    Another helpful and very clear presentation, Tim. Thank you.
    Those brackets really make the installation so much easier than you might expect, don't they. I've just added some DRLs to my GS' engine bars using the Hex ezCan but your project has got me thinking about a higher level installation.
    I enjoy your channel.
    Safe roads👍

      Hey Big Keith,
      I'm so glad you liked the video. I do like these brackets and lights. The Hex EZcan''s feature of turning off the light on the active turn signal really helps prevent the lights from "drowning out" the signal. A key point is to replace the OEM signal screws with 20mm long screws. They seem to hold much better.
      Thanks for the comment and for watching.

    Another nice video! Excited to see the light performance and beam distance. I know it's not too easy to show over video. The build quality seems really top notch, and the ability to repair/disassemble the lights seem like a real game changer. Ya gotta love the ezcan, absolute dead simple adding accessories. Should be time soon for a disco party with the flashing aux lights!

    In Europe, auxiliary lights, besides many restrictions, cannot be mounted higher than headlights. Nice brackets though...

      Hi Barkin, Thanks for the comment. Here in the US, the regulations vary by state. So if it is legal in your home state, other states will let you pass while traveling through. Although, in my experience most police do not enforce this strictly with motorcycles as long as you are not blinding oncoming traffic.
      Again, thanks for the comment and for watching.

    Great video showing the installation, just one question; any reason why you didn't use the Y-Connector provided to wire the lights together using only one input on the Ez-Can? I'm planning a similar setup and have a soundbomb horn - If I recall correctly the Ez-Can only has two high voltage outputs (the horn and lights would each require one). Should I be able to wire the lights together as one unit rather than L and R as you did? Thanks!

    • @Tim2Wheels
      @Tim2Wheels  Před 5 lety +2

      Hi Mike,
      You are correct, you can use the Y-connector to run both light to one hi-voltage line on the ezCAN. However, I wanted the ability to control each light independently. Primarlily for turning off the light on the side of the active turn signal. If you do not need that feature, you will get all other features wiring both lights to a single output on the ezCAN. In fact, this is a must if you want to install a high-voltage horn like the Sound Bomb. which will use the second high-voltage output.
      I love my ezCAN and these lights! Good luck with your project. Thanks for watching.

      @@Tim2Wheels Thanks for the response Tim and Merry Christmas! - What a bummer, I have forgot about that feature and could really use it. There's also an alert feature available to flash the lights with the horn button correct? It looks as if the EzCan accomplishes this by tapping into the factory horn wiring harness? I already have the horn installed with the wiring provided from TT - Direct to the battery with a relay and utilizing the factory harness for the switch. If I don't wire the horn into the EzCan, I should be able to use both features mentioned previously yes? One last question - are you satisfied with the lights using them for conspicuity in the daytime and are they bright/focused enough for night time highway/off road use? Thanks again!

    • @Tim2Wheels
      @Tim2Wheels  Před 5 lety +1

      @@LS1mike1997 Hi Mike, The lights will still flash with the horn (if the option is selected) even with both lights wired to one exCAN output. You get all functions except the individual shut off when signal is activated. The thing I like about the ezCAN is there is no "tapping" into factory wiring. It's all done cleanly via the CAN bus system. And does not void factory warranty.
      If your horn is wired direct to battery, then yes, you will still have both high-voltage outputs on the ezCAN available to use.
      The Baja Designs Squadron Pros have been great! They are increadibly bright. In fact, they were so bright, I have them turned down to only 10% brightness for daytime running. And that is still plenty bright to be seen. I have them set to 30% (I think) at night on low beam and 100% on High beam.
      Anything brighter is simply too bright for other traffic.

    Great video thanks for the different light mounting idea. I have a question for you, where did you find the brackets that mounted behind the turn signals? I called Baja designs and they can't tell me if they sell them or not? If they did sell them it would only be sold as a package, not separate. If you can help me out I would appreciate it.

    Hi Tim, thanks for your well thought out and explained videos. I am contemplating installing the same set up that you have for auxiliary lights on my GSA. Are you still happy with this setup? Also, i see you have the Baja Designs lights with two wires installation. Are they dimmable on the go with the Bmw wheel control? Thanks in advance!

    • @Tim2Wheels
      @Tim2Wheels  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes, I am very happy with this setup. These lights are super bright and are amazing when riding dark back roads at night. I have them set to only 10% when daytime as running lights.
      These are not dimmable using the wonder wheel, but the HEX ezcan can do several other functions.
      Thanks for the comment and for watching.

      Hi Boye,
      I got that bracket on Amazon. Here's a link amzn.to/2Wx8FMX
      They are also available on eBay.
      I works pretty well, I did get some "jello" effect on my old Hero 3, but newer GoPros seem to do better.

      first of all, a big thank you for your interest in my question, but I am very interested in your led installation for my GSA LC , which is why I asked you the question . I really want to find the same led light carriers as you.In France, I don’t find these LED light carriers and it would be really interesting to have the exact reference if you can find it. Thanks again from France where I live next to ST TROPEZ.I use a translator to write to you in the hope that everything I wanted to say is right. Thank you again.

      Hello Tim , I am in contact with Baja Designs , and after several emails , he has just confirmed to me that the light carriers that you have fixed on the 1200 GSA in your video are no longer manufactured , and are replaced by a new model , but I do not yet have pictures of the new model . Too bad because the ones you posed are really the ones I want to install on my 1200 GSA LC . I asked him if he didn’t have a pair left in a corner of his store. Hopefully! With respect to the new led light holder, I do not have a photo of the new supports mounted on a 2017 GSA LC OR 2018.Thank you again Tim , and I keep you updated . Good weekend to you . Philippe
