Epic work, looks excellent.
Head might be hard to source if you want a full squad of these. Also a pretty big model, with not much realism as a proxy for a flying mech. Maybe if it was something grounded.
Bonereapers are fine for Tyranid Warriors or a slow Necron or Admech unit. Castellon Robots maybe?
Moorrreeee
Not gonna lie, I didn't expect Mushroom Gunslinger.
*jaw harp music intensifies*
After "Billy the 'nid" and the Mechanical Seven, one could say it was the logical next step.
A tau-boy
A surprise to be sure but a welcomed one
It’s hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiighmushroom
tau auxiliaries are such a cool space to explore with conversions, i'd love to see you do more of this kind of thing!!
No, no. Please. More humongous robots that broke 6e and made the game dumber ever since, please. No auxiliaries.
@@Kaiyanwang82 he meens in army flavor ya goof lol
My favorite part of playing tau, is that you could make anything you want as a proxy, slap some tau bits on there, and it's now 100% cannon, because it's not like the Tau species get any art anyway.
Amazing work and would love to see more kitbashes either complex like this or more of your normal stuff.
Noted! The Xenos stuff is trickier because it's more about coming up with something new rather than riffing off what already exists but I'll certainly try my best.
@@PeteTheWargamer this video was awesome! I think next you could try turning the seraphon/lizardmen into tau auxiliaries
@@daniele0375 that would be soooooo dope! 🔥🔥🔥
@@daniele0375yeeesss with the new sculpts!
@@daniele0375 Would love to se him do that, im doing just that myself. Would be a great oportunity to get some good ideas from him.
Something interesting is in the Xenology book, there is a mycelium based race with 3 legs and what looks to be tau weaponry, so this could be an interesting way of bringing them to 40k or having a different mushroom people
I love this. The concept, the sculpting and kitbash, and the high blue-orange contrast. Just all really inspired and challenging. The basing also gives me an idea to tie into some old green dry brushed sand astroturf bases.
This is pretty timely, considering the fact that I've been planning out a new custom Tau army composed almost entirely of auxiliaries. If you plan on making more Tau tutorials, maybe you could make one on converting human or votann auxiliaries, like your videos on guard regiments.
I love a good saurus/skink tau conversion too, there's a decent number put there but a tutorial would be amazing.
The mushroom lad is properly unique and amazing though, always wanted to do a little kill team like this
@@GeneralAdvance I don't disagree but given the refresh the seraphon are getting in a few months it might be best for him to wait for that... or ask GW for those models because I'd kill to see some wild shit like skink cowboy cavalry
This is probably my favourite kitbash you've done. I absolutely love the concept of "space-fungus-xenos", and the T'au need some more interesting Auxiliaries. Also, love that colour scheme - the blue-grey and orange contrast looks so good, might steal it for my models!
orks also fall under the "space-fungus-xenos" category, don't they? :P
Reminds me of the land sharks from Battle LA
Also I just started a necron army and painted them in the same blue
Came here to say the same haha!
The idea of using ossiarch minis to create a base for a biomechanical model is truly a great choice.
I would love to see some other tau auxiliary and just other species in general in the future. I would especially love to see a Rak Gol conversion.
Also is there any reason why you save your basing until the very last step?
I think basing is left for last so that you don’t have to worry about messing it up with later painting, and so the model fits into it better. That’s just my guess
I certainly don't have your same imagination to create an auxiliary race for T'au from scratch.
However, a number of years ago, I began using Karmans from the AT-43 miniatures line as auxiliaries for my T'au forces in 40K. The models were inexpensive at the time, and they look fantastic when dressed up with a wash and some nice basing.
I have no experience painting and building models, but your videos fill me with absolute joy, and I now have a kill team concept I'm trying to get together. Keep up the great work!
Quick note: if you’re buying a ‘kill team’ box (units/starter set), I’d recommend buying a unit of infantry or a character to practice on as they have lots of detail. Or some boarding patrol boxes, some have a kill team such as Orks or aeldari (I think) as well as other guys to practice on. Or ignore me, I’m just some random internet guy and you should follow what you think
I absolutely love this!
If I were to field them as battlesuit proxies, I would add some tyranid wings in a moth or dragonfly like configuration, to make the fly rule make sense.
Definitely would love more like this! In terms of coming up with new ideas, Tyranids are always mutating into new biomorphs, there's always something to be made with them. More Tau auxiliaries would also be great, even if it's making better Vespids.
Would be really cool converting vespids from Warriors or something, no clue what you could do for the insectoid wings though
As a die hard Dal'yth collector, custom auxiliaries are SO up my alley. This model was fantastic and I'd LOVE to see more!
I would love to see some more Tau auxiliaries from you whether it's the more established stuff like Gue'vesa or more esoteric stuff like this.
Yeah I'd be very interested in more videos like this
This kinda stuff would be great if officially added to the T'au range!
Even if GW didn't want to write unique rules, even just having a model stand in for other T'au models would add so much flavor i feel like.
I love this conversion, I could totally see him being used by the tau as a hazardous environment troops
The idea of a Tau army with all the units as custom xenos race that's allied into the Tau Empire is really cool
I do wish GW would pay more attention to non-mech T'au.
