Just the Airbus A318, the 737-600 is not the most popular 737NG variant right now. In fact, at least 19 -600 are still in service with only 5 airlines as of now. Also, this is the second shortest 737 ever because the shortest 737 ever existed is the -500, the true baby Boeing.

Love these shorter versions because they're the most true to what a 737 was originally supposed to be. The 737 was never meant to be stretched to the length of a 707 or 757, and a 737-900 will never be as cool as a 707 or 757. I like the 737-800 though as I've been in them the most times in real life, so that is the PMDG one I will get, and I'll save the shorter one for when Milviz releases its 737-200.

I'm pretty much suprise by PMDG. Usually PMDG addon are expensive. But this addon is much cheaper than other addon
They know the 600 is going to be the least popular 737 they make, so they priced it accordingly. They also know the 800 will be the most popular, so it will be priced closer to the 700 if not even higher.
But actually its 50% more expensive than the previous versions for older sims.
I think it’s also an experiment in ‘can we make more money by charging less by attracting many more customers?’ I hope it worked for them
