- My little salt block. A Fairbanks Z style D engine. This is a nice little engine that runs quite well. It only needed a points cleaning, oil change and fuel system cleaing to run.
The mag has no impulse to start so you have to get it spinning pretty good to fire off.
Dispite its size its a heavy little bugger.
That's a cute little engine. It doesn't run to bad, it shakes a little bit, but people like that shit.
a trick i learned for mine that works awsome is to clean out an old spray bottle label it gas so no one confuses it, and fill it with regular gas 2 stroke mix gas. . spray a couple pumps into the air intake and then crank it over. you wont need to choke it while cranking and it will start so much easier! and wont hurt anything like ether can.
sounds like its running good to me. thats how they should sound. yeah the muffler is briggs.
@805ROADKING Yep, its just kind of sitting between those green wooden skids. This one is comming to that show too.
@SmallEngineMechanic sounds like its running the correct speed anyway! the gastank doesnt look original to me, but pull up your check valve make sure its clean and your mesh screen on the fuel pick up tube needs to be clean. put some form-a-gasket on the gasket between the engine and the carb and that alone made a huge difference at least on my engine. my engine used to backfire and run kinda rough. but its nice and smooth now!
@1944johndeerel Thanks, what I ment by it wasn't running right is the governor usually likes to surge a little bit. Didn't seen that was in the video, go figure lol.
Tengo el fairbank morse 1930 en mi propiedad, funciona sólo esta falta de anillas.
sounds to me like you are running it just a little to rich. also, there is no need to cover the carburetter for more than to strokes. after that, you just flood it. but, sounds good though! good job!
you have the throttle lever fully open, as they run really slow
interested in one like this...what Hp is it?
can you tell me what kind of magneto it has and model? thanks
