    Great video Robert! I have the older boss od-20, and I have to say the boss od-200 is a big improvement. Thank you.

    Robert, been following you for awhile. I was getting worried about you. Glad your back. You should watch other reviews of this pedal. I own it and that was how I unlocked the versatility of this pedal which is seemingly endless. I saw how to stack overdrives with different distortions to fully unlock its potential. You touched on it lightly at the end. Please consider this constructive criticism but I think if you had a few more weeks to play with it and fully unlock it your review would have been more informative. I know it was just a quick walk through but there is so much more to this pedal. I’m used to you being very very thorough. You should fully explore this pedal and do a part 2 or an addendum to this video. Nothing but love. I will always keep it positive! Glad your back.

    Great demo Robert, & great playing & sound, I personally like the fact that you can run it on batteries because some of the gigs we get down here in SWFL is outdoors with no power because of the area & the exclusiveness of the gig, thanks for sharing, you Rock brother!!! Rock On & God Bless!!!

    Dang! Welcome to today's edition of Robert's Groove Dungeon! I friggin' loved that, man! Turn it into a full song. I'd gladly throw some Sebastian Bach style vocals on that for you.

    Kick ass demo, Robert. I have a lot of pedals but I don't have any Boss dirt pedals. That one looks like a well made, versatile pedal.

    I really liked the groove of your demo. That pedal is sweet! Bottom line: does it replace anything on your pedal board? I think it would on mine.

    Pedal sounds great and your playing too Robert!!

    What a cool pedal. Seems like it would be overkill for just a rock or blues player in my opinion. But for metal, this would be perfect.
    I really enjoy your format Robert. Give us the data (or data), and then the sounds. No goofy stchick or skits. Keep up the great work sir!

    Thanks a lot for poking through this OD 200 unit. I've had my eye on it for a while, and since all I have is the H&K Grandmeister Deluxe 40, and no external effects or pedals, I was thinking this would be a good first move. Although I'd prefer to have 1 more gain stage in the amp, or perhaps i should think about upgrading the tubes, perhaps this multi OD would do the trick for me.

      I imagine there’s at least a few settings in there that you would find valuable to have. This pedal does just about everything that I can think of.

    great demo as always. nice versatility. I know you use a lot of pedals but what are your thoughts on floor processors like the rp 1000, helix, ect. ?

    • @RobertWJackson
      @RobertWJackson  Před 4 lety +2

      I don’t get along with processors, that’s why I never use them or demo them. Same with modeling amps. I always spend WAY too much time trying to get them to sound like I need them to, and by the time I’m done I’m so frustrated that I don’t want to play anymore. Then when I DO get them sounding right, I’ve found that it never translates into a full band setting and then I end up holding up other people because my gear doesn’t sound right. The other thing I don’t like about them is that if one switch or something goes out on them, you just lost your entire board, and in some cases your entire guitar rig. If my delay or my overdrive pedal goes out, I can live without one of them for a session if I need to.

    Two questions. First, do you use any cab IR's or is that straight pedal?? Second, what bass are you playing?? Love the fact you threw in some kyuss. Frickin awesome!!!

    • @RobertWJackson
      @RobertWJackson  Před 4 lety +1

      Nope, no IR’s, but I did use the built-in cab sim on the Laney IRT-Studio as it actually does the job quite well. Sometimes in my demos I do throw in a virtual IR from Wall Of Sound, but I didn’t add anything extra in this video. The bass is an ‘86 Charvel 3B.

      @@RobertWJackson right on!! Thanks for the response. As a geetar player for years I switched over to bass out of necessity. Still love to play guitar on my own time.

    Robert, can use the noise gate as a stand alone to gate other dirt pedals?
