an apparently this wasn’t the first night they played with the Christian Death Metal band. But since I called to find out the venue actually pulled the plug on the Christian’s because I said how odd it would be that one band will be singing “Invert the inverted Cross” & the next would say “severe the tongue of Christ” so the venue swapped out the Christian’s band with a Blck Metal band. But I guess that’s more of the venue or promoters wrong doing but still. It’s the final nail in the coffin on a spent band hitting the end of the road on a bad note.

PS: Talking about production I think the new (old) Pestilence album is even worse.

  • @METALALEX211

    Am sorry but saying that CC still puts out good albums? They all sound the same , the formula is stale and they play it safe . Old bands lost their edge in many cases CC,Deicide , IMMOLATION they play the same over and over I rather get deicide over CC any day.

    • @christopherrobin361
      @christopherrobin361 Před měsícem

      It isn't stale if they place power, passion, and energy into their efforts. Even CC live is still a nice treat, they're like a well-oiled machine. If anything I thought (still do) Butchered at Birth is a "samey" record. It's a staple, very gory, and important but repetitive and the songcraft isn't strong. And yes, Chris Barnes---even back then---wasn't that good of a vocalist. Give me Corpsegrinder era over that. But The Bleeding was their best with Barnes; songwriting was way better than Butchered, and so was Barnes' phrasing in vocals.
