A few food suggestions for Kolkata, 2 or 3 each in 6 categories:
1) KOLKATA CHINESE : in Tangra where restaurants abound - Tung Fong, Kim Fa etc etc - there are a many. You might also try Eau Chew - Tangra style food but located near Esplanade - Chowringhee. Basic decor, but run by the same Chinese family for about 100 years now - so they must be doing something right.
2) UPMARKET BENGALI: Aaheli in Peerless Inn, Oh! Calcutta etc. Aaheli is a favourite, reportedly, of Bangladeshi cricketers: it is near Eden Gardens and the Grand Hotel, where they often stay.
3) FUSION: WESTERN AND BENGALI/ INDIAN: Indian/ Bengali dishes with twists from the quirky to the inspired. Start with Bohemian or Spice Kraft near where you lodge in Ballygunge. There are many others and variations if you like the concept.
4) PARK STREET CONTINENTAL: Mocambo, Peter Cat etc. Favourites on the menu here have been unchanged for decades, so again they must be doing something right.
5) KOLKATA CLUBLAND: Tollygunge Club, Saturday Club, Calcutta Club, Bengal Club, Royal Calcutta Golf Club etc. You’ll need membership of a club that has reciprocal arrangements to enter (Dhaka Club for instance) or come as a guest of a member. With exceptions, the food can be good, not great. However the ambience is to die for, minimally changed since these hugely historic Clubs started life (Saturday Club in 1875, Bengal Club in 1813 etc). Prices are way lower than restaurants, and the old world experience can be duplicated by no commercial eatery. You’ll literally eat history in these Clubs - your viewers are sure to like an episode or two.
6) HISTORIC CALCUTTA EATERIES:
6A) Great Eastern Hotel - near Dacre's Lane, some sort of eating house, tavern or hotel has stood here, per legend, since the 1690s. The present building started life as Wilson’s Hotel in 1840, and for 100 years was THE hotel in Calcutta and the Empire. Loads of the rich and famous have been guests in the past (Presidents, Prime Ministers, British, German and other European Royalty, every Indian Royal family worth the name, Viceroys, writers (Mark Twain, Tagore, Kipling etc), famous actors and actresses, notorious crooks...you get the picture). Wilson's arguably played an indispensable part in the rise of Calcutta's wealth and influence, as the great houses of North Calcutta hired them as caterers to the celebrations they hosted to curry favour with the ruling British. Colourful stories here are a dime a dozen - there are even (completedly unsubstantiated) claims that Nawab Siraj ud Dowla visited the eatery that stood here when he sacked Calcutta in 1756! Again, food is in Great Eastern variable - it is recovering from decades of neglect - but go for the sense that you are dining in past centuries.
6B) The CCFC (Calcutta Cricket and Football Club): Started in 1792 off Ballygunge, this is the least pretentious and imposing of Kolkata’s old clubs, but possibly the most historic. You’ll sit overlooking the second oldest cricket ground in the world (after Lord’s, London) and if you ask the waiters, they’ll tell you which items of the menu are unchanged/ minimally changed for the last 225 years.

Zeeshan এর নাম যাঁরা রেকমেন্ড করেছেন তাঁরা একদম ঠিক।আমার মতে পার্ক সার্কাস অঞ্চলের সব থেকে ভাল খাওয়ার জায়গা।zeeshan বহু পুরোনো রেস্টুরেন্ট।কিন্তু এইভাবে রসিয়ে রসিয়ে আর দেখিয়ে খাওয়াটা একদম ঠিক না। আপনার খাওয়া দেখে আমার তো জিভে জল এসে গেল।কি যে করি এখন😋😋😂😂😝😝

আর একটা বলছি, দামটা এদের তুলনায় অনেক বেশি। আমেরিকান রেস্টুরেন্ট, Chili's Grill and bar, Quest mall এ আছে, ওটা বেস্ট। এছাড়া এর আউটলেট আছে সাউথ সিটি মল আর Acropolis mall এ। ওখানে beef steak best।
