    This is a GREAT LIST OF WHAT TO AVOID !! All VET RECOMMENDED MEANS IS THE VET WAS PAID BY THAT DOG FOOD COMPANY TO RECOMMEND THAT CRAPPY DOG FOOD.

      They’re paid right out of vet school to recommend certain brands that help pay for their schooling, usually science diet is what I hear them recommend.

      @@laurens.7564 with degrees in nutrition, animal sciences and biology I assure you I can tell the differences among marketing ploys, poor cheap fillers and real nutrition. The brands listed in this article are definitely NOT something I would feed my dog.

    The first two use some of the lowest amounts of meats and animal proteins, and they use a lot of fillers and corn. Most of these brands use more filler and then just charge more. This was disappointing

    isn't the top 3 like, the same as big pharma where they give those vet places free dog food so they will promote their products as "best"
    so those companies just paid their way into vet recommendations.

    there are only a couple that i would feed my dog, several have had lots of recalls, especially science diet.

      Not to mention almost all of Science Diet foods (and a lot of the foods listed here) contain corn and wheat. Corn and corn meal turns straight into sugar. Even humans don't get much nutritional value out of corn, and our fur babies are no different.

      @@josieshepherd2483 I currently feed my girls Taste of the Wild Ancient Prairie w/Ancient Grains.
      Ingredients: water buffalo, pork, chicken meal, grain sorghum, millet, chicken fat, pearled barley, roasted bison, roasted venison, and more goodies for my girls.
      I'd also suggest Honest Kitchen if you can afford it. I used to feed my girls Honest Kitchen but going through 3 $90 bags a month got to be too expensive for me. I fed them the Whole Grain Beef & Oat Recipe which has less than 15 ingredients (not including vitamins and minerals) and all of them are proteins, veggies, fruits, whole grains and healthy fats.

      Blessings and hello, i feed my dogo Hill's science diet for sensitive stomach and skin chicken and barley for a while and seems to be good. There's a recall on it. Let me know more info please. God Bless

    lamb,chicken medium rare steaks , sweet potoes,oats .,brown rice, brocali,carrots spinish ,egg yolks. and my pugs enjoy it.

    When our Dog was a puppy the breeder said to feed her Eukanuba I was shocked to see it was made by Iams. I want to try a different one but everyone has a different idea, Now I'm not sure. I mean, this video is one person's idea. Guess I will go read the bags. I am looking for high protein not cooked out!

    i have a pug that is 9 years old and with no issue till a year later i started to give him those dentalsticks treats, now its been having seizers due to toxins in some dog food that these companies sell. i started to change dog food .hoping to find a more safer product.

    Could someone give me recommendation ? Mine is shihtzu 10month old 🙏🏼 I've been giving her royal cannin mini indoor and lately change it to royal canin mini mother starter. And for me, RC is expensive 😵‍💫

      I cook a pkg of fresh chicken Tenders everyday at 7.00 per day and kibble for vitamins and some fresh veg every few days … that is WAY more than Origen. My son uses Origen can and kibble and his dog likes it ( after trying more than we want to discuss ) and we are both right. Do as you can for your family. My pets always exceed their mortality averages and that is PRICELESS. Just do what you feel is right, because most dogs adapt.

      guys please help me understand why you say so? I'm thinking of switching from Orijen to a different brand as it's heavy on the pocket $$$ but people have been telling me to go with Hills. My pitbull is 2 years old, sensitive tummy and skin and have only known Orijen and Acana since he was a few months old when he got him. help me find something easier on the budget but with the best ingredients for him please

      @@thomasmapolie4760 Taste of the Wild is the best for budged friendly. But I’m not Vet, just a pet mommy that reads a lot about food. Watch videos about the ingridients of dogs and whats best for pitbulls. All breeds have dif requiriments. Hope this helps.

      @@thomasmapolie4760 If you don't find it it's okay, just look for the ingredients: nothing that says "product by meal", also look for recommendations with ingredients that pitbulls need. Also remember when you change the food doing the process to mix the old food with the new one to prevent diarrhea.

      It's also been linked to fatal heart condition, dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). It's one of 16 brands linked to this heart disease, many of them being the high dollar brands.

    Two of the vets I have gone to have recommended Purina Pro Plan. It’s not cheap…$20 a small bag.

    From the video I can cannot tell if these are wet or dry dog foods Can you mention this or show what the dogs are eating so viewers can see if the food you’re talking about is dry or wet? It’s briefly mentioned however I have. I idea. Dry dog food is garbage. Wet is the way to go. So which is it? Thank you

      My problem with Taste of The Wild is all the synthetic vitamins and minerals in the food. All those synthetics are sourced from China and you're hoping no one made a mistake with the measurements. I strongly believe that the vitamins and minerals should come from the food and not from add-ons

      @@tomd4260 The vast majority of vitamins and minerals are outsourced. China has cornered the market on producing vitamins, supplements, etc... If your bag of dog food has all the vitamins and minerals listed after salt, the there is a very good chance the dog food manuifacture outsourced those supplements from China.

      @@tomd4260 That's a true statement, but food doesn't need the added supplements if it has the right ingredients and is not overly cooked. Most dog food manufacturer fast cook their kibble in high heat that eliminates all the nutritional value out of the ingredients and they need to supplement. Unforuntitly, Taste of the Wild, made by Diamond Pet Foods is one of those manufacturers with a history of recalls.

      @vaughn257 I've narrowed it down to Nom Nom and The Farmer's Dog. I am also considering Badland Ranch. I'm researching it this weekend. I started researching dog food months ago, and I'm running out of time. I get the pup in 2 weeks. 😱

    If a vet recommended i don’t go for it if they trynna talk Purina n hills science nah u ain’t gonna keep having my dogs in ur vet cause u want to knowingly recommend trash food. I’ve had convo with vets not even know what I feed or ask but recommend it lol 😂 I wouldn’t pay attention to this video ither smh u giving people the same trash list they will give shame shame shame y not recommend fresh food instead of trash. That will probably take them out of buisness

      @@reynaldomeade9990 You always want to look at the ingredient panel on the back. The ingredients are listed from most to least and the rule is that after salt those ingredients only make up 2% of the food. You also want to look at how much synthetic minerals and vitamins are put into the food.

    Science diet, Royal Canine, Iams, Eukanuba Purina, are completely garbage and very expensive. A breeder told me those companies pay vetanarians to say those foods are the best, but they have some ingredients that are junk.