It would probably be imbalanced as hell if they added the other races of the T'au emprie to the tabletop like the not!Squats, brain worms and super-psycher bears, but maybe for killteam at least?
My ideal scenario would be if T'au was broken up into two armies like how Eldar are 5 and we get a separate army book for the Tau Auxillary Legion with models for the 20 or so canonical T'au empire races. A man can dream.
Bro this is literally the best kitbash I've ever seen it's so unique
Maybe cause last of us in the zeitgeist but I imagine these guys being unkbowingly imitators other creatures around them. A space marine returns from his mission only to take off his helmet revealing a twisting stalks and caps of the creature that replaced them. As his former brothers level thier weapons, emotionless and unaware, he asks "what are my orders?"
knowing how GW operates, a entire race based on the phrase "There's a fungus among us" is very fitting for them.
Now I know what I'm doing for my next batch of Deathwatch RPG villains. I've already raided the Dark Souls miniatures for Ornstein and Smough (as alien metal bodies like the Astartes fan film).
There really is... much room for creativity within these newer plastic kits.
Pete this auxilia xeno looks awesome! It looks like the tau tried a crazy experiment, trying to combine tech with bio organic engineering.
Really love the palette you went with. The bright orange with the muted grey just came out really nice.
A killteam of tau auxiliaries would be sick. Thank you for the inspiration
This was such a good kitbash! I wouldn't be against turning the idea of kitbashing Tau auxiliaries into a series
This needs a full army. I love it! The color pallet and everything.
Thanks for all the work you do Pete
This has some strong Kenshi vibes. Wasteland gunslinger. Love it!
I am always amazed you come up with this stuff. This is awesome!
This is so cool, probably my new favorite video of yours! I’d love to see more of this race or just similar conversions in general!
Wow, dude this is phenomenal. I’m always so psyched when you post, the creativity is out of control. 🎉
This is really incredible! Very inspiring coming up with and executing a really cool and fitting homebrew!
This would be amazing for making Tyranid Warriors too!
it is amazing how you create a very unique look here with just a few kits and a little sculpting! loved this, would like to see more in that direction!
It was ... INCREDIBLE!
This is maybe my favorite thing you've ever done, the use of fantasy skeleton weirdos as fungal aliens is inspired and I think this all just a really cool idea
Absolutely love this idea, kitbash and paintjob! I really love seeing what you do beyond the imperium and Space Marines and I hope this video gets the attention it deserves to warrant venturing into more 'out there' videos :) great vid!
This is honestly my fav kitbash of yours design-wise
So inspiring
This is one of your coolest conversions to date. I think it would be an awesome series to see either more of this race, or more wild and wacky tau auxiliaries
I love seeing what you can do when you set yourself loose with all of your originality! More of this please!
This is so amazingly original. I love it! I’d love to see more
Awesome stuff!
I’m loving all of these kit bashes. This one in particular is so cool
"What the hell is that?" The human auxillary borderline screamed as he saw the nearly 9 foot tall mass of machine and fungi walk by. His squadmate, a tau warrior of the fire caste simply started laughing in response.
"What's the matter, never seen a Scrav Aioc before?" The Gue'vsa stated silent.
"Don't worry, human, they are on our side thankfully. These guys are some of the strongest soldiers our empire can field, I've personally seen a few rip a space marine in half. Catch is, see those helmets they are wearing?"
"...yea" the human muttered in response.
"Those are needed not only for them to breathe but to communicate with us. Scrav don't talk like me or you, they communicate with pheromones. Strange buggers if I do say so myself, but fine warriors. Now come on, we should keep going."
The two warriors looked once more at the massive fungal alien, and continued on their way.
I would love to see more of this race!
More like this! It's cool seeing you create your own unique race
You’ve really really nailed it with this one Pete, great job!
This turned out really cool! Yes, I'd love to see more stuff like it.
This is incredible. I love this model and Id love to see more conversions like this!
Love this kind unique kind of conversion
Awesome. Keep em coming. Original concepts are always a good thing.
Dude, you continue to absolutely blow me away with your imagination, creativity and just pure talent. All the Kudos!
This is a super unique idea and flawless execution.

This is a beautiful and very unique work!
This looks amazing, if only I had the time, money, patience and skill to pull this off XD. Would love to see more like this in the future
Id love more of these!
This is so cool. Reminds me of a few pieces of artwork I have seen in the past. Lovely work.
I love this. Been trying to come up with some ideas for a space station 0 team and this has inspired some ideas. Thanks!
That looks like an awesome kitbash!
This is really cool, great work!

Amazing result! Nice color scheme!
That is a near perfect conversion complemented with a really thoughtfull and stiking paint scheme. I love it.
I love this. I really want to see more Tau aux units from GW. Been waiting for you to do more Tau kitbashes. Thanks Pete!
This video was really fun to see, and interesting in that we don't really see custom xenos kit bashes. Love the concept and hope to see more videos like this!
So dope. Would love to see more.
This is awesome! More please.
This is the best idea I have ever seen on the Internet
I'd love to learn some more lore about these guys! Stellar job 💚
