Hello everyone!! Initial thoughts on this grip?
Looks good to me..Defo be interested in trying it out
Looks like a good idea for people that are having putting woes.
I’m not sure if this would be for me.
I tried this undergrip on my normal superstroke and Hit a Personal record 29 putts on 18 holes on Winter aerated shitty greens. Allready ordered the grip 😍👍
Looks like the Garsen MAX grip that i have been playing for 4 years...A litte oversized version
Palms facing forward/up was advocated by Paul Runyon many years ago, I think this grip might help facilitate this style, would be worth a go
Hi Alex, as said previously I’d send some feedback after using the Kotahi putter grip. I use the under size one and it’s fitted to one of my original Ping Anser putters which I have had for years and still love them! The anser being designed to have an arc when putting as opposed to a more ‘straight back straight through ‘ stroke however that terminology can be misleading as we know. With the new grip I sensed my stroke arc lessened and the club head stayed to the correct path easier and my feeling was that the shoulders sat back better during set up and through the stroke delivering a stroke that gave the opportunity to achieve the task. Awareness of the shoulders controlling the hold and the stroke increased dramatically .
Ordered the larger size today. I’ve been fiddling with the palms up grip, this certainly looks like the best grip for that. I’m another “tried everything” guy, figure it’s worth a shot. The idea of taking my hands & wrists out of the stroke is certainly appealing.
Bought the underside and with the cold weather in the NE have been putting in the basement. So far I love the feel and the stability with my hands. Can’t wait to try it out on the course. Thanks for the video Alex !!
no worries! Let me know how you get on
@@AlexElliottGolf
Played 4 rounds with the new grip and so far it’s been a win. I’m more confident with the feel of my hands on the grip along with stabilizer my wrists.
So far it’s a 👍👍
@@AlexElliottGolf where country u from? Australia
I have been putting palms up for a few months, but with a standard grip, just bought this grip and will try it out when I get back from offshore, really looking forward to trying it. My putting definitely improved by going palm up so expecting it to be even better with a grip specifically for this style.
I like it, I have been putting using left hand low and and securing the grip with my right hand to my left wrist. Simplifies the stroke by taking the hands and wrist hinging out of the equation.
Going to give it a try. Cheaper option vs new driver or irons. See if it can help me shave off a few stokes based on my poor putting stroke.
Using a Super Stroke grip on an Odyssey triple track mallet. I generally push putts to the right. Just ordered the BJM for $36.00 and looking forward to trying it.
I can’t wait to get back out on the course and really put the BJM Kotahi grip and putting system to the test. I think it is really going to help my game!
I think it’s going to be an interesting journey on this putter grip
Love the notion that by using the over size grip doesn’t make the putter head feel ‘light’ . Is the smaller size grip approx same as superstroke 2 or 3 ? Thanks
The smaller size (undersize) is the same weight as the 3.0
Used a Garsen grip for years, same Thing as this, Stenson used it to.
Now I got a SuperStroke wristlock grip, with left hand lowest..
Do a review af tge wristlock grip and the Garsen
I was having trouble putting and through experimenting I came upon utilizing a grip taking the wrists out almost exactly like shown - use Golf Pride Tour SNSR grip on an Odyssey White Hot RX1 putter - At first it felt rather awkward but I starting making the short putts and my distance control improved so less three putts
You have to give this a try Jim!!!
Using a Cameron CNC grip which I've used for years. I putt well but could always putt better! I'm somewhere around 75% from 6ft-in. Will think about this one...
Nice the CNC grips are good!! Look good on a Cameron too
I actually watched a video yesterday from national golfer, don't know her name though. But she actually gripped the putter like that, presumably with a normal grip, but it just clicked in my head, that's how I'm supposed to grip the putter. So super coincidence you show this specific putter grip made for it. Thanks good for good content.
Edit: national club golfer
Thank you Patrick! It will be interesting to know what grip she had
Hannah is her name.
@@AlexElliottGolf I think she demod the same grip. I'm curious about this grip ! I'm currently using the Fat FLAT CAT SOLUTION grip on the odyssey stroke lab "bird of prey" putter. Cheaper than buying a new putter ?
