The beginning with the Ghostbusters was very clever. And not to mention the clean voice acting for the nes.
For back then it was pretty amazing to hear voices on the nes
The voices ?

The Amiga original did the same thing, but the troll game was Defender of the Crown.
@@SNARC15 Seeing as it's a Cinemaware game, that's pretty funny.
"You imbeciles!" *Slap* one of the best lines in a weird nes game ever
One of the most WTF games on NES library.
Oh, a Miraculous user who watches the antics of these numbskulls?
Eh, why not? We could use another fan.
Both the plot and gameplay were lifted from the Stooges shorts. So if you have watched the shorts the wtf goes away. To be replaced with o ya I remember that.
Only wtf if youre a zoomer
Yes
@@GMOTP5738 Millennial here. This game is pretty wtf.
Thank you for uploading this longplay of Ghostbusters II for NES, it's much appreciated
I actually remember playing this! Grew up watching Three Stooges shorts on TV and on VHS. Yes, I am that old!
That's not that long ago.
I had this game as a kid. Some parts used to scare me.
Yeah, the voice samples can be frustrating at times, especially on the oyster minigame when Larry misses a bean from the oysters.
X2
@Juan Rodarte Oh, thanks for the info.
Whoooaah, for 1988 and for on a nes, this is mind blowing, the nes was only 3 years on the market in the us and they already did knew how to put such amezing graphics on the nes along with lot’s of digitized samples in 1988,and that at a time when memory was still expensive and when there was a chip shortage at the time and all when enhanced chips such as the mmc5 had to be yet developed???
Seriously this just blows my mind, especially for 8bit standards in 1988.
I remember owning this....non stop fun and quirky humor....I loved the stage of Larry running down the street to grab a radio 📻
Wow, flashback to my childhood! I used to play this game ALL the time when I was a kid and got really good at it, actually. My dad loves the Three Stooges so I grew up watching them so as weird as this game is, it was just normal to me. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Yep same. . .can't imagine another kid playing this thank you haha i sucked at it tho. . how old were you when u played it?
There are some rules that the game footage doesn't show.
1: 4 mouse traps on the newspaper select screen end the game.
2: Fighting can slow the cursor, which speeds up after every pick. Making it harder to dodge the mouse traps.
3: Every pie you hit with earned you more pies to throw. It's possible to get 3000 in a single pie game. Along with the cracker eating competition.
With the mouse traps, is it 4 mouse traps for the entire play-through or does the counter reset every day?
@@easternshore8367 The entire play-through.
Man, thanks for the tips, as a kid I still get lost for this game, beacuse this is the most hardest game on NES
Even as a kid, I loved hearing actual dialogue from Moe & Larry at 0:13-0:18.
I first got this game in the mid-1990's when I was kid & could never beat it, but, I didn't care because I'm a big fan of The 3 Stooges.
I was amazed how they were able to take actual lines from an episode & incorporate them into a video game like that.
same loved the cracker game and the hospital game . .sucked at the rest
The intro is just ingenius
I still have my nes cart. Used to love this game
Wow one of the Few games of NES that had voice actors
Was this the original Wario Ware, haha!
Imagine if this gets in NES Switch Online. Good game to learn.
May their soul rest in peace😔🤧🎐
The music is torture. Anyway: It was a pretty big deal to hear voice samples in a NES game back then and this game got lots of them.
Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.
why soytenly
It really takes me back, though I never played this...those sounds and the graphics...so 1980s!!!
I didn't even know this existed! I want to buy this game complete right now now!
Get the Commodore Amiga version.
I feel honored that i played it 30 years ago bro.
8:32 - To play the sample, the entire music player momentarily stops, without first silencing any playing notes. The result probably makes me laugh harder than intended.
Ahhh Cinemaware. I used to love their games. This game and Rocket Ranger took up a lot of my time as a kid.
7:00 - I could never make it that far.
OMG is the third version of Ghostbusters II, but no, it's The Three Stooges!
Hi play at AVGN and Pat the NES Punk!
This is undoubtedly the best port of this Amiga classic. It's missing some stuff, but it's a very solid port. In some ways, it's actually a little _better_ than the Amiga original, too, like Moe's "We're in the wrong game!" line and the wheel-like selector for going places.
All-and-all, though, it's a very nice port of a very fun little game.
I like how Ghost Busters 2 was just there and it being random in the beginning.
What was the point of 14:32-15:16, exactly?...
The last time I played this game was when I was a kid in the kid-1990's & even then, I never got it.
