  • Hello everyone!
    Ever wanted to know the difference between waterslide paper and printable vinyl?
    In this video I show you the outcome of using both on a Starbucks reusable cup with the epoxy method.
    Waterslide paper is a fun new way of adding pictures to your projects! Although it may look challenging at first I love the final look of pictures on it.

    Just learning this to replace letters on a machine. I wanted to make sure I understand correctly. To get the name with the Teckwrap, you need a cricut machine to make the text cut? I'm going to be using it for very small text.

    You should do a behind the scenes video of what cricut machine you have and what tools and accessories for it you use. Maybe even include your lighting and camera set up.

    Will printable vinyl work under crystalac? Do I need to seal the printable vinyl prior to crystalac? I haven’t tried epoxy but have crystalac.

    Why can’t you print the water slide paper and use the Cricut to cut out the flowers. Honest question, with genuine curiosity. Looking for some education thank you :)

      Hi!! To be honest, I just never tried it but I did learn that when I cut too close (with scissors) to the ink it’s a little harder to slide it off. I do plan on doing an updated waterslide video soon!! I’ve learned so much about it the more I use it ❤️

    • @craftingwithsoul8624
      @craftingwithsoul8624  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes!! I always try to print it from a reg word doc to avoid the black box that cricut prints (since I cut it by hand anyway) so I cut only what I will be using before spraying it. Then when I reuse I tape it to a reg piece of paper so it doesn’t jam 😊

      I don’t think there’s necessarily a “wrong way” to do it. When I looked at the instructions it looked like the image was flipped (like I did) but I do it both ways! I’ll do an updated one soon 😊

  • @sherosebeautifully
    @sherosebeautifully Před 3 lety +1

    Hi is there any reason why you flipped the water slide? The water slide paper I have doesn't mention flipping the decal.

    • @craftingwithsoul8624
      @craftingwithsoul8624  Před 3 lety +3

      Hi! On the instructions of the Hayes paper I used the image was flipped after applied so that’s what I did too lol. It does make it a little easier to apply your image in my opinion but I think it’s more of what you prefer. Lately I’ve been sliding the image onto the cup instead of flipping and since I seal mine with epoxy I don’t have any issues doing either method.

    • @craftingwithsoul8624
      @craftingwithsoul8624  Před 3 lety

      Hi! Yes it is the Starbucks reusable cup. The epoxy can crack if you squeeze or drop the cup, adding paint as a base layer helps the epoxy adhere better. I always include care instructions with all the cups I make and even have some myself that have been just fine 😊

      No worries 😊 I usually cut out a circle with vinyl to cover the sb logo and tape the rim so you don’t get any paint inside. Then just turn upside down & spray paint!

    I’m no expert but I’m sure you’re putting the water slide decals the wrong way round: the decal slides off the backing paper onto the object. You’re losing all the image resolution. If the decal had words in it, you’d see it was right reading on the backing paper.