Ive actually had one of these for over a yr now. Improved my yips over a standard grip for sure. Armlock further improves again
Standard Scotty Cameron pistolero grip, have it on my gamer and backup putter
My only thing would be expectations when stood over a putt, percentages for tour pros: 3ft - 95% 6ft - 65% 10ft - 38% 15ft - 22% I don't think amateur golfers have a good idea just how far a putt is and what % they should be making, I work on this a lot and 6ft isn't as close as you think
very true
I’ve just upgraded to a superstoke as my old grip felt loose? In my hands but this system does look very interesting
I can recommend it mark! The hands feel so good in this position to get a consistent strike and roll!!
@@AlexElliottGolf Are you still using this kotahi grip? Are u stroking it better?
Tried one of these a few years back. Very good.
Garsen Grips also have something similar. Definitely makes you use your body more throughout the stroke.
what’s it called
@@vernonbagay964 Garsen Max….but also have a look at the Garsen Ultimategrip…also very good and you can hold it in a variety of ways. Good luck.
Superstore 2.0 pistol grip. Absolutely love it! The theory of this very interesting.
I bought one and put it on my gamer I like it so far haven’t played with it yet looking forward to though
Would love to know how you get on with it Terry
I love the idea of the grip but can you easily employ the claw grip as well?
Yes I would say that could work
I would give it a try
I love the ping tiger uses , i have it on my Scotty X2 but i been using a scotty Matador on my Newport 3 and i love that as well
Great review Guys, I would use this as sometimes I try to steer the putt with my wrists, I think this would help me a lot, I wonder how much they go for.
34.95
I’m currently using a super stroke. I like the way the front of the grip is flat and is perpendicular to the putter face. I know if I have it parallel to the target line at impact the face will be square. I was given the putter, an odyssey, for my birthday a few weeks back so can’t wait to get out on the course and try it. I leave so many shots out on the course due to bad putting. I think most amateurs could cut 5 shots off their handicaps by putting better. Has to be two putts maximum this season. That is my goal for the year.
Paul Runyan, aka Little Poison, putted with this hold in both putting and chipping and short pitches (i.e. he held his hands that way but with a normal thin grip). He won 29 times on the US Tour including 9 wins in 1933 and 7 in 1934. He won two PGA championships and beat Sam Snead 8 and 7 in the 36-hole final in 1938 even though Snead outdrove him by up to 75 yards (Runyan was only 5 ft 4 inches tall and 108 lb). In 1979 he wrote a book outlining his method called The Short Way to Lower Scoring, which I used to have - a book well worth reading. I’m sure the grip helps but I think it’s the holding of the hands that’s the thing. His chipping and pitching with that hand position were amazing; from memory his chipping averaged less than 1.5 for years, i.e. he holed more chips than he got up-and-down, taking 3 from the green edge just never happened!
Great science too.
wow can't wait to.try
I have a BenRoss casino putter with its standard chunky grip. I love it.
Hi Alex I’ve got a Taylor made Spider with super stroke grip , I like the sound of that grip because I do feel like my hands move about a lot , I definitely would try that but the biggest dilemma would be which size grip to get
Hi John’
Definitely worth a thought this one
@@AlexElliottGolf how much are they Alex , I haven’t got small hands but you’d want to make sure you got the right size grip 🤔
@@JohnJones-gu3jk Look at www.bjmputtergripsuk.com. There is a grip selector in the "shop" where it guides you on grip sizes.
Just ordered the under size PU BJM under size grip - will let you know feedback after trial
Love to hear that Ricky check back and let us know
@@AlexElliottGolf will do 🏌️♂️
Does it work? Yes it does, if you use the palms up grip with the Kotahi grip fitted. You need to exaggerate elbows inwards. It feels funny at first, but stick with it.
I have a Kotahi grip on three putters now and I can putt well with all of them. One I use like a short 39 " arm lock putter ( semi toe hang), one face balanced 34 inch and one 36 inch face balanced putter. They all work fine.
I have a 41 " Arm lock Wilson Midway and I found it beneficial to use the palm up grip on the trail hand ( no Kotahi grip)
By complete fluke been looking for a seemore putter brought one today with this grip on it. Really enjoyed this review
I have been putting like this for a long time (left hand low interlocking my left pink and my right index fingers for more control) I discovered it from a guy who combined jack niclaus and matt kuchar' s putting style at the time. This is not new at all . But also check PAUL RUNYAN putting style video . Give it a try it , it is very good to combat the yips , but tuck in your elbows againts your body for more control . I disagree in regards to this putt grip . If you find a triangular type of grip , it would be more suitable for this style of putting.