It slows down the hand that picks the mini game. It gets quite helpful later on when it starts moving faster.
[the Stooges see the title screen for Ghostbusters II]
Me: What Ghostbusters II
Curly: Hey fellas, we're in the wrong game.
Larry: Hey, this looks like a kids' game.
Me: Now That’s Funny
Moe: You imbeciles!
Curly: [smack] Ow!
God that scream always scare me
Oh its you, that guy from Shakm's stream
Oh hey guy from shakm stream
Such a great graphics for a nes game
i was thinking the same thing.
Loved this Cinemaware(?) game on the Amiga...Played a lot of this and Defender Of The Crown 💯🙏
08:00 best mini game ever
CONGRATULATION
4:32 A MIB question?? Such a 90s question for a 3 Stooges Game!
I had to look it up, because I was like, what the heck?? Turns out the "Men in Black" they're referring to is a 1934 short film, starring the Stooges.
I used to play this game so much!... When i was small I used to think Curly was saying,"God damn you!" During the cracker eating contest.

I didn't even know there was such a game
What an ordeal.
Definitive edition on the Amiga.
I only know this game existence thanks to Avgn heck I just rewatch that review of this game today
The Angry Video Game Nerd should review this game!
He did. Wishlist part 2.
What was with the Mozart?
The pie music sounds very close to Back To The Future in spots
AVGN brought me here!
NES? Huh... I remember emulating this for the GBA and seeing how weird it was.
The soup!
This need a remastered switch version. With the NES graphics made a good job, but with the modern consoles can be better in all.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Congratulations $$$
Well done for an unlicensed game.
It was licensed. Activision was an NES licensee.
Dawn, this voice clips is Nice
Based upon classic short film in 1930's
0:11 is the part sampled in WaE K2
Fire drill time
For Nes there's voice actor sound, wow

Imagine a video game with graphics as realistic as Call of Duty, GTA 5, and Assassins Creed, but with elements as cartoonish as The Three Stooges, Mr. Bean, and Spongebob Squarepants, and the game is below Rated T for Teen.
i'd fund a kickstartter for a 3 stooges game right fucking now dude.
Wouldn't be surprised if this game was limited to the US, don't think 3 Stooges caught on in the UK I've never seen it/them
It definitely came out in the UK I had it on C64, but you're right, they never caught as much here and I can't imagine the game sold very well in the UK.
Yeah, UK here and never seen 3 stooges either
If they made it a multiplayer thing where you can pick a Stooge and they compete with each other through minigames to get money for the orphanage, and only the winner gets to marry a girl at the end, it would basically be Mario Party. They should also have Shemp, Joe Besser, Joe DeRita, and Emil Sitka as playable Stooges.
avgn
nice graphics in NES of 1987
Ummm, trying to save the orphanage... isn't this the plot to that 2012 movie? :D
Yes, but this came first.
I still watch 3 Stooges and started laughing 😆 when they beat each other 🆙 but I don’t have this game but I have my cds 💿 of them and I watched them after my grandmother 👵 passed away years ago and she would be proud 🥲 and I wish she was here to see this and I paid tribute to my grandmother 👵 at her memorial place and I eventually watched the 3 Stooges on CZcams and that’s good times I have and that really got me laughing 😆 when they beat each other 🆙 and if you’re watching this, please take my advice: please don’t try this at home 🏡, if you do you may cause serious injury to other people and I wouldn’t want that and you wouldn’t either please take my advice please keep your hands 🙌 and feet 🦶 to yourself.👍
Yeah I still remember the 3 Stooges before they passed away years ago and I still remember how they beat each other 🆙 and that’s what made me laugh 😆 and that’s good times and amazing comment I sent you and I hope you remember what I sent you and thank you 🙏.👍
ae
This isn't the best ending. The best ending has the Stooges marry the three daughters.
On nes, there were only three endings. Failure. Pay off the mortgage. Or pay off the mortgage and fix the house. Believe me, I have earned enough money to see the 4th ending if it existed.
@@warrmalaski8570 To get the best ending, you need at least $20,000.
@@Tubewings Which means only the best players who are also diehard Stooge fans will be able to get this.

That's a little disturbing.
The Nerd: The Three Stooges, this has always been a huge request. I've dreaded this moment for a long time. (The Nerd inserts the NES cartridge. The title screen shows a "Ghostbusters II" logo and title, playing some spooky music.) What?! Ghostbusters II?! (The Three Stooges walk together to stand in front of the title, and a record scratching sound effect plays, stopping the music.)
