I bought a Sovol SV06 - basicly a cheap version of the Prusa MK3. I did very few 3D printed mods, and swapped out the y axis motor for a bigger one. About $20 in upgrades. It just prints, day in, and day out, without any tinkering. Before that, I bought a Tevo/Homers Tarantula, E3D clone. The Tarantula always needed tuning and mods to keep it going, to the point where it is in parts, in a box, waiting for major upgrades.
I definitely heard a lot of good things about the SV06. I never had the chance to try it though. I dont use this machine right now because I have so many other printers, but this one really is a great machine all around. I loved it while I had it plugged in
How did you change the color on your solvol sv02?
Better than the Neptune 3 Pro?
That hot end looks pretty big and heavy which can lead to stringing I think ( I know heavy hotends do something bad but I can’t remember)
I won't say that doesn't happen, but I haven't experienced that before. A heavy hotend will increase ringing. Heavy hot end + fast print speeds will make super ugly prints, especially with resonance compensation 😂
I confirm, i have a little stringing but is very little, like you can count the strings with only one hand, probably o can get more stringing if i try to print faster with the X2
I have a X2 with a glass bed, the adhesion is very good....
And that's the problem, is very good haha
How does yours have glass?
@@ThePrintHouse - Initially those purchased from Amazon came with glass. Not sure if they still are.
I'm looking to get my first 3d Printer. I do not want to spend more than $300ish. I was considering an Ender 3 V3 KE, but this one looks good too. What would be you choice between this printer and the Ender?
KE has linear rails, and is running Klipper, for the price much better
Sovol SV06 hands down, better than both at about $210. If it gives you trouble, beef up the y axis stepper motor for about $10 bucks.
I think the one thing 3d printing companies need to understand is just make them silent I would pay extra just to have a silent machine it means those who have there printer in there bedroom can print at night making speed not a concern
Unfortunately it got cut from the video, but this machine is incredibly quiet. Standard fan speed printing was 43dB and max fan speed printing was around 51dB I believe.
That is a double edge sword. Silence comes from v-wheels, which generaly need maintenance, and are not as accurate. One way to upgrade v-wheels is to swap them for Polycarbonate wheels. That way wheels will not accumulate dust which causes artifacts on the prints.
That's all great, but I bought one has a problem the second day and contacted support, they talk a great game, but I never received any parts and you can't get them anywhere, the firmware was dated 2021 and you can't run any printer without updating it, that was the worst printer I've ever bought, the one print I printed was one that came with it, so I never got to test out the printer.
Interesting. Sorry you had a bad experience. I never updated to the latest firmware and haven't had issues. The firmware feels old but 9/10 printers I review and firmware that feels old. I at least appreciate the functional firmware, even though it feels old. Maybe you just dust it off and give it a try or get the x2. The x2 is brand new so maybe you'll have a different experience with it instead.
Hi dear friend, this is Tracy from Mingda after-sale support team, may I help you?
What is your favorite print that you ever made?
Ohhh I have made so many prints I dont think I have a favorite :// hahaah
