    After all my hours that I put in here beforehand to weld in new pieces like new nose welded on , boot floor and rear panel , floor panels , inner wings, a-posts, outer sills , rear sills , rear quarter panel lower parts , rear axles .... ( see on my older videos ) ,I am really satisfied that I am over this milestone and finally make the chassis look so nice.... It was all worth it !!! To everyone working on a project good luck☘and keep going you will get there 💪

      Would it not have been quicker to have it chemically dipped, to go down to bare metal with a DA, must have taken ages, I have done a few restorations, tr6, Vauxhall vx490, bmw 3 series 2.8 convertable presently a classic mini, that will not be getting finished, and will be selling ASAP, looks good😂

    I always remember the time just around 1970.
    I was just a boy age 5 and my father drove a 2002 tii. First a red one with the round backlights and later one with the square lights at the back.
    At that time there was no speed limit in the Netherlands.
    These cars were something special, ahead of their time.
    I later owned a 323i E21 & E30 325 E30 & Touring E30 but the 2002 is the ultimate for me.
    If your car is finished it will be close to perfection I think .

    • @mrt7152
      @mrt7152 Před rokem

      Ik snap je beweegredenen, maar ondanks je de voorkantjes soldeer zijn ze nog steeds vrij makkelijk te demonteren. Of je nou een kit naadje los snijd of je tin even verwarmd met een brandertje. En je stopt zo veel werk in, en zeer puik werk in je autootje je bent echt een vak man. Je loopt nergens de kantjes er vanaf. Persoonlijk vind ik het neusje af als die naadloos overloopt in de voor schermen. Maar dat is persoonlijk natuurlijk. En het beschermd beter tegen vocht en daardoor ook tegen roest. Maar laat de filmpjes maar komen ik geniet er van. Heb van de zomer de nieuwe (performance) motor gehangen. Heb er maar twee keer mee gereden. Heb gewoon te weinig tijd om hem af te stellen en de puntjes op de i te zetten. Hopelijk van de winter dan maar. Succes!

    • @Restorezone
      @Restorezone  Před rokem

      let's just take english ;) I did indeed put putty on my epoxy ( of course also sanding the area to be treated a bit so that your putty sticks to it.. ) and that may well be that once here and there you're through and on exposed metal after putting several coats on.... But I try, if possible as little as possible on exposed metal for older cars.... ( and they do say yes putty also has rust inhibiting factors but one putty is not the other putty I don't fully trust that )
      With newer cars this is a different story... the sheet metal is already much better treated and better rust resistant than before....
      One more tip. always try to knock out all those deepest dents as best as possible before ! you put it in that epoxy. I'm sure you understand this ;)
      good luck !

    • @Restorezone
      @Restorezone  Před 7 měsíci

      This was honestly an in between solution ( the Ghibli is my vacuum cleaner for vacuuming cars ) , vacuum hose is way too thick is also not antistatic and clunky and I had to put a spacer to get on the sander , also I put an extra filter bag in the vacuum cleaner so the motors wouldn't break down from all that fine dust. The sander itself is way too heavy for this work , now I use a festool ctl mini vacuum cleaner with a mirka deros sander , you can also go for the festool sander is what you prefer yourself

  • @kirilakmadjov8307

    What is this epoxy stuff that you spray first i have not heard of it i usually do it filler primer paint

    • @gerhard6105
      @gerhard6105 Před rokem +1

      It is a coating that seals of the metal for oxygen. Through primer, oxygen can penetrate, not through epoxy. In Holland, somebody did his Alfa 33 with it, and about 25 after that restauration, the car is still rust free.

    • @Restorezone
      @Restorezone  Před rokem +1

      To older cars, it is certainly not bad to put an epoxy on first because the metal has not yet been treated as well as the newer cars and because an epoxy primer has the best! rust protection, the body of the car is protected from the formation of corrosion, rust and oxidation. And you are sure of a good base layer that you can work on. Then putty, and primer or filler primer ... the second as the name says just fill even more (extra thick) so you are sure if you still have sanding scratches or unevennesses to fill and also something to protect, if you use this on newer cars after your filler work is normal and you do this well , grtz

    • @Restorezone
      @Restorezone  Před rokem

      Oops there I wrote a mistake , too late can't change it now .. actually my last step was 280 before the epoxy , and the epoxy was then done with 320, To then get ready for primer ... Another question what do you use it for ? Because there is a difference in that because if it is in construction on bare steel yes then it is 80 to 120
      But on galvanized metal you may even go up to 400 according to me prescribed table! which I then personally find too fine too ...