Curly: [they see the title screen for Ghostbusters II] Hey fellas, we're in the wrong game.
Larry: Hey, this looks like a kids' game.
The Nerd: Now That’s Funny
Moe: You imbeciles!
[smack]
Curly: Ow!
The Nerd: I've always been a big fan of The Three Stooges, but the game's charm ends right after the title screen. The plot involves an orphanage that's unable to pay its mortgage. So you're trying to raise money so that the kids have a place to live. That's sad. That's not a fun video game concept! It takes the idea of something that's... too real.
The Nerd: The game itself is nothing more than a bunch of mini-games. You have no control over which one you play. You can't cancel them. Whatever you land on, you're forced to play it, and you can get the same one over and over again. It always seems like I end up getting the one where you eat the live oysters. All you do is move the spoon and scoop up oysters. The spoon moves way too slow. It doesn't give you enough time before the oysters disappear and Curly makes an obnoxious sound.
Curly: Augh!
The Nerd: I can't even describe how much this all irritates me. I'M SICK OF PLAYING IT! I'M SICK OF LOOKING AT IT! I HATE STARING AT THOSE OYSTERS! THEY DON'T EVEN LOOK LIKE OYSTERS, THEY LOOK LIKE ASSHOLES! I'M NOT EVEN TRYIN' TO BE FUNNY, THEY REALLY LOOK LIKE DOGS' HAIRY ASSHOLES, RISING IN THE STEW! WHAT ELSE COULD IT LOOK LIKE?!
The Nerd: Then there's the part when you're in the hospital collecting red crosses. Mindless, but playable. There's the classic pie fight, and the slapping thing. Self-explanatory enough. I don't know what all that shit is at the top. If it wasn't there, I assure you, I wouldn't be confused. This is what you'd expect to see from The Three Stooges, but obviously the whole game couldn't just be the Three Stooges slapping each other in the alley the whole time, so they tried to give it some variety.
The Nerd: The best part is the trivia, but what happened with the controls? You have multiple choice answers. To choose A, you hold left on the D-pad while pressing either the A or B button at the same time. To choose B, you hold up or down and hit the button. To choose C, you hold right and hit the button. Why couldn't it just be a simple selection screen? What kind of knuckleheads programmed it like this?! Was this game actually MADE by the Three Stooges?!
The Nerd: The most annoying game of all is the one based on a specific Three Stooges short, called "Punch Drunks". In the short, Moe is a boxing manager who puts Curly in the ring to take advantage of his psychological complex that causes him to knock people out whenever he hears the song "Pop Goes the Weasel". Larry is hired by Moe to sit ringside with the violin and play the song so that Curly can win the fight. But the violin breaks, and now Larry has to go running to find an alternative.
The Nerd: It's a great short, but with all that explanation, how much does the game tell you? Nothing. All you get is a shot of Larry holding the broken violin, and then the game starts with Larry running around trying to find a radio. It's no wonder why nobody knew what the fuck to make of this! Even if kids in the 80's were familiar at all with The Three Stooges, what was the chance of them knowing a specific short from 1934?
The Nerd: You control Larry on the bottom. There's no telling why Curly is at the top. The only reason any of this is up there is to show the time limit. But it's too elaborate and distracting; it only makes you wish you were playing the boxing part, instead of Larry running through an alley slamming into everything!
The Nerd: That's all you do, you hit everything in sight! It's the equivalent of the first stage of Back to the Future III on Sega Genesis! By the way, who's the naked guy lying on the sidewalk? (Yells two times) No matter what I do, I always hit the pole or the boxes in the background; and you can't run, or else you'll never see what's coming. Fuck this game!
Ugh. Remember playing through and beating through this game, but at least the intro was funny for what its worth.
Love/ hate this game ever since I played this on the C64 as a kid...horrible loading times there, plus the trivia games (a then 13 year old kid from the Netherlands with no cultural knowledge from the Stooges whatsoever)...
GBA version totally had some Commodore Amiga flavour....
👍🏽😉
i always keep thinking larry is curly cause of the curly hair
It's irony! Because he doesn't have curly hair, he's shaved bald
😎👍
I had this game when I was 5, and remember it being painfully weird... >_< ;((((((((
The thumbnail / soup portion looks like Brandon. Stooge indeed.
Cringe
It must be me because I thought and still think this is the most stupid video game ever
This game is ASS
My cousin and I would laugh our asses off playing this.
