Why was he disrespected so much when he won everything + he is the best Spanish goalkeeper of all time?
- Casillas was very unlucky to have face Pep's Barca , where he suffer the 2-6 Bernabeu defeat and the 5-0 Camp Nou humiliation
- Florentino Perez never liked Casillas , always called him overrated , and kept trying to get rid of him but couldn't cuz fans loved him + captain
- He have a big clashed with Mourinho , in which Mourinho figure out Casillas was the one that told everything what happened inside the team to his wife Sara , and she would report it instantly.
- Arbeola injured him during a match , making Casillas decreased his level, and ever since Casillas never recovered his "EL SANTO" status
- During that time where he cameback from injury , all fans still want him to be the number one goalkeeper , but then they soon realize that Casillas was very out of shape , was giving so many free goals , and he looks very uncomfortable passing the ball to the defenders
- The 2013 confederation Cup we could see how unfit was Casillas , and the 3-0 against Brasil was only small shades what was about to come
- The 2014 World Cup , he gave a free goal , and in addition to that he couldn't make any key saves , and well Robben put him on the ground on the 5-1 game
- All the memes started on the season 2014/2015 , where Casillas was the regular player over Keylor Navas (who had an incredible World Cup and was Top 3 GK at that time with Neuer and Courtois), and on that season Casillas saving rates decreased so much that they meme him that Madrid was playing with 10 players instead of 11
- The moved to Porto was kind of a big blow for him since he thought he would retired at Real Madrid, and to make it worst is that he left the club after a trophyless season. Making things for him much harder to accept since he would have love to leave Madrid with at least one more silverware.
- Without Casillas, Spain would've never won 2010 World Cup. Jose Reina and Valdes were not consistent enough.
- Jose Mourinho always found faults around him but never within himself. He often looked for scapegoats whenever his one dimensional tactic failed to deliver result.
- Florentino Perez is a politician, not a football expert. I don't care who he calls overrated.

16 years ago was just a little kid, woke up in the middle of the night, familiy's tv was still on somehow (probably by my relative), saw magnificent save by iker , and since then i have a great appreciation for goalkeepers more than any position in the pitch

Perez and Mourinho hated Iker because his wife was a journalist and he would many times leak important information about the team to his wife, who would inform to the press (this was just a guesswork among Real Madrid players and coaching staff as he was the closest to press). Important info would get leaked before El Classico, at the time when Pep was at Barça and the rivalry between the two giants was at its peak. Perez wanted him out but he was a family favourite and a legend so he could not sell him
