The Lexx is the most powerful destructive force in the two universes. In Lexx season 2 episode 19, titled 'Brizon,' the eponymous villain commandeers the ship (And the bodies of the crew, each for different purposes) and attempts to destroy Mantrid, the villain of the season. Here are two clips from that episode that should tell you just about all you need to know about Mantrid.

I absolutely loved this show, I remember watching Sci-Fi's Friday line up with my Dad, Andromeda, Stargate SG-1, LEXX, and Farscape. Great times...

Dieter Lasser was a fantastic Mantrid. He hammed it up to absurd levels, and it was glorious. :)

This alone, and in its context, proves to me that the writers of this show were geniuses. (Prions are mis-folded proteins which cause other proteins to mis-fold, which ultimately results in disease; Mad Cow disease is an example). That the writers knew about this is impressive and using it as an insult between two uber-biologists, both with an ego the size of a galactic core, is genius and hilarious
I love that one bio-vizier calls the other one a "prion", which is basically the smallest, simplest, and lowliest form of pseudo-life that exists, even below viruses. It's a perfect in-industry diss.
It's also hilarious how Mantrid immediately pretends to become conciliatory when Brizon produces his secret weapon. Sadly, the uploader left out the intervening scenes where Brizon actually finds out that he's been had, and ends up being disassembled by Mantrid, allowing Xev to escape.

Ah, Lexx. I loved this slice of Canadian oddity. I'd love to know the thought process that went into the Brizon's huge papier mache hat+Jacobian ruff costume.

Stanley Twiddle is basically hugely inspired by Arnold J. Rimmer, and Brian Downey did his job wonderfully. Yet Americans couldn't have found anyone for their remake/re-imagine of Red Dwarf of past? :(

The writers’ reach definitely exceeded what the production was capable of but it is still one heck of a space opera.

dieter laser is the creepiest actor out there today. i'm not as scared of mantrid as i am of the doctor (he played) in "the human centipede". we could have gotten the best of both(or creepiest of both worlds) worlds if mantrid attempted to make a human centipede out of xev, kai, and stan.

Anyone know why Xenia stumbles and has to lean on Michael's shoulder during his exchange with Dieter at the end? It would make sense if Xev was still tethered to Brizon, but this episode is late enough in the season that the actress ought to be used to walking in those boots by now.
I think it's part of the script. Brizon was parasitically linked to her liver with a big spike thing, which was still inside her and needed to be removed later. She stumbled I guess to show she was weakened and injured after the ordeal.
