Slight downside: Even at minimum gain setting it's still pretty overdriven. You're not going to get any actual clean boost …. but you wouldn't really expect that on this type of pedal anyway.

The yellow one is fuzz, the red one is distortion and the blue one is possibly overdrive. If you like the yellow one then I'd recommend saving your pennies for a little while and shelling out $99 USD on a JHS 3 Series fuzz unit. It has a bias knob on it that can control and improve that sputtery break-up sound you hear on the Azor.

Ryan, I had that same Azor fuzz and thought exactly the same thing - cool sound but wimpy output. But Azor used to make a different fuzz. It was silver with 3 knobs. It was a Big Muff clone with a much higher output. I kept that one and still use it often. Sadly, it looks like it's not available on Amazon anymore. But if you can find one, check it out. I also have an Azor analog delay that's pretty cool for a $20 pedal.

So here is a question: if I am looking for a fuzz to put after my “always on” overdrive, and I got the azor, would I still have noise level issue? I’m mainly looking for something to muddy up my tone for certain sections. I’m running a precision drive pedal from Horizon Devices through an orange tiny terror, if that helps...?

The "Purely Fuzz" is running a Rat Style Tone control on an Overdrive/Distortion. There's just not enough of the higher harmonics to push through the filter, which probably doesn't have a limiter resistor following it. If this was something with a lot more push to it (Purely Transistor distortion instead of clipping for example) It might be okay? I know There's fuzzes that use that style of tone control that have been used for Tracks like Time Is Running Out - Muse and Right Where It Belongs - NIN and they have a ridiculous amount of signal in the highs for the tone control to work.

I have a bunch of twinote pedals, and I fuckin' LOVE them all. They stay at the practice space.

could you make a vid with the twinote at the end of the chain? i wanna see how crazy the low gain settings are when boosted as fuck!

I like the fuzz of the Azor best. Is it faulty - being so quiet. Would like to hear another unit. The p-pie sounded heavy, but not particularly fuzz.

It's funny because now I wanna buy the first two. The Aural? Eh, it has it's place but not as a fuzz. Not a bad drive, though.
