Hiya I've just got one of these radios and there was no instructions with it and I have never had anything like it in my life its grate you telling us a bit about the radio is there any frequencys I should look for on the ham bands what antenna would work best as I've not received anything on the little antenna provided please help as I havent a clue realy thanks Ian
Try a long length of wire about 66ft for Ham Bands

Touch the 'HAM' selection on the Main Screen (when the rear switch is Not on the FM side) and you'll see all the Ham Bands displayed there. Example 40m is 7.0 to 7.3, 80m is 3.5 to 4.0 etc.

Small question I am looking at this to.listen to sideband cb and do amateur radio rather than buying an mvt7100 or similar will.this do.the job.
It's a low price receiver yes it works lots videos but it's not as good as a scanner .
Does this model require upgrading? I went to buy the ATS-25x2 and was informed that you had to PAY for the upgrade before the radio would work.

I was searching through the Ham band last night when I picked up an operator who quickly faded into non existence after saying he was in Porto Rico-is this possible?Or is someone taking the micky?
I've got it connected to the clip on aerial that came with the xhdata 808.
I'm in Liverpool.

Hello I have just bought my ats25x1 and found it to be rubbish I can pick up commercial radio but on the ham bands for what I bought this for is nothing on all bands I can not pick up any station at all, I have tried this against a SDR on the web and my 897 and is not aligned to that signal, I complained to seller and my money was immediately refunded which makes it suspicious as I wondered if this was a factory reject, and I was to keep the radio. Now stuck with a new door stop.
They are ok not great but about right for the price.
Mine worked for one charge. It lasted a very long time. Then when it died it would not charge. Has anyone got any advice or secrets about charging?
You would need to check the battery condition then the hardware that charges the battery .
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones thank you. I tried a few different chargers last night from a drawer and a older cell phone charger worked. The new one did not. Same type of plug.

Yes if you use HF Maring but not VHF.