Thanks Bronson I will give it a try
Interesting concept. I can see why it would benefit some but that grip looks so big. Would it work with my Scotty Cameron?
Thank you Steve!!!
Yes it would Steve.
Super Stroke 1.0 Pistol grip. Just switched from 2.0 after years with that. Needed a change.
Nice nice and how are you feeling about that change?
@@AlexElliottGolf Believe it or not, I wanted to engage my hands a little more with the slightly less fat grip. Seems to work. A little more pop in the stroke.
Great review guys.
Wow, I’d like to give this a go.
I can highly recommend it
@@AlexElliottGolf I put this on my Odyssey triple track, and although it takes some practice, it definitely takes the hands and wrists out of the equation. Thx.
I would try it. Anything to help me putt.
It’s a great thing to give a go for sure!!
this grip and system has been on the go for about 3 years. I have the over sized one, think I'll re-grip my 2 ball with this. I have presently an Evnroll with their gravity grip which is kind of similar. Does Henrick Stenson not putt with something similar called a Garsen
After 6month i absolutely love it. 110% worth it 🥰
I have really small hands and it's always been hard to have my thumbs go right down the middle of the shadt...this night be more natural
Got standard grip on my Odessey Stroke lab 10. Link to buy this grip Alex?

@@AlexElliottGolf 👍
I have a super stroke 1.0 on my putter, small hands thin grip!
Sounds like, say, a Superstroke 3.0 would do something similar if you used the same palms up grip.
Looks good!
You going to be gaming one?
Are these easy enough to re grip yourself?
James, if your fairly confident doing your grips yourself then yes. Just remember that the internal bore is parallel and you may need some build-up tape on the lower section.
They are very heavy you will need to add lead tape to head to get feel back.
It helping Alex making a few more putts I like it
We want more on the system
Thank you terry keep you eyes on the channel
Does it work with an Arccos system?
Im guessing Josh gonna be using another grip within 3 months time :-D Just kidding, wouldnt it be a great thing to do a follow up video on what the new grip has done to Joshs putting stats?? like in a few months time? Thanks!
Great idea, would be great to see what he comes back with.
Rosemark 1.52
Do they have a website Alex
You use the prayer grip , how does it feel compared
I like it!!
MORE INFO PLEASE
More information will be coming in the coming weeks, keep your eyes on the channel
Same with a samurai will cut through steel the same way a butter knife will cut through s....! It’s not the hammer it’s the nail lol 😂
Hahaha thanks Stewart. Reckon you could use it??
@@AlexElliottGolf if you gave anybody 6 months at it I’m sure you would ... it’s more the putter face if you put that grip on a toe hang putter it would be a shank ? ... has to be face balance or it won’t work ?
Please give the web site
Didn’t Ernie Els win with this grip recently?
Yep!
Try a forward Press LAB Golf putter grip. Tempted on the putter range !! But pricey!! Yet how many more putts per round do we hit compared to driver off the tee!! New driver or new putter !!
Or just get someone else to knock the putts in!! My yips are 😡
Is the LAB grip actually legal, rules state no bend in the shaft above a couple inches from the head and the grip effectively puts a bend in the shaft thus the spirit of the rule is broken eh. USGA cannot be happy with circumventing rules. If this LAB does have a regular grip some of its effectiveness is then nullified Id suspect.
@@mattflenniken3981 I’m sure they are Matt. I think on the Lab golf website it states they are legal for competition golf. I just seen Peter Finch has ‘putt’ one in his bag. He’s actually using the putter, shaft and grip !!
It's been a year. Are you still gaming this Alex?
Yes! I do
@@AlexElliottGolf wow!! Ok ill have to try then. I don't think I have any golf thing last a year so that speaks volumes ha
Kotahi Grip and HONU putter combination is awesome, lessen hand and wrist mobility plus no torque or wobble on a putter scientifically unmatched combo. see bjmputtergrips.com and honugolf.com
Are you still using Alex?
yes!
@@AlexElliottGolf I will give it a try . Big weakness in my game is flat stick
Is it legal?
Yes, it complies with the Rule of Golf and approved by the R&A
You missed every putt. Wtf……
Mmnnn? Another knock-off from China? This time it's a copy of the Garsen grip they invented.
A little bit more please I’m atrocious at putting
