The side kicks complained about each should sing a part and so they separated and after becoming mature enough they wanted a reunion except for miss "where is Wendy now", which didn't really take off just like nicole and Wendy's solo albums, but atheist nicole is a very independent judge and is now a part of Annie play
You can definitely compare the girl group before and now.
Before only led vocal can sing mostly entire song but now each one of them are given lines so the other doesn’t look like back up singers.

And yes Nicole is always the lead, however the girls knew this from the beginning, when they were signed up by Interscope (Thanks in part to Gwen Stefani) and started back in '02-'03 with Carmit Bachar (Red head with the shorter hair) being the eldest and first girl signed into the group previously while it was a burlesque dance group, Carmit the most experienced dancer of the dance troop having appeared and danced in music videos for Michael Jackson, Beyonce, J Lo, Aaliyah, Ricky Martin and more, Carmit is also an incredible singer and has featured vocals on a few of the groups songs. Nicole was brought in a little time after this alongside Kaya Jones (who left the group before they became the Pussycat Dolls we know today) and Melody Thornton, with all four girls becoming lead vocalists. Jessica Sutter, Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Roberts were signed on as dancers but also as background ad lib singers, though Jessica herself is also an amazing vocalist.

No it's not like they were mad Nicole is the lead singer. They were mad because she was the only singer and after a while she even began to pretend she was the whole group. She later apologized. Now she is still the lead singer, but with voices of the others. Also the others will sing more in the future, but Nicole will stay the lead singer.

There were only like 2 actual dancers in the group out of 6 & besides nicole the rest barely saw any money. Ik Melody was/is a really great singer & she hardly ever got any attention in the group & was treated as a backup vocalist & dancer when she didnt even know how to dance.

Stop comparing them to Maroon 5...that group is different because they had instrumentalist. The other girls clearly want to sing hence they all have solo projects also when talking about the reunion Carmit and Jessica said the plan was for Nicole to stay lead but they all were supposed to sing..... NO OTHER GIRL GROUP IS MADE OF ONE SINGER THIS IS WHY MELODY DIDNT RETURN!!! This isn’t a cute formula especially when you have other talented singers in the group
