    Pawpaws are more of an understory trees. They grow in clumps under big over story trees such as oak, maple, beech, ash, and hickory. They like moist rich soil. You pawpaw might be drying out too much

      I have them planted in the shade of a large Asian pear. They are doing MUCH better this year mostly because of the rain

    I never understood green lawns. My property is full of trees apple and peach and grapes and garden. We dont eat grass.

    Did you know that if you take your first fruits, first produce, and write that on them and take them to church and put in the collection pan, your harvest will produce way more than expected. Give God all the Glory!! God Bless you!!! Also did you know you can contact tree companies that shred their trees and they will for free dump the wood chips in your yard.

    Not gonna lie I subscribed after the first video I watched, this is the second and automatically felt as though I had to support y’all…I went on a little shopping spree, oh my beans y’all have the coolest store!     Everything looks amazing.. it must be true that everything is bigger in Taxes!! So of my trees are way older and half that size... I am a zone 5 and we have good winters here. Wonder if that's why it's a lot slower growing. And the sound was great!!!

    That is an excellent use of land. I am working toward something similar on my property in zone 8a Ga. If I were you, I would look into getting some of the cold hardy citrus hybrids for the property. There is the Thomasville and Yuzu that are good down to the single digits, plenty for zone 8a.

      I had an A&M Frost. I paid $95 for it 5 years ago and it’s didn’t survive the first year even though it had a diameter of over an inch

      @@TheTexasBoys I haven’t heard of that one. McKenzie farm in South Carolina has all of the proven hybrids and varieties that are cold hardy to the teens and single digits. He’s on CZcams as well.

    Sometimes you guys make my head explode. I can't believe you did all that in less than 8 years. Thank you for sharing, it really does help people like me realize what can be done for "food freedom." The cuttings I got from you are doing pretty good, I'll send you a pic in Instagram. I still can't comprehend how you stick a cutting in the ground and it starts growing but it's happening before my eyes. Thanks for the education y'all... oh and the mics sound awesome!

    Wow. The 401K food forest is looking great TD.
    I reckon that soon you're going to have more produce than you know what to do with :)
    I was wondering whether you have thought about geese ? I mixed geese with chickens quite successfully. And they are better than a guard dog or cats against the predators. Good eating too.

      Our rain gutters are plumbed to our pond. We have 3 separate zones of gray water that are plumbed direct to the back food forest

    Beautiful forest garden. I started one a couple years ago, but we are in zone 3 so we are somewhat limited on th,e fruit we can grow. But I do want to grow Bob Gordon elderberries. Can u ship to Canada? 🇨🇦🌷

      The only up keep now that the trees are established is seasonal pruning and just attempts at improving the soil with mulch and animal rotation. So you could easily not touch anything for 3-4 months with no issues

    What and clay ....do you put on your trees?... Where can I get that clay stuff? I just started planting my little food forest-apples, peaches, figs and blueberries. You just trim in Fall? You said burn to the ground-was that intentional? Do you mostly just pick and eat or is it all for freezing and canning etc?

      You can do a lot in a small area. If you want to raise cows I would say start at 10 acres

    Amazing fruit forest but how is this a survival forest when there’s not anything to live off of. What o mean by that is fruit does not contain all the nutrients you need.
