I think Ren wants to start a movement where we all support each other. Nobody needs more wealth than they’ll ever need. We are taught to go to school, get good grades, get a good job, buy a nice house, have our kids and let the cycle repeat. We need to live symbiotically, supporting each other, supporting the planet that sustains us, and the only time we should be looking down on someone is to help them up. Bring on the renvolution.

I think getting a piece of the pie is one thing, and we all want security. The problem is all of those who take so, so much more than they need, never give back and will step on anyone to get it.
I think the imagery of everyone with those bags over their heads and ropes around their necks is representation of how all of us are prisoners to the money game, we're all part of it, most of us unwillingly and even unknowningly. Blind and bound.
Prisoner for sure - but I think Ren gave us the explicit imagery in MG1 that the figure of the person with a bag over their head & noose around their neck, is a *hostage* in the context of his money game conversation. The money game makes prisoners of us, but even more than that, holds us hostage. (agreed that a hostage is still a type of prisoner of course, but "hostage" confers extra details in terms of a threat of explicit physical violence, if the conditions of an ultimatum are not met)
I also think the bags over the heads, and the switching of the pianists, (while also practical for the performance of the video) implies we are all replaceable in the money game.
Aside from pointing out the problems of society, I see Ren trying to promote a sense of empowerment, pushing the idea that we can cooperate and find solutions together that we can't find individually. Good to see you engaging with Ren again!
I've missed seeing you react to Ren - it was good to see you again! I think Sam and Ren said there was one cut when they go around the wheelchair right before the string section. They only had one chance to shoot the rain scene and didn't want to lose everything before that if it went wrong. At least that is what I recall from the interviews I've seen.
First of all dude, that Bill & Ted quote got me right in the feels! In the spirit of the RENegade community, is everybody doing ok? Answer only if you want to, sometimes it's just nice to have an impartial ear! If your not ok, and don't answer, I hope you start feeling better soon! Remember there are people who care. Ren did something even more genius the week before this release based around the 7 deadly sins each day he made riddles (damn hard ones) that if you solved it you could win 1000 pound... what it did was bring EVERYONE together to work out different parts of the riddles. he did this to prove that together we can come up with solutions to this money game to make things fairer for all!

Great reaction! For me this was a bit like Jenny & Screech, brilliant work but an uncomfortable watch because of the story. I wasn't expecting 'classical' music but it is growing on me and fits really well. You summed up nicely how we're all caught up in the money game because of the society we happened to be born into. I do believe that most people are decent and want a fair and caring world but at the same time feel trapped and powerless to make a real change. At least Ren is trying to open up minds to different possibilities and more power to him for that. Party on excellent dude!
I think it's about love. Love is what we need and our focus should be how to give and receive as much love as possible. Money should never be an objective nor be admired beyond what we need to survive. 💕. All he wanted was his father's love and he didn't even know it. He gave up everything for material wealth and then had no clue why he was miserable, which is unbearable 😢
I think capitalism is fine as long as its not abused and sadly these days the gap between the extreme wealth and the extreme poor is vast. And the middle don't even have that much. You should definitely strive to grow your business as long as you don't have to lie, cheat and step on people to do it. It's all about balance imo. Great reaction.❤
As I said above....Ren is basically against crony capitalism. I know he says anti capitalism but he hates corporate greed. Crony capitalism is business/corporate leaders in close relationships with government officials and use that 100% to their advantage in both directions. Lobbyist are usually the go-between person for government officials and the corporations CEO's and CFO's. Most lobbyist are ex politicians.
Get what you can but maybe tread softly and respect the resources available, and be aware of what others are going through and when possible help. Ren is the first to admit he's part of the system too. He talked about having to crowdfund to get money to come to Canada - having to ask for help just to get medical treatment. With his latest success he finds comforted knowing he won't have to do that again. I find it interesting that at the end.. the gun didn't fire. .It's the ultimate symbol of a money game (arms) and it failed. (my interpretation). I'd love to know if anyone heard different from Ren - I think he's playing chess and I'm playing checkers most of the time).
Unfortunately, the game has been around for a long time... and will last for eons to come. Fortunately, there are those who put their finger on the wound. I ended up feeling very disappointed. The ending was just the same as Money Game 1. There were(and I'm going to be anal here) multiple grammatical errors which if corrected, would have made the flow much more natural. Near the end he used the word invention three times and the "did I mention" line was just so obviously put in to rhyme and served no useful purpose. Parts of the story felt rushed and not really well thought out, which surprised me as normally Ren's lyrics are super clean and clear. I'm still a huge Ren fan but this piece didn't excite and amaze me as most of his previous work has done. Not his best work by any stretch of the imagination.

I ended up feeling very disappointed. The ending was just the same as Money Game 1. There were(and I'm going to be anal here) multiple grammatical errors which if corrected, would have made the flow much more natural. Near the end he used the word invention three times and the "did I mention" line was just so obviously put in to rhyme and served no useful purpose. Parts of the story felt rushed and not really well thought out, which surprised me as normally Ren's lyrics are super clean and clear. I'm still a huge Ren fan but this piece didn't excite and amaze me as most of his previous work has done. Not his best work by any stretch of the imagination.
