My dad used to sing this song--always made me cry. He is home now. My mom, too. So thankful they lived long lives serving the Lord. I miss them terribly! I am thankful to know I will see them again one day! I also am thankful they are not here to see the way the world is today! God is still in control!!! Please don't carry on arguments in the replies---I write what I do for God's glory. There will be no bickering in Heaven --why don't we start here on earth? I love all people in the name of Christ. Yes, Jesus paid it all---how absolutely wonderful!!!!

The Bible says Jesus was beaten until he was unrecognizable as a human. I can't imagine what He suffered for us. Listening to this song while thinking about that verse in the Bible, my heart is touched in a really profound way. I can't wait to thank Him in person.

While listening to these beautifully sung songs, I suddenly realize that the moment God allowed Mary to conceive of Himself, he had thus mixed himself with man. The moment Jesus prayed in Gethsemane to let the cup pass from Him, and fortunately He immediately indicated that it was only His Father's will that He would do, God could not turn it around anymore. His Son was also human. He could not save His Son and leave the rest of humanity to its fate..... since His Son was just as much human.....
Jesus could have called ten thousand angels to deliver Him and destroy everything and everyone who contributed to His humiliation, the slaughter, and everything else that came with it. If He would have done that, they would have come.... Everything was subject to Him. But that was not exactly what God intended. Even those who actively and deliberately contributed to the diabolical plan to get Him out, He still wanted to save them.

And there is more. From Col. 1:17 and Heb. 1:3, the divine being of Jesus continuously wills the universe into continued existence, its components otherwise de-cohering.
Therefore, to stop his suffering on the cross, he didn't need 10,000 angels. He didn't need to initiate the destruction of the world. All he had to do was to stop willing into existence his tormentors. But, instead, he died for you and me.
